Hi y’all! We’re Adam, Kathryn, and Kona, an adventurous married couple (+ pup!) living on the road in our self-converted sprinter van! Before you book your tickets, you want to plan ahead for the best free things to do in Atlanta, Georgia. There’s so much to do that you want to make sure you make the most out of your trip!
As Atlanta is a city with beautiful nature, your trip should include a visit to the park, nature trails, and a bit of hiking. You can start by exploring the Silver Comet Trail. This is a trail that starts outside of Atlanta and stops about 60 miles from the Alabama border. It’s a great trail for walking or biking.
If you like parks, you’ve got to visit the Centennial Olympic Park. This is a large park that’s great for walking, jogging, or playing sports. This was the site of the 1996 Olympic Games. It’s even got an ice skating rink!
If you’re a history buff, you should take a free walking tour starting at Piedmont Park. With these tours, you’ll learn about Atlanta’s fascinating history. You should also stop by the Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park. This was the site of a Civil War battleground and is a must-see if you want to learn more about American history.
