Big Bear is centered around Big Bear Lake, which serves as the natural hub of the area. There you’ll be able to spend time doing all kinds of watersports, from canoeing and kayaking, to jet skiing and boating. You’ll have the option of getting your heart pumping, or simply sitting on the water, or the shore, and taking in the sun and the gorgeous scenery. But beyond the allure of the lake itself, the area of Big Bear Lake has plenty of things to explore. In this video, we go over some of our favorites. If you’re a hiker, Big Bear has a ton of great options. You’ll be wowed by the vistas and panoramic views afforded to you as you hike one of the many trails in the area. But be warned – the trails are quite popular, so if you’re looking for a more secluded experience, you might want to hike early in the morning.
We also talk about really cool attractions like the Big Bear Solar Telescope, which allows you to look safely at the sun, and the Alpine Slide at Magic Mountain, a fun place to go tubing or sliding that is open all year round. We talk about the Big Bear Alpine Zoo, which is essentially a rehabilitation center for injured or orphaned animals, but also serves as a zoo where you can see them and learn about them until they are re-released into the wild. And much more. So check out this video today, as Viewcation presents: The Best Things to Do in Big Bear Lake, CA.

BIG BEAR LAKE CALIFORNIA 🐻 | BEFORE YOU GO | SUMMER 😎 EDITION | HISTORY, TIPS & THINGS TO DO
In this video, we're gonna check out Big Bear Lake California. These are tips on how you can enjoy your Big Bear Lake trip during your summer vacation.
Big Bear Lake is known for snow ski and winter shenanigans but people visit Big Bear Lake during summer too and they get to enjoy the lake during this season.
Roughly around 1845, Mr Benjamin Wilson was tasked to look for outlaws in Baldwin Lake. Instead of finding outlaws, he found grizzly bears. He said, it's just fitting to call it Big Bear Lake.
Another explorer, Mr Holcomb, was hunting for Grizzly Bear and found some gold instead. During the gold rush in 1860s, families have moved here and worked for mining companies.
Today, Big Bear Lake is one of the best places you can go for adventure and easy vacations. It is only two and half hour drive from Los Angeles through San Bernardino Forest. This is a scenic drive and a breath of fresh air.
Here are the things to do in Big Bear Lake during summer:
Enjoy the lake
In Big Bear Lake, you can do swimming, boating, kayaking and other water sports activities. One of the most fun things we did was the paddlewheel tour/cruise. For this, we used Ms Liberty cruise company in Big Bear. The sunset is a good time for this as it is not too hot.
The Village
The center of food and shopping in Big Bear Lake is called The Village. It has restaurants, shops and hotels for tourists. The place is good to walk, bike or jog around. You can also bring your furry kids here. The place is dog friendly.
Farmer's Market
Every Tuesday from 8am to 1pm. Big Bear Lake hosts a farmer's market at the Convention Center. Beside it is Wally's Saloon, a good American restaurant.
Stanfield Marsh Boardwalk
If you want to walk with nature in peace and with a lakeview. This is a good place to visit.
Big Bear Valley Museum
Big Bear's history is fun to know. To experience it is awesome. Check this outdorr museum to see Big Bear lake in the late 1800s to early 1900s
Boulder Bay
Boulder Bay is the best spot for swimming during summer. some people get to jump off the cliff which is fun.
Big Bear Mining Company
This is a tourist store for mining rocks and gold. They also have activities like looking for gold. Outside is a a cemetery, saloon and courthouse in the 1900s. They made some jokes in it. Be sure to read it.

10 Best Mountain Towns in The United States
10 Best Mountain Towns in The United States
I've been asked many times to make a list of the best mountain towns.
These are some of the best I have ever visited. Let me know in the comment section which ones you liked or is there some you think should be on the list?
If you enjoy these videos I would love to hear about it. Most of these videos are made to help people who are thinking about relocating, looking for real estate, or just wanting to learn about the United States. We look at the best and worst cities, states, towns, and neighborhoods in the United States. But, most of the time focus on the negative side of locations. If you only want some happy positive information about a city, town, or state, I would suggest looking up local mortgage and real estate companies or maybe the locations website. They are trying to sell you something so it will be nothing but sunshine, rainbows and a bunch of smoke up your skirt. They won't tell you about crime, poverty, bail bondsmen, or insurance you'll need because of natural disasters. I will. And I will try and make it entertaining.

Road Trip to Big Bear City from Los Angeles, Covered with Snow - Pine Knot Trail, CA
Thank you for watching the video, please subscribe & support for more videos
In Southern California, if you are looking for a scenic drive, then drive from Los Angeles to Big Bear is one among the best, In Spring you can see fall colors, there is a video made in Spring hike in Pine Knot Trail, but in Winter in between December to March if you drive in Big Bear, the scenery will be very beautiful with trees covered with snow and there are many spots or stops along the way to play in the snow where they sell snow tubes as well for playing.
One of the best place for family to hangout would be Big Bear City.
Pine Knot Trail to Grand View Point is a 6.9 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Big Bear Lake, California that features a lake and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, running, horses, and mountain biking and is best used from March until November. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Adjacent to Aspen Glen Picnic area off Mill Creek Road. Oaks, pines, wildflowers, and spectacular views of Big Bear Lake abound along the Pine Knot Trail, which starts at the Aspen Glen Picnic Area and continues in a primarily southerly direction until it approaches Grand View Point (7,784 ft. elev.- located about one-quarter mile beyond the intersection of the Pine Knot Trail and FS Road 2N10).
This route is one of the nicer trails in the Big Bear Lake area. It starts from a campground and picnic area that is accessible with your car and ends at the Grand View Point overlooking the mountains and the forest. Along the way, you'll be able to get very nice overlooks over the lake itself. Towards the end, there is a small camping area (no water). The path is mostly dirt road. Look out for snakes and bears.
Info: Parking - Please buy Adventure Pass from any gas station or from visitor center to avoid ticket, the pass costs $5 per day or you can buy America the beautiful Annual Pass.
Restrooms are available near Aspen Glen Picnic Area, dogs are allowed but should be on leash.

Big Bear is SoCal's Premiere Mountain Resort
A lot of people don’t expect to find alpine scenery when they come to Southern California, but the Inland Empire’s Big Bear area abounds with it. Located at about 6,700-feet/2,000-meter elevation, Big Bear Lake and its surrounding peaks offer all-season fun, from winter sports at Big Bear Mountain and Snow Summit to hiking, cycling, water sports, and helicopter rides during the summer. There are even some unexpected attractions nearby (like bald eagles and Himalayan cuisine) as well as good wine tasting.
