Kevin Duffy Rectory Nurseries Part 1
Kevin Duffy self taught or outsider Artist, lives in Ashton in Makerfield Wigan.
He bought a house next to an allotment field and began clearing the land,which took six years. During this time he began selling plants to passers by and slowley his reputation grew. Almost by accident he transformed the allotment into a business. He eventually sold the house and built a bungalow on the site where he now lives and manages the business with his son Carl.
The garden is a very special place, it is completely unexpected, despite being so close to the road it remains an unknown treasure. The garden did feature on the BBC northwest tonight programme in October 2006, where it was compared
to Portmeirion in Wales. Kevin is rightfully proud of his work and intends to continue developing and expanding it. The work is a life lond passion for Kevin, and he gets much pleasure from seeing people enjoying the space. A visit is highly recommended, there is nothing quite like it.

Garswood Station 16/1/19
The videos from our first proper mid week trip out we had back in January, where the aim was to visit all the Northern stations which are served by the Northern Rail electric services, these being operated by Class 319’s and 323 units. The weather wasn’t the best but we made the best out of a bad situation and got what we needed doing done so all was well by the end of the three days! Enjoy!

Fun City UK Fun Fair | Oldham, Manchester Funfair Vlog
Join us as we have some fun on the bigger, more extreme rides at Fun City UK Fun Fair, in Oldham Manchester Funfair.
Theo is BACK once again on the channel! For anyone who doesn't really know who Theo is, he is my 6 year old son who has featured on the channel since the age of 4! His presence and his ride ability brings together the family channel, that we are.
Close to M60 Ring Road, J22, is this mixed scale ground! With a whole host of rides to choose from, this fair will not let you down! Rides from Stealth Bomber Booster, Xtream Top Scan, Spinning Mouse Coaster, Sizzler, Waltzer, Miami, Frogs, Dodgems, Superbob, Snow Slide and plenty of juvenile rides too.
Details of this Fair are as follow;
-Opens everyday until Sunday 13th June 2021
-Opens at 12pm each day
-You can book online for this at but this isn't necessary.
-Rides range from 2 tickets to 3. (bigger rides being 3) and they do an offer of 10 tickets for £10.
-The Fair is located on Hollinwood Park OL9 7LG, next to J22 M60 and has limited free parking on site.
-Covid protocols in place. Track and Trace are strict here with sanitisation points around and regular cleaning. Masks are not mandatory but take one in case.
Height restrictions apply on rides. Theo is 1.2m. Please check height boards before assuming height.

66779 Evening Star Storms Bryn - 24th May 2019
GBRF's specially liveried 66779 Evening Star storms through Bryn station on the evening of Friday 24th May 2019, you can tell it's a bank holiday weekend as he sure as heck isn't hanging around. The Class 66 was on the Kelbits Stone job today which consists of two round trips from Tuebrook (near Edge Hill, Liverpool) to Kelbits in Ashton-in-Makerfield, this was the last run of the day and it shows, just look at all the dust getting kicked up ;)
It was great to finally catch this one as the last time it came near to Wigan I was out of the country, it seems GBRF are finally sending more of their special liveries a bit further north :D

Departing the WRONG WAY - LNER Azuma on Diesel Power
LNER Azuma Departing Leeds but heading in the opposite direction to usual. This is because of Engineering Works meaning that the line between Leeds and Doncaster via Wakefield Westgate was shut. We went on a diverted route via Micklefield and re-joined the mainline just before Doncaster. This train only stopped at 2 intermediate stations between Leeds and London King's Cross which was Doncaster and Grantham, it is very rare to have a train from Leeds to London King's Cross with as few calling points as this.
60085 passes Bryn - 09th May 2019
GBRF Tug 60085 passes through Bryn with the empty stone train from Kelbit's (Ashton-in-Makerfield) to Tuebrook Yard. This Class 60 is still sporting the livery of it's former owner, Colas Rail Freight albiet with the colas name and logo removed. This generally runs three times a week on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday though with it being a shorter working week due to the Bank Holiday Monday the diagrams were altered meaning it would run on Thursday instead.
If everything runs to time this shot is generally a risky one as there is a Blackpool bound stopper due around the same time and the short platforms and 4-car trains mean it would be a no-go. Sometimes it can run a little early like on this occasion, I was perhaps a little unfortunate in that the Signal ahead cleared as the loco was passing rather than beforehand. Tug 85 is a bit of a clag monster as far as Class 60s go...

The Sunday Yicker with 31128 & 37668 - 09th June 2019
31128 & 37668 are seen at Bamfurlong and later at Bryn with The Sunday Yicker charter by the Branch Line Society on oddly enough Sunday 09th June 2019. The BLS charter was heading from Crewe to Crewe via various parts of the North West, particularly some new track at Wigan Springs Branch Depot and the Kelbits sidings in Ashton-in-Makerfield. In the end the tour couldn't go into Kelbits but still went a little bit down the Haydock Branch, not that it affected the filming.
First up 31128 brings the train into veiw along the down slow lines at Virador Woods approaching Bamfurlong Junction where the red signal was cleared to a double yellow & feather so the Class 31 gave us a little bit of a rumble when passing by. After a while the tour makes its way back towards us having rejoined the up slow line with 37668 thrashing away from Bamfurlong Junction and passing the site of the long gone Bamfurlong Station before shutting off and coasting past us and towards Haydock Branch Junction.
It's not over yet though, they saved the best till last! Over to Bryn for the final shot where 31128 crawls towards the station before opening up and impressively thrashing Bryn Station full bore making the deceptively steep climb towards Garswood & St Helens... The tour was running rather early here and with nothing behind it for nearly an hour I suspect the driver knew he could play to the crowd, either way that's a shot for the highlight reel :D

Irlam Fun Fair | Manchester 2022
Join Theo and myself as we head to Manchester for Irlam Fun Fair on Prince's Park.
in this vlog, we take a look at what M.H Amusements have set up at Prince's Park for their short stay. Rides featuring Waltzer, Dodgems, Sizzler, Miami, Star Flyer and plenty of kids rides too. The Dodgems are the latest ride acquired by Hills group and debuted on this ground (may have been seen at DW Stadium recently too). You will notice that this and the pleasure dome waltzer was topless as this was their final day. This fair has already finished, but search for 'Irlam Fun Fair' on Facebook to see when they return.

GBRF Class 60 at Roby - 13th October 2018
Newly repainted 60095 is seen passing through Roby station with a special working from Doncaster to Tuebrook Sdgs. It is accompanied by 66753 & 66706 and was bringing a rake of wagons over in preparation for the inaugural service to the re-instated Kelbits siding this Monday. With the local press & railway media expected to be in attendance, it figures that GBRF would want to show off their latest acquisition though it is expected to be a solid T&T Class 66 working in the future (still better than nothing though).
Roby is located a few miles away from Liverpool Lime Street and we can see right up to Huyton station where the 60 comes into view and heads towards us. It's definitely a station to visit once the Class 68s start the new Loco Hauled Transpennine services this Winter :)
