Living in Victoria BC on Vancouver Island means you have incredible access to some of the best natural settings in all of British Columbia. Whether you are looking for the best things to do in Victoria British Columbia during your Canadian Travel Expedition, or you live here already, these are the Best Hikes in Victoria BC.
In my mind, some of these hikes/Victoria BC places to visit likely rank in the best hikes in British Columbia and definitely the best hikes on Vancouver Island. Hiking BC can be an incredibly rewarding experience for the body and the mind and it is something that I like to incorporate into my lifestyle. Just like hikes near Vancouver, Hikes near Victoria can be as little as 15 minutes from the bustling downtown core and this kind of proximity to city living is one of the things that makes Victoria British Columbia Canada so special.
Although I’m no expert on Hiking BC, I would consider myself an outdoor enthusiast that loves fitness. I wanted to provide a list of BC Hikes that range in difficulty level from flat/entry level to day trips that test even expert hikers. Many of these trips are through BC Provincial Parks where camping can be incorporated into your adventure.

维多利亚省议会大楼（British Columbia Parliament Buildings）面对著港口，是一座维多利亚式的建筑，由英国的法兰西斯·拿顿贝利设计，于1893年动工，1897年10月完工，当时的拿顿贝利年仅25岁。园内耸立著维多利亚女王的铜像，中央圆顶部分是乔治·温哥华的铜像，议会内部分为地下一楼、一楼、二楼。在其中一、二楼间挂著一幅极大的画，描绘的是卑诗省的历史故事，大厅的彩色玻璃亦是一大特色，议会的内侧是图书馆。喷泉是为了纪念B.C.省殖民100周年所建，西侧的联合广场记载了加拿大10省及2地方的图腾徽章。夜晚的议会大厦则有另一种风情，超过3千个灯泡装饰著大厦的周围，是维多利亚港湾区著名的夜景。议会大楼可以免费入场参观。

維多利亞的唐人街是加拿大第一個，亦是歷史最悠久的華埠，它在北美也是第二，僅次於舊金山。历史上的进入加拿大的第一批华人，是1788年跟着一个英国人的船队抵达的，当时是为了做皮草生意。他们就在维多利亚这个地方定居了下来，这里就是一个皮草贸易中转的地方。后来华人街慢慢壮大，到1911年时，占据了6条街，人口3158人，成为加拿大最大的华人聚集地。要知道，当时的温哥华，华人还没有上百；一百年后的2011年，整个维多利亚市区 (downtown) 的人口，也没有3000人。在顶峰时期，有超过150家商店，2家剧院，1所医院，3所学校，5家庙宇，10家鸦片工厂，完全是一个自给自足的社会。后来加拿大政府的不断排华，阻止不了华人的到来。20年代以后，加拿大开始全面排华，Chinese Exclusion Act。这是加拿大华人史最黑暗的时期。在这样的大环境下，维多利亚的中国城开始萎缩，多数店铺也随之凋零。没有新的华人进来，到了七十年代时候，维多利亚中国城的常住华人人口，只有一百多人。
🔸贝肯山公园 Beacon Hill Park
贝肯山公园位于维多利亚市中心的东南处，总面积达153英亩，是维多利亚最大也是最古老的公园。里面植被相当丰富，有不少小动物、鸟类、步道、湖泊、花园、浅水池，以及一露天圆形剧场，还是世界上最高的图腾柱以及加拿大国道一号公路的起始点“零英里”的所在。公园内可见许多的散步、慢跑、或骑自行车的人，是当地人最喜爱的公园之一。不仅如此，从这里的还可以隔海眺望美国的Olympic Mountains以及Strait of Juan de Fuca，景色优美，非常惬意。
🔸 零英里（Mile Zero）
零英里是加拿大一号高速公路自西向东横穿加拿大的起点。在零英里纪念碑的不远处，是一位名叫Terry Fox的加拿大年轻人雕像。这里隐藏着一段感人故事… 他用一条腿，跑出“希望马拉松” 。1958年，Terry Fox出生于加拿大马尼托巴省的一个普通家庭，在BC省的高贵林港长大，从小热爱运动。18岁的Terry Fox, 被确诊患上骨癌，右腿做了截肢手术，不得不依赖义肢行走。在医院接受治疗时，Terry Fox 目睹了骨癌儿童的痛苦，而资金的匮乏让他们雪上加霜。Terry Fox决心帮助解决这项难题。1980年，21岁的Terry Fox为了给骨癌的研究和治疗筹集捐款，决定用一只脚跑一场希望的马拉松。这是一次横穿加拿大的冒险征途，从加拿大的东海岸跑到西部BC省的维多利亚的零英里，贯穿加拿大10个省。为了这项几乎不可能完成的目标，他跑了143天， 5300多公里，换了9条义肢。Terry Fox 在143天、长达5373公里的艰难征程后，就已病入膏肓，于加拿大安大略省被迫中止马拉松。Terry Fox短暂的一生，激励了无数年轻人，让整个加拿大为之感动。在加拿大的其他地方，有许多Terry Fox 的雕像，他虽未抵达终点，他的意志却跑得更远，一直被人歌颂。
🔸 克雷格达罗克古堡 Craigdarroch Castle

🔸 奥格登角 Ogden Point

维多利亚的渔人码头不大，但它也是一个旅游的好地方! 从维多利亚港步行约10分钟，停车场就在码头旁边，很方便。进入渔人码头左边会看到停泊的渔船，右边可以看到一排排的水上浮屋，浮屋有的本身就是一艘船，每一间房子都很小但很独特，有的房子以民宿设施的形式出租。渔人码头也满是炸鱼和炸土豆条及其他餐厅。爱坐船的朋友也可以乘坐考察船旅行。在渔人码头的中央，如果你幸运的话，你会看到海狮探出头来玩耍!
🔸 布查德花园 Butchart Garden
布查德花园是由Robert Pim Butchart夫妇合力建造，最初审美目光敏锐的布查德太太把采尽后的石矿场纳入其家居庭园美化计划之中，布查德夫妇有技巧地将罕见的奇花异木糅合起来，最终创造出现在享誉全球的低洼花园，据说所采用的花卉植物大多数是他俩遍游世界各地时亲手收集的。布查德夫妇早期建来消遣自娱的花园不断扩大，进而发展出玫瑰园（Rose Garden）、意大利园（Italian Garden）和日式庭园（Japanese Garden）。

🔸 哈特利古堡 Hatley Castle

Hatley Castle in Colwood, BC was built in 1908 and is now part of the Royal Roads University campus. There are guided tours of the castle as well as the surrounding gardens and grounds, or you can wander the grounds yourself. It has also been a filming location for many movies, including X-Men: The Last Stand, X-Men 2, Disney's Descendants, and Deadpool.
Another popular site to visit is @CraigdarrochCastle in Victoria, BC. This castle was built in 1890 by Robert Dunsmuir, a Scottish immigrant who made his fortune in coal mining and railroads. There are self-guided tours of the castle. It is a neat glimpse of privileged life in the 1890s.
