The 10 Best Places to Live in Georgia (The U.S.) - Job. Family. Retiree. Education
Georgia is a state located in the southeastern United States. It was established in 1732, the last of the original Thirteen Colonies.
Named after King George II of Great Britain, Georgia was the fourth state to ratify the United States Constitution, on January 2, 1788.
Georgia is the 24th largest and the 8th most populous of the 50 United States, home to more than 10 million people,
a number that continues to increase every year thanks to the many charms that this State has to offer.
Georgia is known for many things: beautiful old houses, a rich history, Southern charm, and, of course, some of the most welcoming and unique cities in the country.
Thriving cities and charming towns, beautiful countryside connecting mountain vistas with white-sand beaches,
plus a temperate climate offering all four seasons make Georgia one of the very best places to live in the South.
Across the state, you will find world-class entertainment, professional and recreational sports, and restaurants providing cuisine from around the world.
Below-average housing costs, low taxes — and a cost of living that’s lower than what you’ll find in many other U.S. cities — all combine to make Georgia an affordable place to live.
If you’re new to the state or just aren’t completely sure what you want in your new hometown, the following are considered to be the best places to live in Georgia,
all factors considered – education, healthcare, cost of living, quality of life, crime rate, attractions and amenities.
10. Atlanta. (Good for jobs, education.)
9. Savannah. (Good for families.)
8. Augusta. (Good for jobs, retirees.)
7. Duluth. (Good for jobs.)
6. Athens. (Education, retirees.)
5. Decatur. (Family life and funs.)
4. Peachtree City. (Job, affordability, raise a family, safety.)
3. Alpharetta. (Job, quality of life, family, safety.)
2. Johns Creek. (Quality of life, affordability, family, safety.)
1. Milton. (Education, health and safety.)

MARC'S 50TH BIRTHDAY GETAWAY - VIDEO 11
Our last and final stop on this amazing 11-day-getaway for Marc's 50th. So much hiking and adventures, and now it's time to relax for three days in this KOA campground located in Americus, Georgia. Not knowing what to expect, we arrived after stopping of at the local Walmart for some groceries and one last fill up with Onyx before our final journey back to Florida.
Only minutes outside of Americus, and only short drive from I-75 is this Gem of a campground. We were just amazed as to what this place has to offer in terms of amenities for it's camping guests. Campsites are perfectly fine with full hook ups and super easy pull-thru sites.
Enjoy this review, as we have another video in the works for next week, covering the full amenities this place offers. DON'T MISS IT!

We are retired, and we travel to places that were once thriving but are not doing so well now sharing our thoughts about the places we drive through. We focus on South Georgia, Middle Georgia, and other places surrounding us. Sometimes the places that we visit are doing well. We also visit places of interest like state parks, historical places, and museums. We try to be positive about the areas we go to because there is too much negativity in the world already.
Americus and Plains, GA
Hi! We're Jimmy and Johnnie Lewis and we are the Two Old Farts Traveling! As we meander southward toward warmer weather, we travel through many towns and villages. This time, we visited Americus and Plains, both in Sumter Co., GA. Plains is the home of former President Jimmy Carter, so of course we had to check it out! One more county seat added to our list...
Americus KOA - Americus GA. Really nice! Golfing and camping in Georgia?
There were maybe 4 rigs in this campground. Part of your fees pays for 9 holes of GOLF. wow. It looked beautiful. Geared for the older crowd I'd say. Great Club House and a gathering house for parties and such too. 10 miles from Plains Georgia where Jimmy and Rosaland Carter were raised and STILL live.
