Ireland
Ireland is located in the north-west of Europe, between latitudes 51° and 56° N, and longitudes 11° and 5° W. It is separated from Great Britain by the Irish Sea and the North Channel, which has a width of 23 kilometres (14 mi) at its narrowest point. To the west is the northern Atlantic Ocean and to the south is the Celtic Sea, which lies between Ireland and Brittany, in France. Ireland has a total area of 84,421 km2 (32,595 sq mi), of which the Republic of Ireland occupies 83 percent. Ireland and Great Britain, together with many nearby smaller islands, are known collectively as the British Isles. As the term British Isles is controversial in relation to Ireland, the alternate term Britain and Ireland is often used as a neutral term for the islands.

A ring of coastal mountains surround low plains at the centre of the island. The highest of these is Carrauntoohil (Irish: Corrán Tuathail) in County Kerry, which rises to 1,038 m (3,406 ft) above sea level. The most arable land lies in the province of Leinster. Western areas are mainly mountainous and rocky with green panoramic vistas. River Shannon, the island's longest river at 386 km (240 mi) long, rises in County Cavan in the north west and flows through Limerick in the mid west.

Dublin
Dublin is situated at the mouth of the River Liffey and encompasses a land area of approximately 117.8 square kilometres (45.5 sq mi) in east-central Ireland. It is bordered by the Dublin Mountains, a low mountain range and sub range of the Wicklow Mountains, to the south and surrounded by flat farmland to the north and west.
Dublin has many landmarks and monuments dating back hundreds of years. One of the oldest is Dublin Castle, which was first founded as a major defensive work on the orders of England's King John in 1204, shortly after the Norman invasion of Ireland in 1169, when it was commanded that a castle be built with strong walls and good ditches for the defence of the city, the administration of justice, and the protection of the King's treasure. Largely complete by 1230, the castle was of typical Norman courtyard design, with a central square without a keep, bounded on all sides by tall defensive walls and protected at each corner by a circular tower. Sited to the south-east of Norman Dublin, the castle formed one corner of the outer perimeter of the city, using the River Poddle as a natural means of defence.

Edenmore
Edenmore is bordered by the Ayrfield part of Coolock across the Tonlegee Road to the north, Coolock proper to the north west, Harmonstown west, the core of Raheny to the south and south east, and Donaghmede and Kilbarrack to the north east and east.

Edenmore is serviced by the Dublin Bus routes, 27, 27A and 104. Raheny and Harmonstown DART stations are also both short walking distances away.

Donaghmede
Donaghmede is situated approximately 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) to the north east of the Dublin city centre, and is in the constituency of Dublin Bay North. It lies within the jurisdiction of Dublin City Council and the postal district Dublin 13. Donaghmede lies west of Baldoyle from which it was largely formed, north of Raheny, east of Coolock and Balgriffin and south of Portmarnock.

In the northern part of Donaghmede is the Grange Stream, running in culvert from western Donaghmede, past Grange Abbey and flowing into the Mayne River in northern Baldoyle. Flowing through the southern parts of Donaghmede is another stream, the Kilbarrack Stream and/or Daunagh Water, culverted in stage in the 1970s and 1980s. It reaches the sea at two points in lower Kilbarrack / Bayside, though in earlier times it joined with the Grange Stream and ultimately flowed into the Mayne River, feedback Baldoyle Bay.

Route Visual for Sutton to Baldoyle section. Sutton to Malahide Pedestrian and Cycle Scheme.

Fingal County Council is inviting the public to view and respond to the preferred route for the Sutton to Malahide Pedestrian and Cycle Scheme. This amenity will offer a safe and attractive route to walk and cycle between Sutton, Baldoyle, Portmarnock and Malahide connecting local people to schools, shops, businesses and public transport. The proposed 7.5km scheme is supported and funded by the National Transport Authority and represents an investment of over €20m in Fingal. The route will form a key part of the NTA’s Greater Dublin Area Cycle Network and will link into existing walking and cycling facilities at the Baldoyle to Portmarnock Greenway and onwards to the S2S and the Clontarf-City Centre Cycle Routes.

Following Feasibility and Constraints Assessments and a Route Options Public Consultation, which took place in 2017, the project team have now published the preferred route for Public Consultation.

The scheme design will allow people of all ages and mobility levels to travel safely between these coastal towns while enjoying the scenic coastline along the route.

Mayor of Fingal, Councillor Seána Ó Rodaigh, welcomed the opening of the consultation. ‘The Sutton to Malahide Pedestrian and Cycle Scheme will offer a safe, climate-friendly way to travel to school, work or the local shops for those living in the area. I’m very pleased to see the development of this important cycling and walking infrastructure that both promotes a healthy, active lifestyle while nurturing the connection between Sutton, Baldoyle, Portmarnock and Malahide and will help sustainably support the growth of these coastal communities. ‘

Director of Planning & Strategic Infrastructure for Fingal County Council, Matthew McAleese, says the scheme will improve the local environment and provide benefits for residents, businesses and visitors to the area; ‘The Sutton to Malahide Pedestrian and Cycle Scheme will bring positive changes for each of the areas it connects, making it easier to travel from one town to another by walking or cycling as well as providing an attractive coastal amenity that can be enjoyed by everyone, including visitors to the area, regardless of their level of cycling confidence. It will also improve links to the wider cycling and public transport network across Fingal. We are looking forward to hearing what the public have to say on the route we have brought forward’.

The public consultation will remain open until 09 May so that all members of the community have a chance to share their views. Those interested in making a submission are encouraged to visit consult.fingal.ie where they can view detailed scheme designs and share their comments. Postal submissions will also be accepted and details of how to make such a submission are also available online. If making a postal submission the public is encouraged to mark it clearly as a response to the Sutton to Malahide Pedestrian and Cycle Scheme. All submissions must be received no later than 23.59hrs, 09 May 2022.

Following the closure of this Public Consultation on 09 May, the project team will consider all submissions as they finalise the preliminary design for the scheme. A planning application is expected to be submitted to An Bord Pleanála in 2023.

Baldoyle Bay - Dublin - Ireland - DJI Mini2

Baldoyle Bay is a sea inlet on the east coast of Fingal in Ireland, in the traditional County Dublin. It is situated between Portmarnock, at its head, and Baldoyle. It contains two small estuaries, those of the Sluice River and the Mayne River, and is sometimes called Baldoyle Estuary. The inlet is an important natural feature with protected status. It was once the site of a Viking longphort and later the fishing village of Baldoyle developed near its outlet to the sea.

The Sluice River rises to the north of Dublin Airport and flows in an easterly direction entering the sea at the Baldoyle Estuary. It flows through the townlands of Greenwood, Abbeyville, Kinsealy and Old Portmarnock before entering the sea at Portmarnock Bridge on Strand Rd. The marsh is 600 metres inland from the bridge and extends for a further 400 metres westwards where it borders the railway track and Portmarnock Raceway (trotting track). Malahide Golf Club forms the northern boundary of the site.

Dublin Bus Route 31D - DCU To Baldoyle

Thsi a re-edited verision of the video I have upload a few weeks ago, of the bus route 31D on the last day of operation. It only had one trip in each direction, one in the morning going from Baldoyle to DCU, and one in the evening from DCU to Baldoyle.

I re-edit the video to remove the first piece of music in the video, that was not liked by the viewers, and in turn that I kinded of disliked myself. When listen back to the music again.

A Day Trip to SKERRIES - Stunning Scenery & Recreation (4K)

I invite you on a virtual trip to Skerries - a coastal village in the Eastern part of Ireland.
It is 30 km away from Dublin and you can easily get there by taking bus 33a from Abby Street in Dublin. It will take you about an hour to get to Skerries and once you are there you can explore the beach and the green area beside the beach, you can visit the harbour and watch the seals, you can have a picnic. Normally Skerries is a place for the water sports enthusiasts but at this moment these activities are not available due to the lockdown. There are several good restaurants in Skerries - my favourite one is Stoop Your Head and my second favourite choice is the The Blue Bar. The restaurants are currently closed but you can get a take away and enjoy it at the beach. I hope you will like this video. I filmed it with my new camera GoPro Hero 9.

The first of Howth’s ‘hidden beaches’, Red Rock Beach is located on the southern side of the Peninsula and a moderate level of fitness is required to reach it.

If you’re taking on the longest iteration of the Howth Cliff Walk, then you’re bound to come across Red Rock Beach on the ramble around from Sutton.

A Hole In The Wall Dublin #4K #GoPro Hero 9

Today I am taking you to a nice sandy beach, situated between Sutton and Howth. It is called A Hole in the Wall, also referred to as Burrow Beach. The beach is small but offers spectacular views towards Baldoyle, Lambay Island, Ireland's Eye, and Howth. It is also a good place where you can spot gorgeous birds - in this vlog you will see a flock of Canadian geese.

I went on this walk together with Elaine, this is actually my last vlog with her before my trip to Bulgaria.
