Moldova | Best Wineries and Tourist Attractions | 4K
The world is finally waking up to the charms of this little nation wedged between Romania and Ukraine. Moldova was famously dubbed the world's least happy place in a bestselling book in 2008, but today it's better known for its unspoiled countryside and superb wine tours. As one of Europe’s least visited countries, Moldova retains a measure of roads-less-travelled charm. But that’s changing quickly as budget flights from Western Europe take off.
Pretty much all roads in Moldova lead to its wine-and-food loving capital. While the city’s origins date back six centuries to 1420, much of Chişinău was levelled in WWII and a tragic earthquake that struck in 1940. The Soviets rebuilt it into what you see today: grandiose Stalinist architecture mixed with gloriously brutal modernism from the later Soviet period and a smattering of pre-WWII edifices.
Chişinău is a city of parks where retirees play chess in the shade of old-growth trees, of street festivals, and of sidewalk cafes where you can have a beverage and watch the world go by. A dozen superb wineries are within a 90-minute drive of Chişinău, and the super-central location puts the entire country within a day trip. Throw in a hip and happening nightlife, and Chisinau ticks off all the boxes for an effective weekend break.

Charles will be exploring the best of Moldova and breakaway region of Transnistria on a budget, including Chișinău's largest and most important park Dendrarium, Jewish Cemetery, Parliament of Moldova, Great National Assembly Square, Triumphal Arch, Cathedral of Christ's Nativity, Roata Vremil and dinning inexpensively at the Central Market. In Transnistria, we'll visit one of it's most famous Ottoman landmark the Bendery Fortress near the border, and Tiraspol's Pridnestrovian Parliament, Memorial of Glory, Suvorov Square, their Central Bank and the City Hall. As well, getting around using public transportation easily and inexpensively and dinning out on a budget. We'll also end the show with a tour of Moldova's most famous Cricova Winery.

Moldova has some of the biggest wineries in the world and produces amazing wine so it is no surprise that you must visit a winery when in Moldova. I visited two and show you the contrast between one of the biggest wineries in the world (Cricova) compared to a small cosy operation in rural setting in the form of Asconi winery. Both are close to Chisinau and can be visited in a single day.

I did a day trip from Chisinau to Tiraspol, the capital city of Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (Transnistria) - the 'separatist' region of Moldova. The journey took about an hour by minivan and went through a border check.
Since I was there on a day trip, I was given a Migration Card with stay up to 10 hours only.
Tiraspol, the capital is walkable with lots of Soviet styled buildings. Sunday was not a good day to visit as most shops were closed.

Walking in Anenii Noi ( 5 December )
Anenii Noi is first large city of Moldova on highway 🛣️ on Chisinau with population of more 10 000. Filming begins in the beginning of city with view on some village and a small mountain 🌄 and passing through all main Anenii Noi downtown with an incredible view on some shops, coffee ☕ shops, 1 Orthodox temple, markets, cafes. Hope you like this city. But of course the only minus ➖ in today filming in first time in life in Anenii Noi of course was of existing of big amount music 🎶 treks during of half of filming. Nevertheless if be automatically attributions on author rights because of some music 🎶 treks, these all treks will be removed.

Crossing of the Dnieper, Alley of the Hero Cities, and the Motherland Monument are part of a greater complex that makes up the War Museum.
