ROAD TRIP ZIMBABWE: Travel Guide by 4x4 Camper for History, Culture and SAFARI

Welcome to Zimbabwe! This country has great nature, lots of wild animals, but also a lot of history and interesting cultural sights. We drive through the country from Botswana to see ancient rock paintings, rock formations, beautiful mountain landscape and many safari animals. We stay in the town of Bulawayo, experience the Zimbabwean culture and drive down south through Matobo National Park.

In the previous episodes you saw how we started this road trip in Cape Town South-Africa. From there we drove the Cape Namibia Route along the West Coast to look for animals in the Kalahari Desert. After that we crossed the border into Namibia, where we drove straight through the world's highest sand dunes in the Sossusvlei. We saw all the sights in Namibia and wend on a safari in Etosha National Park. After that we drove to Botswana and found ourselves stuck in bad weather. Luckily we got towed out of the mud, to continue the road trip among wild animals everywhere. Now we visit Zimbabwe and head on to the Kruger National Park, to finally deliver the camper in Johannesburg South-Africa again.

Our journey through Africa is part of a one and a half year trip around the world. We can even continue to travel indefinitely. On New Year's Day we started in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, the Canary Islands. Then you saw us in Oman, Cape Verde, Martinique, Saint Lucia, Tobago, Grenada, the Bahamas, the United States, Mexico, Ecuador, the Galapagos Islands, Brazil, Qatar, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Australia, the Philippines, Zanzibar & Tanzania, South-Africa, Namibia and Botswana, Zimbabwe is already destination number 25 on the big trip. We have also been away from home for over a year now. Follow us on this world tour, first in Zimbabwe and then to many more beautiful destinations in Africa! We still travel non-stop all year and film everything, with a new episode every week. Also take a look at instagram @woutoftheworld or

MAP OF ZIMBABWE

greetings my friends. this is a map of Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe is a landlocked country in southern Africa. It is bordered by South Africa to the south, Botswana to the west and southwest, Zambia to the northwest, and Mozambique to the east and northeast. Its northwest corner is roughly 150 meters from Namibia, nearly forming a four-nation quadripoint. Most of the country is elevated, consisting of a central plateau (high veld) stretching from the southwest northwards with altitudes between 1,000 and 1,600 m. The country's extreme east is mountainous, this area being known as the Eastern Highlands, with Mount Nyangani as the highest point at 2,592 m.

The highlands are known for their natural environment, with tourist destinations such as Nyanga, Troutbeck, Chimanimani, Vumba and Chirinda Forest at Mount Selinda. About 20% of the country consists of low-lying areas, under 900m. Victoria Falls, one of the world's largest and most spectacular waterfalls, is located in the country's extreme northwest and is part of the Zambezi river. Zimbabwe has a subtropical climate with many local variations. The southern areas are known for their heat and aridity, while parts of the central plateau receive frost in winter. The Zambezi valley is known for its extreme heat, and the Eastern Highlands usually experience cool temperatures and the highest rainfall in the country. The country's rainy season generally runs from late October to March, and the hot climate is moderated by increasing altitude. thats all. please comment and subscribe for the best maps. goodbye.

ZIMBABWE VLOG -Zambezi National Park SAFARI - what to do in VICTORIA FALLS (VLOG #007)

Victoria falls can be such an amazing destination, but once you've seen the falls there isn't much to do, right? WRONG!! We went on a self-drive safari in the Zambezi National Park and it was epic, we saw so much wildlife. Zimbabwe travel can be so rewarding when you know where to go, the Zambezi National Park is the area where the Zambezi River connects to Victoria Falls and it is quite raw and uncut. Dirt roads and many elephants sounds like a day I would repeat in no time. Don't forget to like and subscribe if you enjoyed tagging along. #DemiandMickey #zambezinationalpark #zimbabwe

World’s highest zip line – Zimbabwe

Conquering the fear: Michelle Hardie gets hooked on the world’s highest zip line in Zimbabwe’s Eastern Highlands.

Troutbeck Resort | Best Holiday Resort in Nyanga

Troutbeck Resort is nestled in the Eastern Highlands of Nyanga, just a three hours drive from Zimbabwe's capital Harare. Troutbeck is ideal for family, leisure and conference as the resort is filled with warmth and character. Spending a night at Troutbeck Resort Nyanga is one of the best things to do in Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe's highest peak, namely Mount Nyangani, provides the stunning backdrop. This place is definitely one of Zimbabwe beautiful places. The area surrounding resort in Zimbabwe resembles that of the Scottish Highlands, offering guests with a truly tranquil and peaceful atmosphere. And indeed One of the Best Resorts in Zimbabwe.

BEST PLACE IN ZIMBABWE 🇿🇼 | EASTERN HIGHLANDS | Nyanga National Park | Mutarazi Falls | Honde Valley

Zimbabwe is divided into 5 regions. Eastern Highlands is in region 1, meaning it receives a lot of rainfall. Region 5 receives the least rainfall, and these are areas like Matebeleland.

Eastern Highlands is in Manicaland Province in the eastern part of Zimbabwe on the Mozambican boarder. There are many attractions to this region which include; Nyanga National Park, Mutarazi Falls, Tea Estates, Honde Valley, Chimanimani, Vumba Mountains and many more. There are so many activities one can do at each of these locations. At Mutarazi Falls you have the Skywalk and Zipline. Plenty of animals to see in Nyanga National Park, Honde Valley has a nice scenic route where you can visit the world renowned Tea Estates of the Eastern Highlands. There is accommodation available there for those who want to visit and stay the night. This whole region would suit backpackers, hill walkers, mountain climbers, bird watchers, and scenic lovers. Farming is also prevalent in the region, with different types of crops and fruits harvested.

The family on my mother's side is from Honde Valley. It is my favorite place in the whole wide world. I am happy that my brothers, who have been living away in Ireland for while, are also starting to see the beauty of Honde Valley and Zimbabwe as a whole. We might be going through economic difficulties as a country but that's only monetary, just 1 aspect of life. That doesn't take away from the beauty of the country and the people that live in its boarders. The rains come every year and life goes on. People in region 1 are not affected by extreme poverty because they can count on the land and the rains to produce food.

There is a saying there, 'NO FOOD FOR THE LAZY MAN'.

I do these videos to promote areas like Honde Valley and Eastern Highlands to show you the gorgeous side of Africa that they do not show you. I grow in Mutare the city, so I am very familiar with this whole area and it is very dear to my heart. Home Sweet Home.

My brothers Ozmond and Solly both enjoyed their time in Zimbabwe. They have since written articles about their experience on medium, Like and follow their pages. The links are below.

Zimbabwe's Official Destination Video 2021

SUBSISTENCE FARMING, Fish Farming, Growing Maize, Coffee, Tea & Bananas

Honde Valley receives the most rainfall in Zimbabwe, making it prime for agriculture. The landscape is now covered with banana plants, making them the biggest income earners for local farmers. Tea and coffee are also popular, and maize which is seasonal. Honde Valley has its own micro-climate, making it unique to Zimbabwe. It has red soils which are very fertile and rich in iron and aluminium. Honde Valley can be described as very hot and wet, similar to tropical areas, which are not common in Southern Africa. This is why Honde Valley is unique. It is also close to the Mozambique border, with a new boarder post currently under construction. This is definitely going to boost the local economy, and hopefully bring more trade, investment and tourism to the area.

Other places similar to Honde Valley are Burma Valley in Bvumba, Mutare. It has the same landscape and climate, but not on the grand scale of Honde Valley. Chipinge and Chimanimani are also similar, known for growing tea, coffee, bananas and macadamia nuts. Chimanimani is very mountainous, with a national park, and is very popular with tourists. These places all have their greatness, but for me Honde Valley is still number one, because I have roots there. What makes me proud is that, all the places I just mentioned are in Manicaland Province, my home province. Not enough is done to promote and develop the province, and it is time this changed. Hence me doing these videos, to show not only Zimbabweans, but the world that Zimbabwe, is a very special place. The bread basket of Africa for sure!!!!
