Cheap AND Safe Places in Indiana
Inflation got you down? Maybe you're thinking about finding a cheaper way of life. If so, maybe you're considering Indiana. It's one of the most affordable states in the nation. It has a little bit of everything, too. Major city? Check. Suburbs? Check. Farmland and small towns? Check. The Hoosier State has a low cost of living, compared to many other places, especially when compared to the coastal states. The state also has cities and towns where there's very little crime. So, if you're looking for a new place to call home, where you don't have to worry about being robbed, and you can afford to buy a home and save some of what you make, watch this video for my eight recommendations.
The USDA Rural Development Program has loans designed to help homebuyers in rural areas buy a home with little to no money down. For more information, here is the link:

CHESTERTON — COMMUNITY SERIES
“An Art-Centric Community” — Being an artist living in the shadow of the Indiana Dunes is like a designer living next door to Frank Lloyd Wright—it’s almost impossible not to be inspired to create your own works of art.
That’s probably why Chesterton is home to a surprising number of artists—like Holly Jackson and her vibrant, Matisse-inspired paintings, which she sells at her downtown studio , Craig Berg and his Indiana Dunes photography, which can be purchased at his restaurant, Duneland Pizza and Dunes Photography, and several other regional artists whose works can be found at the Chesterton Art Center.
Chesterton is one of the best towns in the area to find dunescapes and other art pieces influenced by our gorgeous, national ecological treasure, and is only a five-minute drive to the Indiana Dunes State Park and Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore.
Even beyond its art scene, Chesterton is a place to enjoy festivals annually, the renowned European Market from May to October, and unique restaurants and shops year round.

Full Episode: Indiana Dunes | Main Streets
Formed more than 10-thousand years ago by glaciers, the area was first home the Miami and Potawatomi tribes. The area quickly thrived thanks to its location to not just Lake Michigan, but also rivers –helping the fur trade and eventually steel production, flourish. But water wasn’t the only mode of transpiration that brought in commerce. Railroads brought in goods and people.
Today, the Indiana Dunes are a hot spot for visitors in the Midwest and beyond.
