The church of Santa Maria della Carità is a Catholic place of worship, located in the historic center of Ascoli Piceno in the central Piazza Roma, along the axis of the thistle, a stone's throw from the famous Piazza del Popolo. It is commonly called by the citizens of Ascoli, the church of the Scopa from the name of the Confraternity of the Disciplined, whose adherents, during the processions, procured corporal punishment with broom-shaped whips. The presence of the Confraternity is attested as early as the fourteenth century, and it was at that time that the original cult building, to which an oratory was to be attached, corresponding to the building to the right of the church, had to be built. This institute had the main task of assisting those condemned to death in the last hours of their existence. From this place the processions were started towards the gallows, which was located in the area of Porta Tufilla, just outside the walls, and a testimony of this is given by the detached fresco depicting the Madonna della Misericordia , coming from the oratory and datable to the middle of the fifteenth century, which has some engravings in the lower part with some names referable to some of the condemned. Starting from 1532 it underwent important works and modifications by Cola dell'Amatrice, who worked on the façade, up to the level of the entablature. The work resumed in the second half of the century, by various Lombard stone-cutters (who had been very active in the city for several decades) and the Conte Conti Ascoli, and interested not only in the upper order but also the interior, for which they were probably taken back drawings by Cola himself. These renovations continued until the beginning of the seventeenth century, when the baroque style began to appear, when Antonio Giosafatti, forefather of the dynasty of architects and sculptors, was entrusted with the construction of the internal apse area.

Ricetto di Candelo - Italy Walking Tour
Come walking with me along the narrow cobbled streets of the Ricetto of Candelo.
Located in Piemonte (Piedmont), in the province of Biella, Candelo is a medieval defensive village surrounded by fortified walls and towers (XIII - XIV century) of about 13.000 square meters. It's an unique sight thanks to it's perfectly mantained fortified walls and quaint small stone houses.
Candelo is a must visit in the spring, during the flower festival.
I recommend to visit during the weekend if you want to find more shops open.

my experience about south italy (and foggia)
later edit: I was quite stressed and overwhelmed at the day when I made the video. To be fair, there are some good people in Foggia, who do their job well, hardworking. But they are rare.
Crime, great food, unemployment, and more.
After living for 9 months in Estonia, I came back to Foggia, and here is my conclusion of living 3 years here. Are foggiano good people? How is food here? Pizza panzerotto, finding job, living standards, safety, robbery, salaries, student life, erasmus, studying in Italy, foggia, I have talked about quite many topisc. If you plan to live in Italy or come to south Italy, there are some insights about difficulty level of foggia and puglia. also the city is close to naples (napoli) and bari. these are my impressions as a foreign student.
