BOGNOR REGIS Beach and Seafront Tour

BOGNOR REGIS Beach and Seafront Tour to take a look at this holiday seaside town on the South Coast between Worthing and Portsmouth. Come with me as I explore Bognor Regis to see why holidaymakers come here for their holidays or day trips.

Nestled on the south coast of England, Bognor Regis, often simply called Bognor, is a charming seaside town in West Sussex. Its history stretches back centuries, transforming from a fishing village to a popular resort town in the 18th century. Other nearby towns include Littlehampton east-north-east and Selsey to the south-west. The nearby villages of Felpham, briefly home to the poet William Blake, and Aldwick are now suburbs of Bognor Regis, along with those of North Bersted and South Bersted.

Bognor Regis boasts a beautiful sand and shingle beach, perfect for soaking up the sun, building sandcastles, or taking a refreshing dip in the sea. For a touch of nostalgia, explore the traditional fairground attractions, or spend an exciting day at the renowned Butlin's resort, offering family-friendly fun and entertainment.

Beyond the beach, Bognor Regis offers a glimpse into history with its connection to the smuggling past and its interesting architectural heritage. Explore the Alexandra Theatre, a local landmark, or venture out to nearby Chichester, home to a majestic cathedral and rich Roman history.

The town caters to diverse interests, with a vibrant shopping scene encompassing high-street stores and independent boutiques. For a taste of the local culture, delve into the bustling cafes and restaurants, offering both classic British fare and international flavors.

Whether seeking a relaxing seaside escape, a fun-filled family vacation or holiday, or a glimpse into English coastal life, Bognor Regis offers a unique and welcoming experience.

Bognor Regis is the ideal place for families. East beach is closest to the town centre. Other beaches include Felpham beach, Aldwick beach and Pagham beach. With its proven sunshine record, the beaches at Bognor Regis are a glorious place to spend the day with your family.

Bognor Regis, also known as Bognor, is a town and seaside resort in West Sussex on the south coast of England, 56 miles south-west of London, 24 miles west of Brighton, 6 miles south-east of Chichester and 16 miles east of Portsmouth.

Well known for its sunshine records, Bognor Regis has one if not THE best sunshine records in the UK. The coastline of Bognor Regis is very varied and unique. At low tide there are vast areas of open flat sands, making it ideal for families to while away the day.

Named the sunniest place in the UK, Bognor Regis is popular for those wishing to retire out of London and Surrey, having said this with the area's fantastic schools, the pier and promenade, parks and playgrounds, families wishing to relocate should not overlook this popular coastal town.

Bognor Regis Pier is one of the most iconic buildings in the town and a “must visit” for any seaside visitor! Visitors can enjoy a stroll over the tides, and it's a popular spot for local anglers.

Bognor Regis beach has a large promenade running along its length from Felpham to Aldwick. It is level and therefore easy to walk along. The beach itself is stones at high tide and sand at low tide. The beach goes along past Butlins, Bandstand, the Pier, and Sailing Club.

Well known as a seaside resort, Bognor Regis is located just 100 minutes from London. Bognor's location makes it the perfect location to visit and explore the south coast and great for a holiday or day trip. A real travel and tourist destination!

10 Most Hated Towns in England

What are the most hated towns in England? No matter how good a country is, every part of it can’t be loved equally. In fact, some parts of it are bound to be hated. Even the most fanatic lover of a country will love some parts of it less than others. I have heard some people complaining about some towns in England, the home of the Queen that some people are dying to live and work in. That prompts research into the 10 most hated towns in England.
This ranking is based mainly on the comments and complaints of residents of England and visitors to those towns. But it’s not limited to that since some complaints can be completely baseless. We dig deeper in researching these 10 most hated towns in England.
10. Slough
Let’s begin with Slough, a town in Berkshire, within the historic county of Buckinghamshire. This town is 20 miles west of central London and 19 miles northeast of Reading. You will find the town in the Thames Valley and within the London metropolis around the area at the intersection of the M4.
In spite of its location, Slough according to those visitors, is a town whose streets are littered with empty takeaway and full of packets or empty beer cans. This assertion hasn’t been contradicted by even just one resident. The quality of food in the town’s restaurants appears, kind of, made for losers who’re just out to eat as much unhealthy food as they can get away with.
9. Scunthorpe
It’s not desirable to find Scunthorpe among the most hated towns in England. Unfortunately, we can’t afford to take it out of our list because the facts obviously place it there. This industrial town in the unitary authority of North Lincolnshire should normally be the pride of Lincolnshire as its main administrative center. But the town with an estimated population of 82,334 in 2016 had many things going against it.
Residents of the UK’s largest steel processing center, also known as the Industrial Garden Town, are frustrated by a lack of the liveliness and diversity in the town only known for work. However, the loudest grouse that lists Scunthorpe alongside the most hated towns in England is the indiscriminate censorship and blocking of websites for spurious reasons.

Places to see in ( Selsey - UK )

Places to see in ( Selsey - UK )

Selsey is a seaside town and civil parish, about eight miles south of Chichester, in the Chichester District of West Sussex, within the historic county of Sussex, England. Selsey lies at the southernmost point of the Manhood Peninsula, almost cut off from mainland Sussex by the sea. It is bounded to the west by Bracklesham Bay, to the north by Broad Rife (rife being the local word for stream or creek), to the east by Pagham Harbour and terminates in the south at Selsey Bill. There are significant rock formations beneath the sea off both of its coasts, named the Owers rocks and Mixon rocks. Coastal erosion has been an ever-present problem for Selsey.

There is only one road (the B2145) in and out of the town which crosses a bridge over the water inlet at Pagham Harbour at a point known as the ferry. At one time Selsey was inaccessible at flood tide, and a boat was stationed at the ferry to take horses and passengers to and from Sidlesham.

According to Bede the name Selsey is derived from the Saxon Seals-ey and can be interpreted as the Isle of Sea Calves (sea calves are better known as seals). Edward Heron-Allen identified at least twenty different spellings of the place that we now know today as Selsey.

The parish has a couple of Sites of Special Scientific Interest. Bracklesham Bay runs along the coastline of the parish. Pagham Harbour falls partly within the parish. The harbour and surrounding land is of national importance for both flora and fauna. The shingle spit is also of geological interest.

Selsey Cricket Club was founded in 1834 and is one of England's oldest cricket clubs. Cricket had been played in Selsey before the club's foundation and a famous incident occurred in 1647 when a fielder called Henry Brand died, after being struck on the head by a batsman trying to hit the ball a second time to avoid being out.

Selsey had an RNLI lifeboat station and shop on Kingsway, east of Selsey Bill. The station was established in 1861. In 2014 Selsey had a Tyne-class lifeboat and a D Class Inshore Lifeboat which had its own boat house just off the beach. In 2011 Selsey Lifeboat Station celebrated 150 years during which period lifeboat crew have received 10 awards for gallantry.

At the beginning of the 19th century, Selsey opened its first school. In 1818 premises were granted to the Rector and churchwardens of Selsey which were on trust to permit the premises to be used for a schoolhouse or free school, for the gratuitous education of such poor children belonging to the Parish of Selsey as the said trustees or successors may think proper. The school was eventually taken over by the local authority in 1937.

Selsey was connected to Chichester from 1897 to 1935 by a rail link initially called the Hundred of Manhood and Selsey Tramway and later the West Sussex Railway. The light railway rolling stock was all second hand and not very reliable and the journey times lengthy. Various nicknames such as the Selsey Snail were attributed to the tram and comic postcards were issued reflecting its poor service.

( Selsey - UK ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting Selsey . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Selsey - UK

Welcome To The Video Of Today - Visiting Bognor Regis - Sussex

Bognor Regis Past
The history of the town dates back to at least Anglo-Saxon times. Bognor Regis developed as a small fishing village, and in the 18th and 19th centuries, it began to grow as a seaside resort. The coming of the railway in 1864 helped to boost the town's popularity as a tourist destination, and it became a popular spot for day trippers and holidaymakers from London. The town continued to grow in the 20th century, with the construction of new houses, shops, and other amenities.
One of the most significant events in the town's history was the visit of King George V in 1928, who came to Bognor Regis to convalesce after falling ill. During his stay, he made a well-publicized recovery and the town was granted the Regis part of the name.
Bognor Regis's seafront development has been ongoing throughout the 20th century with the construction of new hotels, restaurants, pubs, and amusement arcades. The town also has a number of parks and open spaces, including Alexandra Park, which was opened in 1891, and Hotham Park, which was opened in 1878. The Picturedrome is one of the oldest cinemas in the UK, built-in 1911.
The Regis Centre is a large multi-purpose arts centre that hosts live performances and events throughout the year. The town also has a long history of cultural events such as the Bognor Regis Music Festival, which has been held annually since 2013, and the Bognor Regis International Kite Festival, which is held each year in May.
Today Bognor Regis continues to be a popular destination for visitors and holidaymakers, with a mix of traditional seaside entertainment, along with plenty of green spaces and parks to enjoy.
