DALAHICAN FISH PORT of Lucena City | Biggest Seafood Market Bagsakan in Quezon Province!

DALAHICAN FISH PORT of Lucena City | Biggest Seafood Market Bagsakan in Quezon Province, Philippines

This was our visit to the Dalahican Fish Port on a Saturday afternoon.
The fish port is a government-owned and controlled corporation which is situated at Barangay Dalahican - only about 5 kilometers away from the city proper.
According to vendors, it just so happened that there were fewer deliveries that came during our visit. Fishes/seafoods are being brought at the port both by fishing vessels and overland vehicles that come from different areas around Quezon, Bicol, Laguna and Batangas. Best time to visit is early morning from 5AM until 9AM (arrival of fishing vessels) and 4 PM til 9 PM (delivery trucks arrival).

Calauag Quezon Morning Walk Philippines 2022 | 4K Ultra HD
The town proper is serenely nestled between a mountain and a sea and so strategically located yet accessible to land and sea transportation. Passing by along the hilly portion of the Maharlika Highway, one could take a glimpse of the whole town with the picturesque view of Calauag-Lamon Bay in the background and further on, the vastness of Pacific Ocean. The townsfolk who are genial and peace loving still maintain the age-old tradition and customs and the close-knit family ties even at this modern age.

The name Calauag was derived from an incident in which a huge turtle known locally as KALA was caught near the seashore of the town. When the people tried to kill the turtle with sticks, the fishermen who caught the turtle dissuaded them from doing so by shouting KALA-HUWAG KALA, hence the derivation of the name Calauag.

The first elected Captain of the town was Juan Sunog. In 1897 the town was placed the Revolutionary Government and Alipio Declaro became the Municipal President. In 1914 under Municipal President Marciano Roldan, the town was destroyed by fire for the first time in its history. In December 24, 1941, the town was occupied by the Japanese Imperial Army and in January 14, 1942, the town was again destroyed by fire. In April 19, 1945, the United States and Filipino forces liberated the town from Japanese occupation.

Calauag, officially the Municipality of Calauag, is a 1st class municipality in the province of Quezon, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 71,809 people. It is about 232 kilometres southeast of Manila and 95 kilometres east from Lucena, the capital of Quezon.

This restaurant is not located at the town proper, you can check the exact location on google map and some signboard around the area you wouldnt like to be drop from afar like what happened to us. If you are travelling from Lucena Grand terminal you can ride a bus via Tagkawayan/Guinyangan (120php). They offer lots of delicious seafood like Calamares , Sinigang na Sugpo , Sweet and Spicy Crab and Shrimp, Tempura. one best delicacies in this area are foods that are cooked with crabs that you wouldn't ever forget how it taste and it satisfies your cravings. they also have a festival called Alimango festival. they celebrate this event cause in this municipality one of their source of income are marine products mostly are Alimango's.

Pulong Pasig Sandbar | Calauag Quezon Province | 4K

Get ready for an unforgettable long weekend adventure! From August 23 to 26, 2024, Metro Manila will be buzzing as people set off on their mini-vacations. I took the chance to explore the hidden gem of Calauag in Quezon Province, and it was nothing short of magical. 🌴✨

Imagine a tropical paradise at the Pulong Pasig Sandbar—crystal-clear waters and pristine sands that will steal your breath away. We also chilled at a serene river resort where the water was refreshingly cold and clear. On our final night, we watched a Disco party at a lively barangay fiesta in Barangay Lagay, Calauag. What a blast!

Our trip was a double celebration: the birthday of our wonderful host and the vibrant barangay fiesta. We feasted on mouthwatering seafood, including bisugo fish, crabs, and octopus, alongside succulent meat dishes. 🍤🦀

This video is the first part of our two-part series, featuring our arrival and our time at the stunning Pulong Pasig Sandbar. I was supposed to end it in one video but it's too long. So I decided to make it a series. Stay tuned for more adventures! 🎥🌊

Pulong Pasig, Calauag Quezon

#pulongpasig #beachlife #xiaomi #dji #gopro #goprohero8black #ksc2021

Pulong Pasig is located in Calauag in Quezon Province. It is an uninhabited island with unspoiled resources. It also has white sand, beach, crystal clear water and with a nice sandbar. Since it is unpopulated, you are required to bring everything you need. The place is not yet regulated by the local government of Calauag, so steppng to the island is free. You just have to pay for the rental services of a small motorized boat that will bring you there. It is accessible by boat, first from the pier of Calauag that will take you to Pangahoy, then another boat that will take you to the island. You will have plenty of time to enjoy the island because there is only one boat in Calauag port that goes to Pangahoy and it leaves at 7AM. Then the last trip from Pangahoy to Calauag will be at 4PM. Just tell the boat owner to pick you up at a specified time so you can catch the boat that goes back to Calauag. You can also stay overnight but for safety concerns, just spend the whole day there.
Closer to Manila is the small unruffled island of Pulong Pasig where a 670-meter-long sandbar can be found. It takes about five hours to drive to the town of Calauag, Quezon, where you have to take a rather thrilling two-part boat ride going to Pulong Pasig. Although the boat ride might be a little grueling for some, reaching the sandbar will reward you with an amazing view of a long sandbar that seems to reach out to a little mangrove island from afar.
Aside from cogon grass, Bermuda grass also grows in abundance. Part of the perimeter of the island is covered with mangroves. Other parts of the beach are made up of either white sand or rocks. The entrance to the island (distance from the shore is about one kilometer) is good for snorkeling because it has colonies of live corals. During low tide, the corals can be clearly seen from a boat.
If you are looking for unique islands in the Philippines offering a unique experience, you can visit this island in the southernmost tip of Quezon Province.
It is not yet a developed tourist destination but has a potential to become one. Home to a kilometre long sand bar and a marine sanctuary with tons of variety of fishes and corals, this island located at eastern part of Calauag is one of the places to be whether you are an intrepid traveller or pleasure seeker. For divers, there is a marine sanctuary (Balagbag Reef and Fish Sanctuary) present in the area, home to numerous marine species.
