Albert Market is in Banjul on Liberation Avenue and is the capital's main urban market. It was named after Queen Victoria's husband Prince Albert Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. It is essentially an emporium that is pungent, lively and bustling with a large selection of vividly designed fabrics, carved wooden masks and fresh produce which is packed to the brim. All this is laid out within a labyrinth of alleys and hundreds of rickety stalls and purpose built shops. It is open from 8am to 7pm.

Monkey Park Bijilo Ecotourism Forest Park and Nature Trails: with THE DEE'S
This park lays within a fenced in area that covers 126 acres/51 hectares. After we paid our D150 (per person) entrance fee and began our walk through a small path, I thought that we had wasted our time and money, THEN we saw the monkeys!!!!!! Watch me as I try over and over and over to (mostly unsuccessfully) feed the green (also known as the sabaeus) monkeys shelled peanuts. I did not know that they preferred apples more. 😂 Mrs. Dee and everyone else brought apples, they had a more interactive time feeding the green monkeys. And they sure had ALOT of fun. The monkeys were very delicate and their hands felt like pillows, you sometimes wondered if they were really touching you. We didn’t get a chance to see the Temminck's red colobus monkeys, and the Campbell's mona monkey were shy, but you should expect to see them, various birds, goats (yes and they’re cuties), giant termite mounds, cows, monitor lizards mongooses, bushbabys, snakes😁 and many more! We wish we had more time in this sanctuary, we had a blast and you will too! Btw way everyone call this park Monkey Park 😂

Welcome to this beautiful forest park by the sea, perfect for a tranquil walk when in The Gambia. The park offers tropical views and cool breezes. You will be fascinated by how close you can get to these monkeys. They can climb onto your shoulders, head, and hands while you feed them. There's nothing to be afraid of; they are super friendly. You will watch them eat, feed their babies, play together, jump on tree branches, and clean themselves.Two species of monkeys are found here: the friendly Green Vervat Monkeys and the Western Red Colobus Monkeys.

We are going to cross the Gambia River, we are going to take the ferry from Banjul (the Barra Ferry Service) which is one of the Gambia capital's vital economic lifelines and an essential river crossing to Dakar (Senegal). The Barra Ferry Service journey time from the terminal and across the mouth of the Gambia River estuary is about 35 minutes and services start from Banjul at 7am and operate until 9 in the evening.
The Gambia is a small West African country, bounded by Senegal, with a narrow Atlantic coastline. It's known for its diverse ecosystems around the central Gambia River. Abundant wildlife in its Kiang West National Park and Bao Bolong Wetland Reserve includes monkeys, leopards, hippos, hyenas and rare birds. The capital, Banjul, and nearby Serrekunda offer access to beaches.
