10-day trip through Kyrgyzstan || Trailer || 4K
Kyrgyzstan is a country of stunning landscapes, rich cultural heritage and warm hospitality. It is a land of alpine pastures, excellent riders, eagle hunting, yurts and magical rock formations.
We spent 10 days in Kyrgyzstan and visited many of its famous places.
Located in the heart of Central Asia, Kyrgyzstan borders Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and China.
Our plan was to visit the following places: the capital Bishkek, Ala Archa National Park, Burana Tower in Shamsy Valley, Cholpon Ata, Semenovka Valley, Karakol, Skazka Canyon, then over the Kalmak-Ashuu mountain pass to the camp with yurts on Song Kul Lake, Naryn and the Tash Rabat Caravan Saray.
As nature lovers, we were enchanted by the country's breathtaking landscapes that provide the perfect backdrop for hiking, trekking, horseback riding and camping.
We experienced the hospitality of Kyrgyz nomads while staying in yurts, traditional nomadic dwellings and enjoyed authentic Kyrgyz cuisine. We attended nomad games and hunting with eagles that show the traditions and sports of this country.
Although the culture of Kyrgyzstan is strongly influenced by the traditions of nomadic life, it also has influences from Russia, Persia and Turkey. Geographically isolated by its mountainous location, it played an important role as part of the historic Silk Road trade route.

Kyrgyzstan 🇰🇬 The road to Issyk-Kul and the huge Asian Bazaar in Cholpon-Ata. Part 1
Hello my friends, in today's video I will show you the second-largest mountain lake in the world after Lake Titicaca in South America, the second-largest saline lake after the Caspian Sea in Central Asia. It is also the seventh-deepest and the tenth-largest lake in the world by volume. This is all Issyk-Kul - the mountain pearl of Kyrgyzstan, the largest closed-lake in the country, the pride of the locals and a favorite tourist destination.
I will also tell you a lot of interesting things about the lake, the main tourist city of Cholpon-Ata, with it's beautiful mountain view, long sandy beaches and the amazing people who live there. I will visit the old Central Asian bazaar in the city where you can buy whatever you want from souvenirs to traditional nomad clothes and where you will immerse yourself in the Kyrgyz culture and its hospitality. And of course, I'll definitely try the delicious local cuisine and swim in the lake with crystal clear water.

Cholpon-Ata - Kyrgyzstan 4K Travel Channel
Two and a half hours after our departure from Jyrgalan we reach the 180 km remote Cholpon-Ata. We start our discovery tour with a visit to the multifunctional open-air museum Ruh Ordo. Each of the five chapels on the site symbolizes a religion: Islam, Catholic, Christian Orthodox, Buddhism, and Judaism. These are supposed to stand for peace and remind that all religions have one God.
The complex is dedicated to the world-famous Kyrgyz writer Chinghiz Aitmatov. Besides his novel characters, a lot of nicely designed sculptures adorn the lawns between various halls. They represent real as well as mythical persons. In addition, many objects of Kyrgyz culture are on display. Aitmatov lifelong advocated a peace-loving nature-loving culture. You can see his work in one of the halls.
On the shore is a footbridge with four platforms, symbolizing four seasons and the four directions of a compass.
But there is also a hall that is beyond our understanding. It has a large empty pool inside. In the evening the area is beautifully illuminated. It is also a venue for concerts and events. The well maintained open-air museum Ruh Ordo conveys artistic charm.
After our tour, we drive one bathing beach near and start a sightseeing flight with the drone at the western shore of the bay.
Beside the center with the open air museum Ruh Ordo we can recognize the stadium of the World Nomad Games.
Marvelous beaches and dune landscapes wind along the shore of the Issyk-Kul. The beautiful color shades of the water near the shore appear almost like a painting. Everywhere is vibrant life and some beach visitors let themselves be pulled into the air by motor boats with parachutes.
Another highlight in Cholpon-Ata are the numerous fields of petroglyphs that stretch between the village and the mountains.

Cholpon Ata is a resort town on the northern shore of Lake Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyzstan.
Located at an elevation of 1607 meters, Lake Issyk Kul is the largest lake in the country and the second largest mountain lake in the world.

When I visited in June, it was still being prepared for the real high season (July and August).
I think if you are going to visit this city you should go during the high season.
In this video you can watch a walk starting from the center of town and ending at the beach of Lake Issyk Kul.

From Cholpon-Ata back to Bishkek - Kygyzstan 4K Travel Channel
The sun slowly sinks at the horizon. We still have approx. 270 km in front of us when we leave Cholpon-Ata, a place we liked very much. The road is now very well developed so that we make fast progress. Along the northern shore of the Issyk-Kul, we always see the 7000 m high mountain range of the Tian Shan. In Balyktschy, on the western shore of the lake, we come to the road which we took before we turned to the south shore of Issyk-Kul.
With the setting sun, we cross the Kyrgyz mountains along the Chuy River. Afterward, the road leads again along the border to Kazakhstan in western direction.
In Keng-Bulun we stop at the Adventure Restaurant Hawaii. Colorful lights decorate artificial palm trees, and many people are dancing. Old cars and a helicopter serve as photo motif and scenery. On a lake, there are small boats where you can also eat. But because of the advanced hour, we prefer a fixed place in the restaurant.
Already in the dark, we drive the remaining 60 km to Bishkek. Sergej had an extremely exhausting day as a driver, and he did a fantastic job.
........
please read more:

Know Your World With Nishi - Cholpon Ata
Kyrgyzstan is blessed with natural beauty with almost 2,000 lakes, beautiful valleys, gorges and mountains. Cholpon Ata is the resort town of its most famous natural attraction, the Issyk Kul lake.
The town offers stunning views of the lake's blue waters and the snow-capped Ala-Too Mountains. It is a perfect place to unwind and relax by the vast and clear sandy beaches that resemble a sea. The cool breeze from the lake maintains pleasant temperatures even during hot summers, making it an ideal getaway.

From Jyrgalan to Cholpon Ata - Kyrgyzstan 4K Travel Channel
After visiting the Eki-Chat Yurt Camp in the morning, we set off after lunch to drive to the 500 km remote Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. This article describes our journey from Jyrgalan to Cholpon-Ata, our first stop at the north coast of Issyk-Kul.
So the route leads us back to Mikhaylovka, where we turn north. In Tyup, at the easternmost tip of Issyk-Kul, we reach the northern coastal road of the lake towards the west.
Not really the lucky day of our driver is Sergej. If he had to drive the rattling way to the yurt camp already in the morning, he now has a distance of 500 km ahead of him. At first, the street is similar to a secondary road. But, you have to watch out for cattle and sheep herds.
From Tyup, the road resembles our federal highway. But it leads through many villages and is over long distances a construction site because it is expanded here. Besides the police stopped us 4 times. The first time the policemen want to take a look into the trunk and at our luggage. Presumably, they are looking for smuggled goods. The second time Sergej is cautioned for driving too fast, after checking his papers. The third time he has to pay for exceeding the speed limit and the fourth time he is cautioned because he has not switched on the lights yet at dusk.
The north side of the lake is more populated than the south side. Here the climate seems to be a bit milder and the location is unique. In the distance, the 7000 m high mountains of the Tian Shan Mountains rise behind the lake, and in the north the mountains of the Trans-Ili Alatau. In the south, you have the more beautiful nature for hiking and trekking tours.
At the entrance to Cholpon-Ata, we pass a huge modern building. It turns out to be the entrance area and the grandstand of the stadium of the World Nomad Games. This is where the opening ceremonies of the first three games took place. The games take place every two years, the next ones 2020 in Turkey.
Some competitions took place in the Kyrchyn Valley, near Semënovka. Besides to archery, horse wrestling, and Kok Boru (Dead Goat Polo) competitions, one shows a lot of Kyrgyz cultures. Craftsmanship, fashion, singing, and dancing characterize the surroundings. Another highlight in 2018 was the performance of the German pop group Dschinghis Khan.
