Travel Malaysia: Salt Water Hot Springs in Ayer Hangat, Langkawi (ep 10)
This time we find a sweet take off spot for our drone to film some more pretty bits of the Kilim Geoforest Park. And to end the day, we met luxury at the Ayer Hangat Hot Springs. It was the perfect hot bath before a comforting dinner at Seashells (Laman Padi) in Cenang.
Credits to Langkawi Development Authority & Ayer Hangat Village for giving us the opportunity to experience this.

The island of Borneo is shared by the Malaysian states of Sabah and Sarawak as well as the Indonesian Kalimantan and the tiny nation of Brunei. While Peninsular Malaysia is celebrated for its bustling cities, melting pot of culture, tasty food, and beautiful architecture, Borneo is home to an abundance of flora and fauna, numerous ethnic tribes, and dense jungles. #travelcouple #foodtour #Malaysianfood
i can't believe our time in Kl has passed by so quickly, in these 6 very short days, we have fallen in love with this colorful city, and it's people, the amalgamation of cultures is evident not only in it's architecture but in it's unique and wonderful cuisine.
The diversity of cultures has created a gastronomic symphony of flavors with a unique blend of Chinese, Indonesian and Indian influences.
Our friends, Jimmy and Tah from divert living, have put together their own video, which is awesome.
take a few moments and check their video out if you already haven't
here's our top 10 favorite foods we came across in Kuala Lumpur..
and in no particular order
#1 Roti canai is an indian influenced flat bread.. (i'm famiiar with this tasts, as it reminds me of chapatis from back home kenya.. or the indian paratha
i don't know it if was just this place, but the roti was flaky and chewy all at the same time, and so so delicious.
Restaurant Al-Ashiq
# 2 Satay.. essentially meat on a stick, lots of countries have their own take on this.. and Malaysia is no exception. This is their version of this delicious delicacy .. it can be anything from beef, chicken, goat or even tofu cooked over a wood or charcoal fire, this is usually served with a peanut and soy sauce, although each vendor may have their own special sauce.. and we found the ones we tried to be a little sweet too
Jalan Alor Night Food Court
# 3 we most certainly can not forget our banana leaf curry experience in brickfields
Restoran Sri Kortumalai
# 4 chili pan mee.. this might have gotten it's influence from china, but this is most certainly malaysian..
Tang City Food Court
# 5 the ramly burger has been sold on the streets of malaysia since 1979 It is estimated that there are over 25,000 Ramly Burger stalls nationwide, The companies aim has been developing a clean and good-quality halal Western fast-food chain in Malaysia.

San Peng Street Burger Stall
San Peng Street Burger Stall
# 6 Cendol .. is an iced sweet dessert that contains droplets of worm-like green rice flour jelly, coconut milk and palm sugar syrup

Interactive - Air Hangat Village
The Air Hangat Village is a modern complex decked with an impressive three-tier fountain and an 18m-high carved riverstone mural, depicting the legend of the Earth-shattering quarrel that erupted during the wedding feast of two giants. This resulted in the spilling of hot water, which created the hot springs.

Biggest waterfall I've ever seen in my life. Temurun Waterfall & Ayer Hangat Village
The biggest waterfall I've ever seen in my life. I've never seen anything like what i saw on this day out to the jungle and waterfall and Ayer Hangat Village
Located in Datai Bay area, Temurun is a three tier Waterfall and the cumulative drop of the falls is about 200 meters. This is the tallest waterfall in Langkawi. The water stream flows down the northern slope of Mount Mat Cincang. The rocks here comprises mainly of sandstone & shale, and is over 500 million years old.
From the car park at the main road, the first tier is only a short distance away (about 5 minutes walk). The paved walk way is quite romantic and through the rain forest of Mount Mat Cincang. It's a gradual way up although some steps are steeper than the others. There is a railing on one side in most parts of the path way. Along the way there are several gazebos to take rest and soak in the nature all around.
From here we went and had a look around Air Hangat (also spelled as Ayer Hangat) Village is a modern cultural complex located 14km north of Kuah Town. The center of the attraction here is the three-tiered hot water spring wells. Most interesting part is that it is a natural salt water hot spring which is rare and can be found only in three other countries in the world. While fresh water hot springs are common and can be seen in several places, but not the salt water hot springs.
My advice is ....Just do it!! Hope you enjoyed, thanks for watching! Leave a comment on what video should I film next! You guys are the best :) thanks for following. Please remember to subscribe to my channel....doesn't cost anything apart from a click or a poke of the finger...

Things To Do In Langkawi | Langkawi Attractions In Malaysia
**Here I have discussed Langkawi Attractions and Things To Do In Langkawi.
Langkawi, officially known as Langkawi, the Jewel of Kedah, is a district and an archipelago of 99 islands in the Andaman Sea some 30 km off the mainland coast of northwestern Malaysia. The islands are a part of the state of Kedah, which is adjacent to the Thai border.
1. Langkawi Durian Perangin Waterfall:
This lovely waterfall has been named after the Durian trees that bear spiny oval tropical fruits and can be found in abundance around this waterfall area. Durian Perangin Waterfall is located at the northeastern side of Langkawi and north of Kilim Village. The entrance is from a car park and through small shops and stalls. this is one of Langkawi Attractions and Things To Do In Langkawi.
2. Langkawi Air Hangat Village:
Air Hangat (also spelled as Ayer Hangat) Village is a modern cultural complex located 14km north of Kuah Town. The center of the attraction here is the three-tiered hot water spring wells. this one Also Langkawi Attractions and Things To Do In Langkawi.
3.Pantai Kok, Langkawi :
The beach along Pantai Kok is dominated by mostly high-end upscale resorts like the Sheraton and Tanjung Sanctuary. The beach is beautiful with clean sands and clear waters but it’s the tourist attractions, as well as the relative peace and quiet, that makes this place so popular.
4.Tanjung Rhu, Langkawi :
Located just beyond Pantai Pasir Hitam, Tanjung Rhu has one of Langkawi’s best shorelines. The waters are as clear as crystal, the sand is powder-fine and driving towards this beach you’ll have to pass a dense corridor of the jungle.
5. Langkawi Oriental Village :
Oriental Village is best known as the home of the Langkawi Cable Car and Sky Bridge. It is a themed open-air complex with a huge lake in the center and an art gallery, animal exhibits, clothes, souvenirs, and handicraft stores spread out around it plus a few local and international restaurants.

Langkawi Travel Guide - Malaysia Exceptional Experience
Langkawi Travel Guide - Malaysia Exceptional Experience
Langkawi, officially known as Langkawi, the Jewel of Kedah (Malay: Langkawi Permata Kedah) is an archipelago of 99 islands (an extra 5 temporary islands are revealed at low tide) in the Andaman Sea, some 30 km off the mainland coast of northwestern Malaysia. The name Langkawi has two possible origins. First, it is believed to be related to the kingdom of Langkasuka, itself a version of the Malay negari alang-kah suka (the land of all one's wishes), centered in modern-day Kedah. The historical record is sparse, but a Chinese Liang Dynasty record (c. 500 AD) refers to the kingdom of Langgasu as being founded in the 1st century AD. Second, it could be a combination of the Malay words 'helang', meaning eagle and 'kawi', meaning reddish-brown or strong, in old Malay.
There is effectively no public transport on the island, so your choices are to use taxis or to rent a car, motorbike/scooter, or bicycle. ATMs and Money Exchange booths are available at the Langkawi Airport, at the Langkawi Parade Shopping Complex, at the main entrance to Cable Car and Skybridge, and next to Underwater World at Pantai Cenang.
Practically all resorts have their own restaurants and some tourists choose to eat in, but there are a many other options as well. Be adventurous and strike out on your own to savour the numerous foods at the stalls and restaurants all over Langkawi. Try one of the many seafood restaurants. Having said that, beware of certain restaurants advertised in the brochures targeting tourists.
If you are looking for accommodation, your best bet would be to walk along the beach and adjacent road at Pantai Cenang. Prices there normally range from RM70 to RM145 per room per night, on or next to the beach. There are lots of budget places on the northern end of Pantai Cenang in a small road back from the beach with ensuite fan rooms from RM50 and dorm rooms.
Langkawi beaches :
Pantai Cenang - The most popular beach in Langkawi, features fine powdery sand and many beachfront restaurants and bars. Located at the south-western tip of the island, 2 km long. This is also the busiest beach on island with jet-skis, banaboats etc. watersports. Along the beach there is market where you can find all type of shops (free duty, tour, bars etc)& restaurants. Unfortunately jellyfish are common here.
Pantai Tengah - Located just south of and contiguously with Pantai Cenang. 1 km long. Means ‘Middle Beach’. Peaceful and tranquil alternative to the hustle and bustle of Pantai Cenang. Jellies are found here also. All inclusive resorts popular with families.
Pantai Kok - Isolated, relatively undisturbed stretch of beach in the western part of Langkawi Island, 12km north of Pantai Cenang. Telaga Harbour as well cable-car ride to the peak of Mat Cincang Mountain and the Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls are located here.
Tanjung Rhu - northernmost tip of the island. Centuries-old limestone caves, mangroves, waterways, limestone crags and sandy beaches make it a nature lover's paradise. This beach is made up of 2 long stretches that include Tanjong Rhu Resort and Four Seasons. Restaurants, toilets, mangrove tours and sun chairs available.
Datai Bay - The most expensive resorts are located here.
Burau Bay - Beach lined with rocky outcrops located at the West Coast of Langkawi. Nearby Burau island is also a roosting place for migratory birds.
Pantai Pasir Hitam - Means ‘Black Sand’. The sand is mixed in white and black shades, due to rich tin and iron ore deposits. Tour buses stop here; souvenirs, restaurants, toilets available. During low tide you can explore the beach further west and find very tranquil spots for relaxing.
Pasir Tengkorak - Also called skull beach. Very beautiful small beach in the North of the island. Water is clear here. No proper restaurant, drinks & snacks available at the parking lot. No public toilets.

Langkawi
The Jewel of Kedah is a district and an archipelago of 99 islands in the Malacca Strait.
There are many suggestions for the origin of the name of Langkawi. According to one interpretation, Langkawi means island of the reddish-brown eagle. The Malay word for eagle is helang (colloquially shortened to lang), and kawi is a red stone used as a chalk to mark goods. This interpretation was used to create the landmark sculpture of eagle as the symbol of Langkawi at Dataran Helang (Eagle Square) in Kuah.
Next stop was at Ayer Hangat Village Langkawi. It is a Malay Village Complex with a strong emphasis on Salt hot spring (claimed as one of the 4 in the world) and the only salt water hot spring in Malaysia. They also have 12 private jacuzzis and spa and other rejuvenating services. For non-malaysians, the entry fee is around 10-15 ringitts.
The geothermal heat is the source of hot spring. This water is believed to have high content of Lithium, and even Radium since springs underground water are heated by the volcanic lava of Gunung Raya. Ideally temperature fluctuates between 38 and 40 degrees centigrade.
It has got various benefits including stress relieve, improve blood circulation, improve sleeping experience and so on.
Next day early morning, we started off for the skybridge. Stopped unknowingly in between for refreshment found a great view of the Pantai Teluk Yu beach which is near to the famous Black sand beach. This was a very good place to enjoy beach by sitting under shades of trees and cool breeze even on a sunny morning and enjoy fresh coconut or ice tea from the food trucks parked beside.
Waving goodbye to this little girl, we headed towards Oriental village, the home of Langkawi SkyCab and Langkawi SkyBridge. From the car park we had to walk till the sky cab ticket counter. This village is having a lake in the centre and an art gallery, animal exhibits, clothes, souvenir and handicraft stores spread out around it plus a few local and international restaurants.
To escape standing in the long queues (which is very common here), we tried reaching as soon as the ticket counters open. Ticket price may vary around 40 ringgits depending on from where and how you purchase.
The cable car took us up Mount Mat Chinchang (Langkawi’s second tallest mountain) which stands at 709m above sea level. The view is simply spectacular, the journey to the top will let you see the forested slopes of the mountain and even the Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls. We were off boarded in between at a view point to experience a spectacular view of the Andaman sea . Now, we reached the final station and then preferred using stairs to climb down to the sky bridge. They also have an inclined lift called SkyGlide, that takes visitors from the top station to the bridge for which you need to purchase ticket separately from top station.
The curved sky bridge is 125 meters long, and 1.8 meters wide (the middle section has a wider walkway), with two steel railings as well as steel wire mesh on both sides. It is considered as one of the longest curved pedestrian bridge in the world. There are 2 triangular platform at the 2 ends of the bridge which was our resting area along with some great views of the Langkawi and also the southern parts of Thailand. While returning, we climbed up to the observation deck on the top station, where we found a small open restaurant serving food & drinks. It won’t be possible to share the wonderful experience in words, unless you visit.
Next we visited to the nearby Telaga Tujuh ( commonly known as seven well waterfall).
Next day early morning visited Pantai Cenang or Cenang beach. This is one of the busiest beach in Langkawi.
The first stop was at Pulau Dayang Bunting. Here the island looks like a sleeping pregnant lady. Next we went to the position of 3 different hills, created an echo point. Next we got down at island’s famous lake — Lake of the Pregnant Maiden. Purchase the ticket and climb down the stairs to the lake.It is also called a bird’s paradise since you can spot various species of bird around.
Continue with eagle watching from the boat at Big Lions Island and completed the adventure with a stop over at Pulau Beras Basah (Wet Rice Island) where you will get to relax on the white sandy beach or take part in activities like snorkeling or swimming
Langkawi Island, with plenty of beachfront bars and lounges offers inexpensive alcohol and snacks, as well as live music and cultural performances until late.
The last day on Langkawi started with vising our nearby beach Tanjung Rhu, one of the beautiful white sand beach. Here the water is as clear as crystal, the sand is powder-fine. The area is absolutely secluded and the atmosphere is silent and peaceful. Bordered by intermittent limestone crags, Tanjung Rhu is gorgeously breath taking. From here, you can take the KILIM mangrove tour. #4k #kitajagakita #malaysiatrulyasia #malaysia #malaysiatravelvlog #tourism
