For the first time in Discover Wisconsin history, our crew hits the road in an RV for a classic Wisconsin family road trip! Our only mission: to experience the beauty, the adventure and the charm of Turtle Lake and Barron County (oh yeah, and campfires, s'mores, and stops for cheese curds).
No matter where you’re driving from, the drive to Turtle Lake is beautifully scenic. Upon arrival to Turtle Lake and Barron County, one is offered several fun opportunities of recreation, such as the St. Croix Casino, recreational trails, and great local businesses. The Hotel Bar and Grill is a spot that any visitor must give priority to. What once was a hotel originating in 1920, now serves as a full-time bar and restaurant. A unique history combined with a cozy atmosphere, impeccable service, and delicious food and drinks, say hello to your new favorite up north stop:

There are many well-known tearooms, delis, antique shops, and farmers' markets in the lovely honey-stone villages in the area. This makes them great places to spend time. Even though each village is unique, they all have the same classic beauty that makes the Cotswolds one of the most popular places to visit in the UK.

Taking a road trip to Disney World? Check out our pick as one of the best places to stay in Nashville in 4K. Tennessee is often a midpoint for travelers heading south from Midwest and Northeastern states. We've stayed in Knoxville and Chattanooga, but so far the Mint House at the Reserve in Nashville has been the best hotel we've stayed at. What's different and really convenient for family travelers like us is the all-digital check-in. There is no traditional front desk, after registration online, you get a code to enter the building and a code for your room. There you'll find you secure parking keycard, so you can then park your car in a safe gated parking lot...arrival to relaxing was literally 5 minutes (the time it took to walk to our room).
The place is really stylish and very clean. If you have allergies, this hotel has an air purifying system throughout and in your room. The room was very clean and spacious, and the beds were the most comfortable we've ever slept on in a hotel. Located downtown is nice too. It's near the freeway, but in a good way and in a safe feeling area. We checked in after 10pm, so being able to go straight to our room, make some food and have a good night sleep on our way to and from Florida, in a safe and super clean hotel was really nice. If you've driving to Florida as many times as we have and are used to the quality of Disney resorts, you'll appreciate how rare it is to find such a place that's not out of your way on your trip.
