Bann Rim Khum Kathu Patong Places to Eat & enjoy in Phuket.
So today we are visiting an area known as Kathu which is just a very short distance from Patong on the island of Phuket. Kathu offers so much more value when it comes to food and your pocket than Patong.
Patong being one of the main tourist areas in Phuket can often work out expensive and not necessarily give you the best food for the price but take a short drive/ride outside of the tourist areas and you will find a lot of better-priced options.
Bann Rim khum restaurant has a lovely backdrop surrounded by large ponds with part of the restaurant actually floating on the pools which are full of large catfish.
They offer a large Thai menu with a few options regarding western food making Bann Rim Khun a great choice for families, couples, groups, etc,
So join me as we take a look at something very different when it comes to restaurants here in Phuket.

Best places to see in Phuket Thailand | Phuket travel guide
Phuket is teeming with alluring sights, attractions and curiosities that may seem perfectly reasonable to locals but are riveting to the western mindset. There are best places one should see in Phuket. Some, like Phang Nga Bay, are wonders of Nature while others, such as Phuket FantaSea are most definitely contrived by man. Either way, they’re out there waiting for you.
FantaSea's
It's wacky but fun and very skillfully done. Trapeze artists, elephants on stage and pyrotechnics, amalgamate in a Las Vegas-style show. You'll see nothing else like it anywhere on the planet. Combining traditional Thai myths with disposition, fantasy and a loose plotline that keeps getting more and more mind-boggling, FantaSea's extravaganza is a highly entertaining and engrossing show that one shouldn't miss.
Bangla road nightlife
There are little things in this world to prepare you for an after dark stroll along Patong's Bangla Road. Nevertheless, a sense of humour and an open mind are imperative if you are looking to have some fun. In fact, there's only one indisputable and undeniable fact about Bangla, it's nothing like home. With its ladyboys, exotic girls, enchanted westerners (mostly male) and enough extroverts to fill a Disney cast of thousands, shopping and sipping a beer at Bangla Road at night is certainly a 'Dear Diary' moment.
Phang Nga Bay
Phang Nga Bay is unique. A day out here is an obsessive experience that will definitely get you thinking. A characteristic feature of the bay is the sheer limestone cliffs that project vertically out of the emerald-green waters. These islands are abode to sheltered fauna that is possible to observe on individual tours. James Bond Island and Koh Panyee are just two of the more famous spots in this bay.
Simon Cabaret
Simon Cabaret - probably the largest transvestite cabaret show to be found locally. This show features an impressive musical floor show performed by the iconic ladyboys of Simon Cabaret. See for yourself - guys, can you tell the dissimilarity? And ladies - wouldn't you just die for a figure like that? Fabulous costumes, glitzy and fun.
Old Phuket town
Sino-Portuguese brilliance and funky shops in the most unlikely places will surprise and relish you in the heart of Phuket's sleepy provincial capital. Phuket town offers much more than you think with some magnificent restaurants and local sights. The unique blend of colonial and Chinese architecture along with a tangible quaintness makes for an enchanting and unforgettable afternoon spent sauntering around Phuket's Old Town. Expect the unexpected and don't forget your camera.
Wat Chalong
Is one of Phuket's most famed temple and attended by thousands each year? It's beautifully adorned with infinite reflections from hundreds of teeny glass pieces and several pagodas. On specific holidays Wat Chalong hosts 'country fairs' with an authentic local flavour where you can procure anything and snack on Thai food to your heart's content. Wat Chalong has an engaging history and is Phuket Island's spiritual centre.
Big Buddha
Big Buddha can be seen from most of the south of Phuket, it is a recent arrival to the island. The image is placed on the top of the Nakkerd Hills and looks down over Chalong, Kata and Rawai. It took 30 million baht to construct and is 45 metres high. Adjacent to it stands a small, golden image that is actually made of brass and there is a sanctuary near the site's car park. The drive up to the Big Buddha takes you through the 'original' Thailand, and the view from the top is embellished if you make a map to identify the many, many sights.
Spend a day on phi phi island
The Phi Phi Islands are an island group in Thailand, between the large island of Phuket and the western Strait of Malacca coast of the mainland. The islands are administratively part of Krabi province. Ko Phi Phi Don is the grandest island of the group, and is the well-populated island of the group, even though the beaches of the second gigantic island, Ko Phi Phi Lee, are tripped by many people as well. Remaining islands in the group, including Bida Nok, Bida Noi, and Bamboo Island (Ko Mai Phai), are not much more than huge limestone rocks jutting out of the sea. The Islands are accessible by speedboats or Long-tail boats most often from Krabi Town or from various piers in Phuket Province.

10 TOP PHUKET RESTAURANTS + STREET FOOD YOU MUST TRY 🇹🇭 ft. @PaddyDoyle. @Chai_Travel
Today I'm giving you 11 of my favourite resturants and street food stalls for you to try on your next trip to Phuket, Thailand.
Phuket has some of the most diverse, easily accessible local food in the whole of Thailand in my humble opinion. With influences from China, Malaysia, the Middle East and even Europe, Phuket has some of the most interesting Thai food in any of the major tourist destinations in Thailand...IF you're willing to look for it!
Roti
Krua Hasandee (ครัวฮาซันดี้) is a local, family run Thai Muslim restaurant serving an array of Thai classics, most notably, their crispy, flaky roti with perfectly spices, rich beef and chicken curries.
Directions and opening times to Krua Hasandee:
Khao Soi
Baan Kway Teow - The Noodle House บ้านก๋วยเตี๋ยว serves up authentic Northern Thai food on the southern Thai island of Phuket.
Directions and opening times can be found here:
Guay Jub
Putthaisong Guay Jub (ร้านพุทไธสง ก๋วยจั๊บ) serves up some of the best kuay jap rolled noodle soup I've had outside of Bangkok and for me, this is a must visit whilst you're in Phuket:
Directions:
Khao Soi Ka Moo:
Although I’m banging on about the khao soi, the khao kha moo is also exceptional. If you’re into Thai pork leg stew, Khao Moo Boran won’t disappoint.
Both dishes were 70 THB (£1.55 / $2.10)
Directions and opening times:
Ka Moo Boran

100 Year Old Noodles
Mee Kon Lan (หมี่โกล้าน) has been serving up the same handmade egg noodles to their faithful Phuket customers for over 100 years in Phuket Town. We tried a few different types of Thai noodles, which were all delicious but the star of the show here are definitely the handmade bamee (egg) noodles.
We ordered:
Bamee Phad Sai Kai - Stir fried egg noodles served on a raw egg with pork soup - 65 THB (£1.35 / $1.85)
You can also get:
Rad Na Sai Kai - Stir fried wide rice noodles with gravy on a raw egg -
60 THB (£1.35 / $1.85)
Sen Yai Phad Haeng - Stir fried rice noodles served without soup -
60 THB (£1.35 / $1.85)
This is real Thai street food at its finest!
Directions and opening times can be found here:
Mee Ko Lan

Prawn Noodles
Directions to Ao Gay Prawn Noodles (Soup):
Burmese Food
Mingalar Coffee Shop (เมงกะราคอฟฟี่) is a great example of the different cultures that come together to make up Phuket Town. Definitely give it a try next time you're in town.
Directions to the restaurant:
Hokkien Mee:
Mee Ao Gea หมี่อ่าวเก (Mee Hokkien)
Khanom Jeen
Nom Jeen Phuket - หนมจีนภูเก็จ ร้านขนมจีนภูเก็ต for some, as the name suggests, khanom jeen
The curries here are a staggeringly cheap 40 baht - £0.90 / $1.20

The Most Extreme Railway in a City? Maeklong Railway Market in Thailand | Traveling on the Go
The Most Extreme Railway in a City? Maeklong Railway Market in Thailand | Traveling on the Go
What's the most extreme railway in a city? This Thai railway might just qualify. Just 2 hours west of Bangkok is the city of Samut Songkram which is home to the Maeklong Railway Market. This historic railway is a fast track for fresh seafood and other goods to make their way to the capital city.
What's so special about this market? Just imagine a thriving food market that later allowed a train to go right through the middle of it WHILE the markets stayed. YES, that's right the vendors here selling on the train tracks and only move when the train comes 8 times per day. Most of the Thai people are familiar with this market and call it 'The Umbrella Market.' This name is given as the vendors move up their tents or umbrellas as the trains arrive.
About my channel, 'Traveling on the Go' :
Traveling on the Go is my official channel, where I upload my travel vlogs. I’ve traveled abroad to over 43 countries while teaching English and operating an import company in the US. As I’ve always said, “ you’ll never know unless you try.” Don’t think about it, just do it!

Grand Palace, Bangkok's Most Popular Tourist Attraction
Bangkok's most popular tourist attraction, the Grand Palace is the former residence of the King and is built adjacent to, and more or less integrated with the Temple of the Emerald Buddha.
The palace was originally built together with the establishment of Bangkok by King Rama I and has been expanded ever since. It covers a wide range of architectural styles, ranging from the pure Ayutthayan style of the temples to a blend of Thai and Western styles for later structures. While the King no longer lives here, a large part of the complex is used for royal residences and ceremonies and is off-limits to visitors.
Construction of the palace began in 1782, at the order of King Rama I. Throughout successive reigns, many new buildings and structures were added. By 1925 the king, the Royal Family and the government were no longer permanently settled at the palace, and had moved to other residences. After the abolition of absolute monarchy in 1932 all government agencies completely moved out of the palace.
The palace complex is roughly rectangular and has the combined area of 218,400 square metres, surrounded by four walls. It is situated on the banks of the Chao Phraya River at the heart of the Rattanakosin Island.
The palace is divided into several quarters: the Temple of the Emerald Buddha; the Outer Court, with many public buildings; the Middle Court, including the Phra Maha Montien Buildings, the Phra Maha Prasat Buildings and the Chakri Maha Prasat Buildings; the Inner Court and the Siwalai Gardens quarter.
The Grand Palace is currently partially open to the public as a museum, however it is still a working palace as several royal offices are still situated inside. The palace is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Thailand.

Surat Thani Night Market - Talat San Chao - Surat Thani Thailand 2022
Surat Thani Night Market takes place every evening between around 5:00 to 9:00. This nightly event is very popular with the locals. If you are in Surat Thani for the night or waiting for the Night Boat to depart go along to look and eat some really interesting and authentic Thai food at very cheap prices.
Markets in Thailand traditionally are focal points of local community life and entertainment, and this is very much the case with Surat Thani Night Market. Its fun and a good opportunity to see the ‘real’ Thailand. It is also an opportunity to eat authentic Southern Thai food which you will not generally find in restaurants. There is also a range of foods which are foreign influenced and less spicy such as salads, sushi and fried chicken.
Surat Thani Night Market stretches along a pedestrianised stretch of road about 200 meters. The stalls are crammed in side by side along both sides of the road giving people a choice of around 150 different food stalls.
The night market is a great place to go. Since it’s in the evening you are out of the day time heat. You can also relax with some cool drinks to enjoy the evening.

PHUKET - Banzaan Food Market - Must See Thai Fresh Market at Patong Beach in Thailand
This is a tour of the Banzaan Food Market located in Patong Beach, Phuket. The Banzaan Food Market, or Banzaan Fresh Market as it is actually called, is easy to find as it is located opposite three large landmarks (buildings) on Road 4055 (Google Maps) namely, the back entrance to the Jungceylon Shopping Mall, the Bangla Boxing Stadium and the Tiger Complex where it is difficult not to miss seeing the signature tigers all over the building.
The Banzaan Food Market is by day a Fresh Food Market selling vegetables, fruit, pork, beef, poultry, dried foods and seafood such as salt water fish, freshwater fish, shellfish, crabs, prawns and did we forget to mention eels and frogs... This food market opens it´s doors at 07:00 a.m. and closes again at 17:00 (everybody is welcome). This Market is such an amazing experience to visit but very few European tourists visiting Phuket seem to have discovered this very clean fresh food market, which is very popular with the Asian tourists. The Banzaar Market has two floors, the ground floor where the fruit, vegetables, seafood, poultry, beef and pork are sold and the the first floor where there are some clothing vendors and the very larger food court where you can bring your purchased foods and have them cooked to your fancy at an agreed price, like a Thai Street Food Market, only you are the one bringing the very fresh ingredients from the market. Whether you are living in Patong Beach, or Kata Beach, Karon Beach or Kammala Beach the Banzaar Food Market is easily accessible for a fantastic day trip. If you are coming from Kata, Karon or Kammala Beach a taxi or tuktuk ride will bring you to the main entrance of this fresh food market for a reasonable pre-negotiated price.
During the evening the area around the Banzaan Fresh Market becomes a Thai Street Food Market from where you can buy all sorts of freshly made international and Thai Foods.
We hope you enjoy this no comments tour of the Banzaan Fresh Market with us (Maxi and Maro). Please leave a comment or LIKE if you enjoyed the video and also SUBSCRIBE to our channel to be alerted when we upload new videos.
