Where to Stay in London? 4 Best Areas (+ Insider Tips) 🇬🇧
Do you find it overwhelming to choose where to stay in London? Then this video is for you. I'll show the 4 best areas in London for first-time visitors to the fabulous city.
I used to run my own travel agency where I customised trips to London so I'm used to the question: what is the best area to stay in London?
Frankly, it depends on your budget. In this video, I'm starting in Soho, one of the best areas to stay in London, but it comes at a price. The same goes for Covent Garden, another fantastic area in Central London. If it's your first time in London and you have a large budget and want to stay within walking distance of many of the main things to do in London, these two areas are perfect options.
I recommend staying in Paddington if you're travelling to London on a budget. Paddington is a 15-20 minutes walk from the world-famous Oxford Street, and there are plenty of different tube lines, so it's also easy to make your way around the city with public transport.
If you want to combine the best of both worlds, the South Bank or Southwark areas south of the river Thames is another brilliant place to stay in London. Here you can find plenty of modern hotels that are more affordable than those in Soho and Covent Garden, but you can walk to Covent Garden via the Thames in 15-20 minutes.

This week, we start the third part in a series of video walking across London looking for the 92 underground stations in Zone 01. We begin the walk at Edgeware Road Station in the direction of Paddington Station, following the Paddington Basin. We then walk south in the direction of Hyde Park. Passing by Hyde Park Stable in Bathurst Mews. After the Italian Gardens we have a quick look at the Rolls Royce Ice cream van before finishing the walk at Queensway Station.
