If you’re into learning about world religions, you’ll hit the jackpot in Thailand.
In this video we present you with 10 of the most stunning temples in all of Thailand.
Thailand is filled with magnificent Buddhist temples, some dating back centuries, others much, much younger.
There are temples in Thailand made out of wood, stone and even recycled beer bottles, but their grandeur is something to behold.
1. Sanctuary of Truth.
The Sanctuary of Truth in Pattaya gives new meaning to the word “impressive.”
Intricate carvings cover every inch of the wood structure, which is filled with traditional Buddhist and Hindu decorations.
It is a newer temple, a work in progress, as it began in 1981 and is scheduled to be completed in 2050.
2. Wat Phra That Lampang Luang.
Wat Phra That Lampang Luang is one of the most sacred temples in Thailand, home to a strand of Buddha’s hair.
It also is considered one of the best examples of Lanna architecture.
3. Temple of a Million Bottles.
The Temple of a Million Bottles (Wat Pa Maha Chedi Kaew) isn’t your usual Buddhist temple, indeed, it is one of the more unique temples you’ll find in Thailand.
The complex incorporates about 1.5 million recycled glass bottles in its design. Mainly green Heineken and brown Chang bottles are used
and bottle caps are used to create mosaics.
4. Temple of the Emerald Buddha.
The Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew) may be misnamed, because the only thing in common with Buddha and emerald is, the colour green.
The 66-centimeters (26-inch) high Buddha is made of jasper or jade.
Still, it occupies a place of honour in this temple on the Grand Palace grounds.
The Buddha, which is clad in gold, is believed to date back to the 15th century.
5. Wat Mahathat, Sukhothai.
Wat Mahathat, located in northern Thailand’s Sukhothai Historical Park, is an ancient temple that is considered the park’s most important and impressive temple.
There are 168 sculptures of Buddhist disciples with hands clasped which decorate the base of the main stupa, which was built to contain the relics which belonged to Buddha.
6. Wat Arun.
Wat Arun is known as the Temple of Dawn, but it might just as easily be known as the Temple of Magnificence.
This temple, which overlooks the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok, is nothing short of spectacular when it’s lit up against the night sky.
7. Wat Chaiwatthanaram.
Wat Chaiwatthanaram is an awesome temple complex in Ayutthaya, which is known as the ancient capital of Thailand.
It was built to honour the king’s mother and this temple is the most visited site in Ayutthaya.
Wat Chaiwatthanaram is situated on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, but even though the scenic river is beautiful, it is no match for this temple.
8. Wat Phra That Doi Suthep.
Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is one of the must-sees when you’re visiting Chiang Mai.
It's one of the most sacred temples in Northern Thailand. The temple’s name is often refered to as Doi Suthep, although, this is actually the name of the mountain it’s located on.
The temple, about 15 km (10 miles) from Chiang Mai, and is still a working Buddhist monastery that was built in the 14th century.
The top of the temple is decorated with a golden spire, surrounded by shrines.
9. Temple of the Reclining Buddha.
Bangkok’s Temple of the Reclining Buddha is home the largest collection of Buddhas in Thailand, including a reclining Buddha that is 45 meters (150 feet) long.
It's built on an island next to The Grand Palace, and this temple complex is considered to be the best of the royal temples.
Wat Pho is one of Bangkok’s oldest temples and is considered the birthplace of Thai massage.
An early centre for public education, walls are decorated with inscriptions on various subjects.
10. White Temple.
The White Temple (Wat Rong Khun) is a gorgeous gingerbread creation that is one of the newest temples in Thailand, being built in 1997.
Reminiscent of a fairy tale castle covered with snow, you could imagine this being home to a ferocious ogre.
A highlight of this privately-owned temple is the bridge of the cycle of rebirth, under which outstretched hands reach for the sky.
Across the bridge is the Gate of Heaven where two creatures decide the fate of the dead.
So, there you have it, 10 of the most amazing temples in Thailand.
If you are visiting Thailand, make sure you check them out.

The museum is situated right next to the peaceful Bueng Na Kham reservoir. Now as museums go, Ban Chiang is certainly of a world class standard. It has been open to the public since 1981, and underwent a major renovation in 2006..

Traditional Buffalo Racing - Chonburi Thailand 2022 - Unique in Thailand
Buffalo Racing is a traditional sport that is very important in Thailand. It is an expression of attachment between the Thai people and their buffalo. With these animals traditionally used in the fields harvesting crops they were invaluable for the country. When it is free time from work, the people will bring their buffalo to race in order to strengthen them by. There is no historical evidence to show when this tradition started just some clues that it might have started around the Ayutthaya era.
In the early part of the Rattanakosin era around the time of king Rama 1 and Rama 2 evidence of Buffalo Racing is found in The Story of Phra Abhai Mani, the wedding celebration of Prince Srisuwan and Princess Kessara. And later in the time of king Rama 4 it is found that buffalo racing was popular for gambling as well and there was even a gambling tax for this by law.
Today, Buffalo Racing is still popular in Chonburi province. The event takes place at the municipality and Ban Bueng district of Chonburi province. In the past, it was only the local people who knew about this, but it has expanded until it has become a symbolic traditional event of Chonburi province and more well-known both locally and internationally. This is one of the remarkable traditions of Chonburi that has been organized for more than a century.

TERRIFIED at Thailand's Most Dangerous Temple - Wat Phu Tok in Bueng Kan - Isan Thailand Travel Vlog
Book a bus to Bueng Kan here then rent a motorbike or taxi:
In this Isan Thailand Travel Vlog, we head to Bueng Kan - the northern most province in Isan, Thailand! After taking a minibus to Bueng Kan from Udon Thani, we were able to rent a motorbike in Bueng Kan to start our adventure to Wat Phu Tok.
Wat Phu Tok is the most dangerous temple in Thailand and probably all of Asia!!! Before arriving we were SO excited to visit this temple! In fact, Wat Phu Tok had been on our list of places we wanted to go for over a year! Wat Phu Tok has 7 levels that wrap up around a mountain. There are 7 levels to represent the 7 factors of enlightenment in Buddhism.
The first couple levels were very easy. Once we started going to the 4th level, there were 2 different paths you could take. We decided to split up so we could see both paths. The left path was really cool and went through part of a cave while the right path was up some very steep stairs. We met at the top and then took the path that went around the right side.....
This is when it started to get sketchy!!! The end of the 5th level of Wat Phu Tok, up to the top, was along crazy wooden paths on the side of a cliff. We thought we were prepared for this, but we were NOT!! We both got vertigo and were terrified at how high it was! Which was made even worse by the fact that we didn't see anyone else the entire way up! We finally reached the top and were able to find the flags at the very top of Wat Phu Tok.
On the way down we realized there was a different way you could take to get to the top which avoided the scary paths on the side of the cliff!! You can take this 'easy' way if you get left where the first path split meets as opposed to right like we did.
Even though this was scary, it's definitely the most unique temple we have ever been to and a MUST SEE if you're in Isan Thailand or especially in Bueng Kan province.
