Passport And Visas Requirements To Enter The UK

Please note: Following the recent referendum vote for the UK to leave the European Union (EU), there are currently no changes in the way people travel to Britain. The following guidelines still apply:

If you're planning an adventure to the UK, depending on your nationality and your reason for visiting, you may need to organise a visa.

If you're an American, Canadian or Australian tourist, you'll be able to travel visa-free throughout the UK, providing you have a valid passport and your reason for visiting meets the immigration rules (link is external).

Citizens from some South American and Caribbean countries as well as Japan are also able to travel visa-free around the UK.

European Union citizens, non-EU member states of the EEA (Norway, Liechtenstein and Iceland), Switzerland, and members of the Overseas Countries and Territories (OCT) do not need a visa to enter the UK.

Welcome to my Channel,

My name is James and I live full time in my tiny van, however this is not just a van life channel. I enjoy travel, food and drink and making videos 🙂
When I turned 50 I decided I’d had enough of the rat race and working long hours just to pay rent and bills, life was passing me by and I needed a drastic change.

FAQ

Where is Helen?
Helen has a responsible full time job and two children so unfortunately she can’t join me on every trip. I really wish she could.

What equipment do you use?
My vlogging camera is a GoPro Hero 9 but I also use my pixel 6a phone and Lumix G80 camera for other footage
For editing, I used Premiere Pro on an old laptop but I’m saving to buy a more powerful computer.

Do you have children?
Yes I have a 6yr old daughter who lives with her mum but I see her quite a lot. I don’t usually put her on the vlogs and if I do, I block out her face for privacy reasons. I also have a grown up son.

How do you fund your lifestyle?
I don’t need as much to live these days since going full time van life but I receive a small percentage of income from the ads that YouTube put on the videos.

Why the sponsored videos?
I only accept sponsorship from companies I use and trust, this is my fulltime job and my income, it’s how I support my family. (I have Patreon if you prefer videos with no ads).

How do I contact you?
Please contact me here: james@bythecurb.co.uk

Aerial view - Historic images - Walkaround : Buxton Victoria Australia

Buxton, a rural village, is on the Maroondah Highway between Healesville and Alexandra, 103 km (64mi) north-east of central Melbourne.

It is on the Steavenson River, just short of where the river joins the Acheron River. Both streams are inland of the Great Dividing Range and are part of the Goulburn system. Buxton was named by a government surveyor after a place in England.
The settlement of Buxton began with farm selections in the Acheron valley in the mid-1860s.

History of Pavilion Gardens' Paxton Suite and Buxton - The New Pavilion Arts Centre, Buxton

Formally known as the Paxton Suite, the new Pavilion Arts Centre at Pavilion Gardens opened in September 2010 following a £2.5 million refurbishment project funded by High Peak Borough Council, High Peak Theatre Trust, DDEP and the Arts Council England.

This multi-purpose function, conference, presentation and theatre space offers state of the art facilities, full technical support and excellent service.

Since 2011 the Pavilion Arts Centre has also been the home of Buxton Festival and the Gilbert & Sullivan Festival with Buxton Opera House.

The history of the Pavilion Arts Centre and Buxton in general is captured beautifully in this short presentation.

Walk Through Tour of Buxton & More Engine Problems - Winter Vanlife Travel 2022
Bad luck strikes again and seems to be following us around as we continue to venture around the Peak District as van life is on hold for this winter.

Continuing our Peak District series by popping over to Buxton. No Ethel so Vanlife is on hold but we are still determined to get out and about and have some fresh air. We gove a walk around tour of Buxton and the things to see and do here.

A boring Sunday gets a little more interesting as we head off out to Buxton in the Rav 4 leaving our troubles of Ethel behind to enjoy exploring the history and the beauty on offer. Little did we know that our bad luck continues and follows us around as we have yet again more engine issues to contend with.

We tried not to let it dampen our spirits so continued our day, cold but soaking up the winter sunshine.

From charity shop bargains round 2, exotic plants and my favourite, squirrel watching we had a wonderful time.
We visited the paviliion and the not to be missed botanical gardens along with having a sip from the famous buxton water fountain to see if it really does have the promised healing properties.

We hope that you take to time to travel along with us and maybe get some information on the local area to get inspired to venture out there yourselves.

This vlog is part of our collection of Peak District videos and winter van life we are making as we explore the beautiful locations of our local area

🧔👧🧏🏼‍♀️💁🏽‍♀️Get to know us 🐕🐶

We are Oliver, Leanne, Tia and lillie. A family of four plus 2 dogs Martha and Mabel. From South Yorkshire (Rotherham & Sheffield)
After 3 years of being a family and the kids growing up fast we decided after Covid that life needed to be more fun so we took the plunge and bought Ethel, our van.
For our full introductions video

We love to explore and travel however with busy lives we fit this in when we can. Our 1st ever trip was a bit of a disaster but hopefully we are getting a little more used to van life.
Our maiden voyage can be seen in our video

We love England and still have so much more to explore.
