Exploring Chufut-Kale near Bakhchisarai, Ukraine
Having been settled for more than 1000 years, the fortress cave town of Chufut-Kale now exists as a reminder of Crimea's past. It is the most accessible of the cave cities in the region and is a great place to visit as you tour about Ukraine. Many of the buildings are completely run down but there are some which are quite well maintained, including a couple kenesas, the Karaite version of a synagogue. For 600+ year old buildings they are very well maintained and accessible.
Scrabble up the path and look down on what the city once was or stay on the main paths, peering in to the windows of the houses, gathering places and store rooms. Oh, and the views down into the valley are incredible, too.

4K Bird's view of Rzewuski Family's Pidhirtsi and Olesko Castles in Lviv, Province in Ukraine
Rzewuski family generations enjoyed very aristocratic lives in these 2 castles inviting kings and other celebrities of their times.
Most of them lived beyond 65 years old.

Known both for its castle and Basilian monastery of the Annunciation with an icon of the Mother of God.

Ukraine After All That; Before...2. Haunting/Haunted Odessa
Before boarding the Marshall Koshevoy we go on another interesting if random walking tour of the area near our hotel, the Yunost. We walk though the of an old sailors' home until we come upon the upscale Athens shopping mall. After a look around inside we head pack through a park to get some lunch and to pack. It is late afternoon when we board the ship. Next morning we ascend the Potemkin Steps for a guided tour of the center of the city that that’s us past several more well known landmarks. In the afternoon we elect to go on an optional tour that begins in the formerly Jewish Moldavanka District, visit to one of the few function synagogues in Odessa, and a visit to a Jewish cemetery where we saw a holocaust memorial.
All video was shot on location in Odessa, Ukraine on September 26-27 2007.

So, in order for more people to have a chance to understand what we are talking about, we present the ENGLISH VERSION !!!

The old synagogue in Mir, Belarus
The old synagogue is now a stationery store and a driver’s ed office. The famous Mir Yeshiva is now the local post office. This void in Jewish life in the area is not all bad in the eyes of Dayan.
