After what seemed like a never-ending winter, Bella gets her first trip of '24 underway.....back to our beloved France!
There's a bit of a hiccup at the start....entirely my fault..... which changes our plans somewhat, and takes us on a journey Southwards..... something a little different!!!
Our first stop an hour off the ferry at Caen, is a lovely Municipal Campsite, 'Camping De La Noe.' in the town of Argentan.
A gem of a site.....with a warm welcome, and all the facilities you could want, for just a quick stopover, like us......or a longer stay!! We'll definately be back!!

Walking around the beautiful city of Caen in Normandy, France. It's located in northwestern France, about 2 hours drive from Paris. Caen is known for historical buildings founded during the reign of William the Conqueror. Among which are Château de Caen (Caen Castle) built in 1060, the Abbey of Sainte-Trinité and Abbey of Sainte-Trinité, where King William was buried. Most part of the city were destroyed during the Battle of Normandy in 1944.

We are finally back to the shores after a very long time! In this episode we take you around Granville - a city known for its rocky shores, gorgeous villas built for the rich Parisians back in the early XX century and a superb old town that overlooks the area from a hill. Granville is also notably known for its role to defend its celebrity neighbour - Mont Saint-Michel from unfriendly and uninvited guests in the past. We spent a weekend in Granville and hope you enjoy the tour we have prepared for you.

Sées
La commune de Sées est située au centre du département de l’Orne en bordure de la forêt d’Ecouves et est positionnée sur la voie romaine (autrefois route de l’étain) qui mène du Sud de l’Angleterre vers l’Espagne. L’Orne qui traverse la cité prend sa source à quelques kilomètres en amont à Aunou-sur-Orne.
Argentan ... Prend un plaisir de regarder bonne promenade...!!

France beaches (Nice)
Nice beaches stretch like a necklace all along the baie des Anges (bay of Angels) from Nice Airport on the western edge to the foot of Mont Boron in the east, a distance of nearly 10km. The gentle curve of the bay tantalizes with a view as far as Villefranche-sur-Mer in the east and the Esterel mountains in the west. Moving inland, the terrain rises steadily behind the city to become the foothills of the Alps, a stunning backdrop to the azure sea.
Nice beaches are composed of large pebbles called galets. For centuries, three rivers have brought these stones from the mountains to the coast. The Var river, west of the airport, is the largest, followed by the Peillon at Centenaire beach and the tiny Magnan creek at Magnan beach. Each winter storms erode the beach and each spring bulldozers with new stones arrive to reclaim it from the sea. Although it would be possible to refill the beaches with sand instead of stones, the locals won't hear of it! Galets are a part of Nice's natural heritage so the galets are here to stay.
