Pinar del Rio I Cuba Buddy
Pinar del Río ist die westlichste und drittgrößte Provinz Kubas. Ihre Hauptstadt heißt ebenfalls Pinar del Río. In der Region liegt einer der drei größten Gebirgszüge in Kuba. Die 175 km lange Cordillera de Guaniguanico erhebt sich am Pan de Guajaibón bis auf 699 Meter. Südlich und nördlich des Gebirges befinden sich Küstenebenen, deren Großteil sumpfig ist.
Hier gibt es einiges zu entdecken. Im Gebirge liegt die Sierra del Rosario, welche unter UNESCO-Schutz steht. Im westlichen Teil davon erstreckt sich die Sierra de los Órganos (Orgelpfeifengebirge). Im Tal dazwischen, dem Valle de Viñales, befindet sich der touristisch bedeutsame Ort Viñales. Aufgrund des karstigen Untergrundes gibt es außerdem viele Höhlen und unterirdische Flüsse in dieser Gegend. Von Viñales aus lohnt sich ein Ausflug dorthin.
In Pinar del Rio wechseln sich bunt getünchte Häuser, gepflegte Tabakplantagen und zerfurchte Nebenstraßen, die in rostrote Erde getaucht sind, ab. Die idyllische Provinz wird auch liebevoll der Garten von Kuba genannt. Die Landschaft um Pinar del Rio lässt schnell erahnen, dass sich hier eines der besten Anbaugebiete für Tabakpflanzen befindet. Da darf ein Besuch in der Fábrica de Tabacos, in der noch fleißig die Deckblätter auf den Schenkeln der Torcedores gerollt werden, nicht fehlen. Ein Zigarrenroller schafft zwischen 40 und 180 Stück am Tag. Die Zigarrenherstellung hat in Kuba eine lange Tradition und genießt weltweite Anerkennung.

Ranchuelo is a town and municipality in the Villa Clara Province of Cuba. It was founded in 1734 and has a municipal population of 59,062 of which about 16,804 in the town itself. Originally named Boca de Ranchuelo, the settlement was founded by Dionisio Consuegra. In 1856 it was linked to the national rail network, and in 1879 gained the municipal status. Cueva del Indio | Indian Cave | Complete Guide and Tour | Viñales | Cuba
Vinales is a beautiful section of Cuba. Located in the western most stretches of the island, Vinales is a tourist hotspot. Although the area could be a simple day trip from Havana, we decided to spend several days in the area exploring.
After our bus trip, we decided to stop here, at Cueva del Indio, or Indian Cave. Here, you can take a great little boat tour, learning about the cave, and seeing some of the interesting forms of the Stalactites and Stalagmites.
This tour of Cueva del Indio was one of our favorite parts of our entire time in Vinales, and something everyone should do if they are visiting this section of Cuba.
🇨🇺 CUBA : DE LA HAVANE À VINALES
Cuba : De La Havane à Vinales
Bienvenue sur la plus grande île des caraïbes, entre le folklore de la capitale ou la tranquillité des parcs naturels du pays, les activités sont multiples, variés et vous permettront de passer un agréable séjour.
Forcément une des premières choses à laquelle on pense quand on entend Cuba c'est surement sa capitale : La Havane. Vous passerez à coup sûr un bon moment à arpenter les rues de la vieille ville. Des habitations colorées, du linge au balcon, les enfants qui jouent au foot dans la rues pendant que les anciens jouent aux dominos sans oublier les voitures américaines des années 50 qui servent de taxis. Un mix bouillonnant bercé par le rythme latino des nombreux groupes disséminés un peu partout. De nombreux édifices se trouvent à La Havane comme El Capitolio, le musée de la révolution, la cathédrale ou le Castillo de la Real Fuerza. Depuis El Parque Central, empruntez le Paséo de Marti jusqu'à arriver sur le front de mer d'où vous verrez le fort el Morro et pourrez vous balader sur le Malecon.
Si vous souhaitez voir un quartier insolite, dirigez-vous vers Fusterlandia où vous découvrirez l'oeuvre de l'artiste José Fuster qui un peu à l'image de Gaudi à Barcelone a décidé de couvrir les façades des maisons de fresques en mosaïque.
Pour ceux qui préfèrent la nature, nous vous conseillons d'aller faire un tour dans le parc national de Vinales qui est classé au patrimoine mondial de l'UNESCO. Vous pourrez admirer de magnifiques formations géologiques appelées mogotes. Vous pourrez visiter des plantations de tabac et découvrir comment sont fabriqués les cigares. Vous pourrez également faire une balade dans Indian cave qui est une grotte dans laquelle vous évoluerez en bateau sur la rivière. Vous aurez aussi la possibilité de vous rendre à El Mural de la Prehistoria, une peinture qui représente le processus d'évolution de la vie.
Si vous aimez profiter de la mer, il vous sera facilement possible de faire du snorkeling pour explorer les fonds coralliens et la multitude de poissons qui s'y trouve. Une destination qui n'est pas forcement réputée pour le surf mais vous pourrez pourtant y trouver de très bonnes vagues avec vraiment peu de monde dans l'eau, pensez y !

We found a restaurant 3 mins away from our airbnb called Los Artesanos whose food we really enjoyed and 5 mins away by car our friend Oscar took us to Juanky's Pan for some local cuban hamburgers. Later in the vlog we take you with us as we're visiting Viñales and getting the tour experience.
