Taicang, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Jiangsu Province, is under the administration of Suzhou City, located in southeastern Jiangsu Province, on the south bank of the Yangtze River estuary, between 31°20′-31°45′ N latitude and 120°58′-121°20′ E longitude. It is bordered by the Yangtze River to the east, and Chongming Island to the other side of the river, Baoshan District and Jiading District of Shanghai to the south, Kunshan City to the west, and Changshu City to the north. The total area is 809.93 square kilometers. Taicang City belongs to the humid climate zone in the southern part of the northern subtropics, which is characterized by abundant light, four distinct seasons, warm and cold in spring and autumn, hot and rainy in summer, and cold and little rain in winter. As of April 2020, Taicang has 6 towns, 2 streets and 1 economic development zone under its jurisdiction. The municipal government is located in Lou Dong Street, No. 99, County Palace East Street. According to the data of the seventh national census, as of November 1, 2020, the resident population of Taicang was 831,113, accounting for 6.52% of Suzhou City.
Taicang Prefecture was established in the tenth year of Hongzhi in Ming Dynasty (1497); in the first year of the Republic of China (1912), it was named Taicang County; in March 1993, the county was abolished and Taicang City was established. In Taicang, there are such tourist attractions as Jincang Lake National Water Conservancy Scenic Area, Taicang Modern Agricultural Park, Taicang Shaxi Ancient Town and Trap Mountain Park. It was awarded the honorary titles of Hometown of Chinese Folk Culture and Arts in 2018-2020, National Sanitary City (District), Demonstration City of Healthy City Construction in 2018, the fourth batch of National Ecological Civilization Construction Demonstration Cities and Counties, and National Model City (County) of Double Support.

Changshu Shajiabang·Yushan Shanghu Tourist Area is a 5A-level tourist attraction. In 2018, the national health city (district) was re-confirmed.
Changshu City is located in the forefront of China's county-level economic, cultural, financial, commercial, exhibition and shipping centers. Suzhou (pronunciation: Soochow) is a major city located in southeastern Jiangsu Province of East China, about 100 km (62 mi) northwest of Shanghai. It is a major economic center and focal point of trade and commerce, and the second largest city in the province, after its capital Nanjing. The city is situated on the lower reaches of the Yangtze River and the shores of Lake Tai and belongs to the Yangtze River Delta region. Administratively, Suzhou is a prefecture-level city with a population of 4.33 million in its city proper, and a total resident population (as of 2013) of 10.58 million in its administrative area. Its urban population grew at an unprecedented rate of 6.5% between 2000 and 2014, which is the highest among cities with more than 5 million people.
Founded in 514 BC, Suzhou has over 2,500 years of history, with an abundant display of relics and sites of historical interest. Around AD 100, during the Eastern Han Dynasty, it became one of the ten largest cities in the world mostly due to emigration from Northern China. Since the 10th-century Song dynasty, it has been an important commercial center of China. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, Suzhou was a national economic, cultural, and commercial center, as well as the largest non-capital city in the world, until the 1860 Taiping Rebellion. When Li Hongzhang and Charles George Gordon recaptured the city three years later, Shanghai had already taken its predominant place in the nation. Since major economic reforms began in 1978, Suzhou has become one of the fastest growing major cities in the world, with GDP growth rates of about 14% in the past 35 years. With high life expectancy and per capita incomes, Suzhou's Human Development Index ratings is roughly comparable to a moderately developed country, making it one of the most highly developed and prosperous cities in China.
Suzhou is also one of the top 50 science cities in the world by scientific research as tracked by the Nature Index, and home to multiple major universities in China, including Soochow University, Suzhou University of Science and Technology and Changshu Institute of Technology.
The city's canals, stone bridges, pagodas, and meticulously designed gardens have contributed to its status as one of the top tourist attractions in China. The Classical Gardens of Suzhou were added to the list of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1997 and 2000. Suzhou is often dubbed the Venice of the East or Venice of China.

The ancient relics and structures of Changzhou are in abundance, and places like Tianning Temple, Dongpo Garden, and the historical ruins park of Weidun all manifest Changzhou's profound historical heritage.
Nanshan's bamboo forests and the hot springs of Tianmu Lake are both some of Changzhou's precious natural resources. In the Summer you can come cool off and escape the summer heat, while in the winter you can comfortably soak in the hot water.
Most travellers will breeze through Changzhou on their way to Suzhou or Nanjing but those with a bit of time can spend a pleasant day exploring the city's somewhat agrestic charms.
【Geographic Location】 Changzhou, located in southern Jiangsu province, is seated in the center of the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) region. The city borders the Yangtze River in the north and the Taihu Lake in the south. It is halfway between Shanghai and Nanjing and neighbors both Suzhou and Wuxi. Changzhou, belonging to the northern subtropical monsoon region, enjoys a warm climate, good weather and distinctive seasons. 【Tourist Attractions】Changzhou has 36 national A-class scenic spots, including three 5A, eleven 4A, and fourteen 3A attractions. There are also six key villages for rural tourism at or above the provincial level.
【Cultural Heritage】In 2014, the Grand Canal was added to UNESCO' s World Heritage List. Thus, the Changzhou Section of the Grand Canal has become the city's first world-class heritage site. The city has also preserved the Yancheng Ruins, the Helu Ruins, and several national-level ancient towns or villages such as Jiaoxi and Yangqiao.
【Traditional Crafts】Among many of Changzhou’s folk crafts, there are 13 items on the list of national intangible cultural heritage, including Jintan paper-cutting, Changzhou comb, green-retaining bamboo carving, and random-stitch embroidery. Among them, Jintan paper-cutting has been inscribed onto the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
