Mexico travel guide 2023 | Top 10 Best Places to Visit in Mexico | Best Places in Mexico | Travel Guide of Mexico | Top 10 Places in Mexico 2023 | Mexico Places

Mexico has something for everyone, whether you like beaches, mountains, nature, cities, nightlife, cute colonial villages, food, hot weather, cold weather, or all of the above. Mexico is a huge nation, and each of its states has its own distinct personality. Let’s go over the 10 BEST PLACES TO TRAVEL IN MEXICO 2023.

10. Puerta Vallarta.
Puerta Vallarta, which is only a few hours' drive from Oaxaca, couldn't be more dissimilar. You'll be able to take walks on the beach at dusk and enjoy the ocean breeze rather than being surrounded by mountains.

9. Oaxaca.
Oaxaca is another fascinating location. The tranquil city of Oaxaca, which serves as the state's capital, is home to numerous enticing bars, eateries, and bustling markets. You might wish to remain here forever because of its brightly colored structures and one way cobblestone streets.

8. San Miguel De Allende.
San Miguel de Allende is another gorgeous hamlet that is only 241 kilometers from Mexico City. The town, which was established by a monk, still lacks traffic lights, letting you experience the genuine Mexico.

Number 7. The Magical Towns (Pueblos Magicos).
Scattered around Mexico are the so called Pueblos Magicos, or “magical towns”. These picturesque villages have an enchanted feel to them, a relaxed vibe, and lovely architecture. There are many located within driving distance from Mexico City, such as Cholula in Puebla.

6. The Mayan Ruins.
A trip to other Mayan sites in addition to Teotihuacan is a must do if you enjoy history. They are nonetheless worth seeing even if archeology isn't your thing. Mexico is home to numerous Mayan ruins because the Mesoamerican civilization covered a large portion of the country. You will undoubtedly find some kind of ruin nearby no matter where in the nation you are. The Mayans created the cities that are still visible in the ruins.

5. San Juan Teotihuacan (The Pyramids).
You've probably seen images of Mexico's well known pyramids if you've ever glanced through a travel guide. Many people fly into CDMX just to get there; it takes little time to get there, and you can travel alone or as part of a tour.

4. Mexico City.
Mexico City is often merely a stopover before flying to Cancun or driving to one of Mexico's wonderful communities. The Greater Mexico City area has about 21 million people. Traffic, pollution, and crime exist. However, CDMX offers much. Mexico's capital has fine dining and $1 tacos.

3. Baja California.
Flying into Mexico City or Cancun may be more convenient for vacationers from the East Coast or Europe. However, people from the West Coast frequently travel to San Diego and enter Baja California across the land border. Some people even fly into San Diego and head straight for the border. California is directly beneath the Mexican state of Baja California. You may drive or walk across the border to get from San Diego to Tijuana quickly and easily.

2. The Riviera Maya.
The Riviera Maya is a section of Yucatán's Caribbean coastline located just south of Cancun. While the majority of tourists travel to Cancun, less people travel to The Riviera Maya, giving you more freedom to reach its pristine beaches. The Riviera Maya is home to a number of well-known resort communities. Tulum and Playa del Carmen are two of them.

1. Cancun.
One of the most well known tourism destinations in Mexico is Cancun. Amazing beaches and lovely hotels can be found there. Cancun provides all you need, whether you're looking for a luxurious resort or a wild night out. You have the option to spend lavishly in Cancun or stick to a spending plan.

CANCUN, MEXICO | 5 Must-Do Day Trips from Cancun

Cancun is considered to be the heart of the Mexican Caribbean. At this beautiful destination, you’ll find spectacular white-sand beaches, a turquoise sea, and a vibrant nightlife, which attracts millions of tourists every year. But unfortunately most tourists don’t venture out of the famed Hotel Zone. If you’re staying in Cancun and looking for unique activities to do, we highly recommend you head out of the town at least once during your trip! Cancun is the perfect location to explore nearby towns, Mayan ruins, and natural attractions from. In this video we highlight 5 must-do day trips from Cancun:

5. Río Lagartos & Las Coloradas

Located about 3.5 hours from Cancun, Río Lagartos and Las Coloradas make for a great day trip. Río Lagartos is basically a fishing village located along the Gulf Coast. It’s filled with wildlife and pristine nature. You can explore its protected biosphere by taking a boat tour where you will observe hundreds of flamingos, crocodiles, and pelicans. Right outside the biosphere, you can find the pink water lagoons called “Las Coloradas”. These pink lakes are formed by salt mines and make for stunning pictures.

☑️ Book tour:

4. Tulum

From the Tulum Ruins to the unique Kaan Luum lagoon, the Calavera Cenote and the Gran Cenote, you have plenty of options here. Tulum is a 2 hour drive away from Cancun and can be easily reached by local collectivo or the tourist ADO bus. Alternatively, you can also book a day tour to get here.

☑️ Book tour:

3. Bacalar

Famous for its immense deep-blue lake, Bacalar is located in the south of Quintana Roo, near the border of Belize. It takes about 4 hours to get here by tour bus, so ideally spend more than 1 day here if you can. However, it’s still doable to get there and then back to Cancun in a day if you get an early start. It’s best explored during a boat tour, so you can experience and swim in the different colors and cenotes in the lake.

☑️ Book tour:

2. Isla Mujeres

Only a 20 minute boat ride from Cancun, Isla Mujeres is the closest day trip recommendation on our list. The island is a beautiful, peaceful paradise known for its white-sand beaches, crystal clear waters, and the friendliest locals in the Mexican Caribbean. It’s also a popular scuba diving and snorkeling destination, with the impressive MUSA Underwater Museum of Art and the beautiful Manchones Reef near the shore.

☑️ Book tour:

1. Chichén Itzá

Our favorite day trip from Cancun is to Chichen Itza, one of the 7 World Wonders. This archeological site is located about 3 hours away from Cancun by tour bus. Chichen Itza was once a thriving community of Mayan people and boasts an interesting history that you can’t miss.

► WHO AM I?

I am a Brazilian-American journalist living in Florida. After traveling the world working with sports, news, and events for over 15 years, I realized that what I really love is the travel part of it all. So I exchanged life in the newsrooms and stadiums for the daily challenge of being an independent content producer. I created this channel to share the beauties of the world... stuff that for so long I only kept to myself. Also to help people planning similar trips and to inspire more people to venture out and enjoy life!

P.S.: The funny guy who appears in the vlogs is my husband, Gordon. He is Canadian-American and he's actually camera-shy, that's why he's behind the camera most of the time 😉

Located off the eastern coast of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, Cozumel offers a plethora of activities and attractions for visitors, making it a must-visit destination for travelers seeking both adventure and relaxation.

One of the primary attractions of Cozumel is its world-class diving and snorkeling sites. The island is surrounded by the Mesoamerican Reef, the second-largest coral reef system in the world, offering divers and snorkelers a chance to explore vibrant underwater ecosystems teeming with marine life. Palancar Reef and Columbia Reef are among the best spots for underwater exploration. For those who prefer to stay dry, Cozumel excursions such as glass-bottom boat tours provide a unique way to witness the island's aquatic wonders.

Cozumel is also rich in cultural and historical sites. The San Gervasio ruins, a significant Mayan archaeological site, offer a glimpse into the island's ancient past. Visitors can explore the remnants of this once-thriving Mayan community, which served as a pilgrimage site for the goddess Ixchel. The Museum of the Island of Cozumel provides further insights into the island's history and culture, showcasing exhibits on local traditions, marine life, and the island's development over the years.

For those wondering *what to do in Cozumel*, the island offers a variety of activities to suit all interests. Adventurous travelers can enjoy Cozumel tours such as ATV rides through the jungle, zip-lining, or exploring the island's rugged east coast, known for its unspoiled beaches and natural beauty. Cozumel beach clubs, like Playa Mia Grand Beach Park, offer a more relaxed experience with amenities such as loungers, restaurants, and water sports.

Cozumel is a popular cruise port, and there are plenty of things to do in Cozumel cruise port for day-trippers. San Miguel, the island's capital, is bustling with shops, restaurants, and bars, providing a lively atmosphere for visitors. Shopping for local crafts, jewelry, and souvenirs is a favorite pastime for many tourists.

Safety is often a concern for travelers, and many wonder, *is Cozumel safe*? The answer is yes. Cozumel is considered one of the safest destinations in Mexico, with a low crime rate and a welcoming atmosphere for tourists. However, as with any travel destination, it's advisable to take standard precautions, such as securing valuables and staying aware of your surroundings.

Whether you're looking for *fun things to do in Cozumel* or seeking *unusual things to do in Cozumel*, this island paradise offers something for everyone. From exploring its natural and cultural wonders to relaxing on its pristine beaches, Cozumel promises an unforgettable experience for all who visit.
