What are the 10 prettiest towns in the county of Hertfordshire? To determine this, I visited them all. Here's what I found out.
As a disclaimer, this list is neither a social commentary, nor a guide on which are the nicest towns to live, but purely a judgement on the aesthetics of each respective town centre.

TRING RESERVOIR AND CANAL | Things to do in Hertfordshire England 🏴 #uktravel
Tring in Hertfordshire, England filmed in 4K
Tring is a town in Hertfordshire, England, situated in a gap passing through the Chiltern Hills, classed as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and only 30 miles from Central London.
We love exploring and visiting beautiful places. However, not everyone can visit these places. Therefore, the videos concentrate on the subject and nothing else. In other words, you see the sites and not our faces. You see what we see and go where we go. The videos are in 4K, and the equipment used varies depending on what is required. DJI Pocket 2, iPhone, Nikon D7200, DJI Mini 2 and D7500.
We sometimes use music from the Royalty-Free Music Club purchased from iTunes called Royalty Free Music Movies & Videos Backgrounds. Also, music from iMovies and the YouTube Music Library.

A scenic hike in the Chiltern Hills - Great Missenden to Ellesborough - 10 miles - [4K]
A 4k film of a beautiful hike in the Chilterns AONB. The route followed the Chiltern Way & the Ridgeway, among many other bridleways and footpaths.
The route also went via a few hills with far stretching views including, Whiteleaf Hill, Brush Hill & Beacon Hill. I saw some picturesque churches and nice countryside on the walk.

Subscribe and leave a comment please. I cycled from Little Chalfont to Chorleywood and I really enjoyed the green and the fresh air. The day was not too hot and it even started to drizzle at a certain point, at the end of my recording in the village. I would have loved to cycle from here to Rickmansworth but it looked challenging...
Chorleywood to Uxbridge hike - 10 miles - Grand Union Canal [4k]
Hi everyone, me and my father went on another walk together from Chorleywood to Uxbridge. We had a Wetherspoons meal in Uxbridge when we got there then headed back home to Chorleywood via the Metropolitan train line. It was a great walk and I haven't been down that part of the canal for years so was good to see it again. Happy to send the route over if anyone is interested but its 90% grand union canal. Would recommend. Cheers.

Starting in the village centre, we walk up a couple of unusal footpaths through the railway station, across the common to visit the Chorleywood House Estate. We see the gardens, ponds and woodlands before finishing by the River Chess.

The Chess Valley, one of the most beautiful and tranquil parts of the Chiltern Hills, yet never more than a couple of kilometres from the Metropolitan Line.
The walk dips in and out of the valley, with a number of fine panoramic views.

The Chess Valley is one of the most beautiful and tranquil parts of the Chiltern Hills – which makes it all the more amazing that along its whole length it is never more than a couple of kilometres from the Metropolitan Line of the London Underground. This walk explores it thoroughly, starting in Chorleywood, whose station and common already have a very rural feel, and afterwards dipping in and out of the valley, with a number of fine panoramic views.

Hiking Chorleywood to Berkhamsted - 16 miles | Chilterns AONB | 4K Scenery video
Yesterday I hiked from Chorleywood to Berkhamsted, via the villages of Sarratt, Chipperfield, Bovingdon & Bourne End. I got to see the River Chess & the Grand Union Canal on this adventure. The route was created online. Some of the journey I followed the Chiltern Way & the Hertfordshire Way, which are long distance walking paths.
In Berkhamsted there was a medieval festival going on near the castle, so I checked that out - was a pretty cool festival & I got some footage of the knights battling.

A hiking adventure from Chorleywood to Marlow - 22 miles | Chilterns AONB - [4k]
A fantastic route that went via Phillips Hill woods, Chalfont St Giles, Hodgemoor woods, Beaconsfield (Knotty Green), Forty Green, Loudwater, Bourne End, Marlow and then a bit further along the River Thames to Bisham's 12th Century church.
It was a great walk that I'd recommend, my longest one for a long time. It was an amazing feeling to have walked to the River Thames from my house.

The Chiltern Way: Hemel Hempstead to Chorleywood 22 February 2019
A 10 mile section of the Chiltern Way long distance footpath (which encircles the Chiltern Hills), between Hemel Hempstead and Chorleywood. Glorious weather- it was more like June than February, and great views! The walk went via Bovingdon, Flaunden, Sarratt Church and Chenies, and took place on Friday 22 February 2019. Incidentally, the main road crossed near the end of the walk was the A404, not the A414 as I stated in the video.
The Chiltern Heritage Trail: Chesham to Chorleywood 13 November 2019
The Chiltern Heritage Trail is a 52 mile long circular walk in the northern Chiltern Hills. Note that this is a different long distance footpath to the Chiltern Way which has featured in some of my other videos. This video shows the 8.5 mile section of the Chiltern Heritage Trail from Chesham to its junction with Shire Lane in Chorleywood. En route, the walk passes through the village of Chenies. The walk took place in sunny weather on Wednesday 13 November 2019.

What a winter-wonderland of a walk this 10 miler turned out to be! A whole day walking in the snow...wonderful!
When snow fall in London seems to stop all those trains running south of the Thames, try Chiltern Railways; they seem to be one of the few able to cope!
Thus, setting out from Chorleywood station, 'Yaktrax' secured underfoot (initially, at least!), the walker was soon on the Common and enjoying some wintry scenery.
Shortly after, it's on to the Chorleywood House estate to meet our companion for much of the day, the River Chess.
Then, it's on across loads more of the white stuff; what was underneath, this walker has no idea, but it made for great walking! A water cress farm was passed, with Little Egrets and Herons close by, prior to reaching Chenies for lunch. There's a choice of pubs here, or a pleasant church porch, as in this case.
After lunch, it's on past Chenies Manor, into woodland, and then on through fields towards Latimer House. There have been some fine views throughout the walk, but, arguably, some finer ones await over the Chess valley below.
The Chess Valley Path is left behind for the final section into Chesham, but this is equally picturesque and affords some fine views over the town.
Just as at the beginning, the transition from rural to town is very sudden.
Another wonderful day's walking, particularly with the snow as a back drop, and, fortuitously, all within the TFL fare zones!
(As a result of my 'Yaktrax' trial today, I would advise the 'Pro' version over the 'Walker' for country walking as the latter was prone to slipping off the boot).
Chorleywood - Least Used Metropolitan Line Station
We're counting down the least used stations line by line on the London Underground, this time to the Metropolitan and the quaintness that is Chorleywood.
You can download the Entry & Exit figures for all Tube Stations here: (although, it will obviously spoil the series for you if you look ahead at the figures!)
Note: The Waterloo & City Line won't be done, as it's only two two stations and it's figures are ridiculously high, because the stations are Waterloo and Bank.
There's scope though to do 'Least Used...' on the Overground, DLR and Trams.

Chorleywood held their Village day on 11 July 2009 at the same time as a cricket match was played on the common. Lots of stalls and an arena where various performances took place throughout the afternoon.
