BEST Thing to Do in CAGAYAN DE ORO Philippines - Whitewater Rafting
Cagayan de Oro has been named the adventure capital of the Philippines and the whitewater rafting adventure on the Cagayan de Oro River is one of the big reasons why. It is a 2 hour tour that takes you through 14 rapids. In the rainy season, there is the option to take an even longer tour with more rapids. This was both Abby's and my first time to do whitewater rafting and I can't think of a better place to do it than in CDO because it is beginner friendly with safe and knowledgeable guides. The views are beautiful too. I absolutely recommend whitewater rafting when you go to Cagayan de Oro City.

The City of Cagayan de Oro is a 1st class highly urbanized city in the region of Northern Mindanao, Philippines. It is the capital of the province of Misamis Oriental where it is geographically situated but governed administratively independent from the provincial government. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 728,402 people. Cagayan de Oro also serves as the regional center and business hub of Northern Mindanao, and part of the growing Metropolitan Cagayan de Oro area, which includes the city of El Salvador, the towns of Opol, Alubijid, Laguindingan, Gitagum, Lugait, Naawan, Initao, Libertad and Manticao at the western side, and the towns of Tagoloan, Villanueva, Jasaan, Claveria and Balingasag at the eastern side.
Cagayan de Oro is located along the north central coast of Mindanao island facing Macajalar Bay and is bordered by the municipalities of Opol to the west, Tagoloan to the east, and the provinces of Bukidnon and Lanao del Norte to the south of the city. According to the 2020 census, the city has a population of 728,402, making it the 10th most populous city in the Philippines.
Cagayan de Oro is also famous for its white water rafting or kayaking adventures, one of the tourism activities being promoted along the Cagayan de Oro River.

Where's The BEST CONDO TO LIVE In Downtown Cagayan De Oro? Philippines
Most foreigners on reaching a certain age will settle in one place, rather than travelling around different countries. After living in a Cebu city condo for a lengthy period I travelled to different places, neighbouring islands in the Philippines. I've rented AirBnBs in Cebu, Tagaytay and Davao.
Now I'm trying out 2 different condos in downtown CDO - One Oasis and Mesaverde Residences.
In the Philippines, foreigners can stay for up to 3 years renewing their tourist visa every 2/6 months. The Philippines should be on everyone’s bucket list with its beautiful white sand beaches, fabulous idyllic islands, turquoise sea and stunning scenery. The Philippines is a traveller’s paradise and regularly included in top ten favorite places to visit in Asia and affordable, favorite world holiday destination.
Many foreigners/expats choose the Philippines as the best country to retire in Asia and live in paradise. The Philippines is one of the cheapest countries to live in the world with its low cost of living and all year sunshine. Retiring in the Philippines is affordable on a budget of less than $1000 per month. But do you want to settle in one place or move around the country?
Filipinos are welcome and warm people. Filipinos are often regarded as the most friendliest nation in Asia and nicest people in the world. English is widely spoken throughout the country. The Philippines is included in the top ten English speaking countries in the world. The majority of Filipinos are highly proficient in English, so it is very easy to strike up a conversation and make new friends.
