All in one - Let's Explore the Biliran Island - Philippines
Coron, Boracay, or Palawan is not the only beautiful place in the Philippines, but the Philippines has many stunning & beautiful Islands which worth discovering and Explore.
Biliran Island is one of those Island which has many tourist spots.
This video, we are going to Naval, Biliran. This place has many beautiful places like waterfalls, white sand beaches, caves and resorts.
we will show how to reach there and some of the places.
The nearest big cities is Cebu and Tacloban. To reach Naval you can take a speed boat like a Super Cat, Wessam Express from Cebu to Ormoc, It's taken almost 3 hrs, and from Ormoc, you can take a van to reach Naval Biliran. Travel Time: 01:30hrs
Another option is direct ship from Cebu (pier3), leaving at night and reach Naval in the next day at 6am.
Most of the time we prefer direct ship as its more comfortable and enjoyable.
We landed Cebu and booked a ticket going to Naval.
There are two types of ticket economy and tourist. We took the Tourist class because it is more comfortable and fewer people. The ship is big and has all the basic facility including the canteen. You can bring your own food too. and eat in the canteen too.
We reached Naval now. It is surrounded by beautiful mountains and rice fields. From the ship you can see the beautiful view.
Many places we visited here and today we will show you some of them.
So let's start.
This is a Naval town, the capital of Biliran.
From naval, first, we went to Tinago waterfalls. This is one of the most visited place by locals. The water is very clean and sweet.
Passing by beautiful mountains and small villages with a different types of houses.
we reached our second destination, Alegre beach and there was rain at that time. We had our lunch here, swimming and full enjoyment. Then we proceed to another place.
The coastal road is very scenic. The sea is just on the right side throughout the journey.
Our next stop is Acaban Cave. Which is also known as lovers cave.
(The Biliran island province boasts a number of sea caves but perhaps the most famous one is located in the Brgy. Acaban, Culaba. The Acaban Cave open to crystal blue waters where you can take a leisurely swim without getting smashed on big waves on a good day.
The Lover’s cave is surrounded by mystery. Legend has it that the cave is a result of the dynamites that was once blasted by the treasure hunter believing, there were chests of gold in the area. Yet it is not confirmed if there were indeed precious things. )
It was fun to explore these places. We return to naval after a wonderful day, tired but worth it.
I already made a video about Dalutan island and Agta beach it is on the way to Naval. If you didn't watch yet, I am giving you the link here. Enjoy and have fun.
There are still many places to explore in Biliran Island. Like Ulan Ulan waterfalls, Bethane Hills, Bagongbong Waterfalls, and many more.
The next Part is coming soon...
Thank you

Backpacking in Catbalogan and Calbayog City, Samar
Catbalogan and Calbayog City, Samar, Philippines – list of tourist spots and destinations with comprehensive travel guide; history, how to get here, where to stay and budget. #81ProvincesPh
The Province of #Samar is prominent because of the longest San Juanico Bridge. A few years ago, it also captured the attention of the world because of the devastation brought by Typhoon Yolanda. But, did you know that the province also hides something in their mountainous and forested areas? These are breathtaking and definitely a splendor of nature’s beauty that needs to be discovered. Historical landmarks, waterfalls, and caves are just a few of the must visit tourist spots and destinations in Samar island.
What made my backpacking exciting? It was the Typhoon Samuel that hit the region during my Day 1. I was okay because I was using the Project NOAH mobile app. By using the application, I was able to monitor the weather with an actual photo taken by Himawari IR satellite. As expected, upon arrival at #CatbaloganCity, I was welcomed by rain showers and the stratus clouds from above. Aside from weather, by using the Project NOAH App, I was also able to locate the place I stayed and other tourist destinations.
The Obelisk at Imelda Park, located in front of the Samar Capitol building. On the sides, it depicts the four major events in the province, such as the Balangiga Encounter during the Philippine American war (1899-1902). On the other side, the 1649 Sumuroy Rebellion led by Juan Sumuroy against the Spaniards. The other is about the arrival of the first Jesuit missionaries in Samar on 15 October, 1596 and the last side is the declaration of Samar as an independent province by Queen Isabella II of Spain on 11 August, 1841.
HOW TO GET HERE: The transport Terminals in Catbalogan City: Grand Tour Terminal is situated near St. Bartholomew Church and The Pieta and/or two blocks away from Jose Rizal Monument. Take note, their schedule varies; therefore, you need to ask them to ensure that you don’t miss your preferred scheduled trip. Near Grand Tours Terminal, there are UV Express and other van operators.
WHERE TO STAY: Before my backpacking, I already booked online for an overnight stay at GV Hotel, just in front of the Jose Rizal Monument and a few blocks away to some van terminals. While roaming around the city, I found Rolet Hotel, Summer’s Garden Pensionne, Traveler’s Home Lodge Inn, and many other cheap hotels.

CULABA BILIRAN
one of the 8 municipalities of the island province of Biliran, predominantly fishing and farming is the means of living of Culaba, a number of tourist destinations too aside from its pristine sea waters and its majestic mountains their hospitality is superbly genuine!
WELCOME TO CULABA BILIRAN | 2023 AerialViews
CULABA BILIRAN🍃🌊
Before the 19th century, Culaba had gained the status of a town. It was then annexed to Caibiran as a barrio when the Pulahans raided and completely burned the town in 1901. After the destruction, the barrio leaders Pacifico Amable and Gervacio Abanilla started the reconstruction of the town. In 1918, the barrio leaders, realizing the former town was fully reconstructed, claimed for independence from Caibiran. Dr. Mariano Jasminez, a red cross supervisor, wrote to senator Avelino in 1953, requested for the issuance of Circular No. 321, proclaiming Culaba a municipality. On October 13, 1953, Pres. Elpidio Quirino signed the papers transforming Culaba as a full – fledged municipality. Objections for the separation of Culaba from Caibiran were encountered and final proclamation and inauguration was delayed. Finally, President Quirino, signed the documents making Culaba a municipality and set the inauguration on January 16, 1954. Mr. Gerardo Sabarre became the first mayor of the newly created municipality.
The ancestors of Culaba were settlers from the nearby towns of Caibiran, Carigara and Barugo in Leyte and from the province of Samar and Cebu. The town was first a barrio located at the northern part of Amambahag River (where now stands the remains of a Catholic Church and Cemetery). Due to constant floods, it was relocated near Culaba brook from where its name originated. The old town site became known as Binongtoan.

Ulan-Ulan and Tinago Falls in Biliran Province.
Ulan-Ulan Falls and Tinago Falls are just two of the famous and majestic waterfalls in the Province of #Biliran. Naval, its capital, is now highly urbanized making it easy for us, travelers, to discover and experience what they can offer. The province has a lot of mountainous areas where the magnificence of nature are still hidden. Not only that, they also have stunning beaches, great products and friendly people.
HOW TO GET TO BILIRAN: My Day 4 was at Amandaraga Falls, in Lawaan, Eastern Samar. The same day, from Tacloban City, I traveled three hours to Naval, spent overnight and the next day was my Day 5. Via air, from any point in the Philippines, the airports in Tacloban City and Ormoc City are the nearest where you can take a ride to Naval.

BILIRAN, PHILIPPINES: How to Travel to One of the Most Underrated Province in the Philippines
Yes, you probably haven't gone here or you probably skipped this province and visited the more popular Samar and Leyte but did you know that this province boasts of amazing beaches and waterfalls? We visited the rustic island of Sambawan, where we were greeted by the most amazing locals, mesmerizing views and awesome marine life (anyone wants to swim with sharks here?). It's a long journey to get here but totally totally worth it!
Biliran Province also boasts of its numerous waterfalls, one of which is Ulan-Ulan Falls where we quickly dipped our toes in its cold waters. Overall, the province is not yet that developed when it comes to tourism and there's still a lot of work to be done. But you shouldn't miss going to this island, it's a gem waiting to be discovered.
