Take State Road 50 west from Orlando into Lake County and you’ll reach the “gem of the hills.” The city of Clermont was founded in the 1880s, a heritage on full display through a series of original structures on the banks of Lake Minneola.
Dominating one of the most prominent hills in the area is the 50’s-era Florida Citrus Tower. This 226-foot-tall tribute to the region’s citrus industry provides a bird’s eye view of the landscape which has evolved from orange groves to modern-day housing developments.
While an observation tower might be the city’s biggest claim to fame, the historic downtown area has become a destination for local foodies. With several food halls and vendor markets occupying space on and near Montrose Street and other locally-owned brick and mortars, historic Clermont has become one of our favorite places to hang out on a Saturday.

The Raja Ampat Archipelago is not an easy place to reach, especially if you 're coming from Europe like me.
It is also a place where the infrastructure (and thank the Universe for that!) is mainly targeting Scuba Divers and not so much mass tourism. This helps the local Fauna thrive!
In these waters lives the 75% of the global marine life! Everything down there is in abundance and literally a feast to the eye!
Besides the Ocean, in the dense forests of the islands live the Red Bird of Paradise and the Wilson Bird of Paradise! 2 Unique species for the area!
Finally the City! Waisai is the Capital of the Waigeo island. I bumped upon an election rally during my stay there which raised the question of Political will in order to keep the local ecosystem healthy.

The Showcase of Citrus is a 2,500 estate with a ton of family friendly attractions such as gem mining, citrus grove, animal farm, country store.. and of course the MONSTER TRUCK SAFARI TOUR! The entire estate has a lot of old Florida charm, and is a great place to get away for the day. Plus, you'll be supporting a local family business!

One of Florida’s first “attractions,” the Citrus Tower was built in 1956 on one of the highest hills in Florida’s ridge section. The original plans specified a tower 75 feet high, but when completed, the Citrus Tower rose to a lofty height of 226 feet (equivalent to 22 stories).
