Visiting the Beautiful Italian Town of Amantea and staying at Agriturismo Il Mandorlo
We arrive in Amantea Italy in the province of Cosenza. We stay at a beautiful agriturismo Il Mandorlo where we enjoy amazing Easter feasts and beautiful views. The unique accommodation is a wonderful experience but visiting the old town and Centro Storico of Amantea was special. Although it was April and quiet, we loved the opportunity to experience the town and lovely beachside community. We loved Amantea and can't wait to come back!

Scogliera di Coreca Amantea uno dei tratti più belli del Tirreno Cosentino - Calabria - Italia
Uno di quei posti che spesso passa inosservato, ma che racchiude, in un piccolo angolo di costa un patrimonio naturalistico accattivante e del tutto incontaminato.
Costituita da un gruppo di scogli, situata in Calabria nella frazione di Coreca comune di di Amantea, provincia di Cosenza.
La scogliera si presenta a ridosso della strada da cui è possibile ammirare la grandezza e la forza che queste rocce continuano a mostrare nel corso degli anni.
E’ formata da un gruppo totale di 10 scogli a cui i cittadini locali hanno dato un nome caratteristico:
Capoto (il più grande), Formica, Ginario, Longarino, Piccirillo, Tirolé, e i 4 Scuagli da Funtana (scogli della fontana); l’intera area che comprende sia una parte prevalentemente rocciosa e un litorale sabbioso, si estende dalla vicina località “La Tonnara” fino ai confini dell’aria marina del borgo di Coreca, da cui prende il nome.
Il Capoto rappresenta lo scoglio più esteso, ed è utilizzato per compiere spettacolari tuffi acrobatici.
La scogliera di Coreca è uno di quegli ambienti marini che regala emozioni mozzafiato, sia per la particolarità del luogo e per le immagini che regala, soprattutto al tramonto, ma per la presenza di un ecosistema marino ricco di biodiversità, che richiama appassionati delle immersioni subacquee da tutto il sud d’Italia in uno dei tratti di costa più belli del Basso Tirreno Cosentino.
One of those places that often goes unnoticed, but which contains, in a small corner of the coast, a captivating and completely uncontaminated naturalistic heritage.
Made up of a group of rocks, located in Calabria in the hamlet of Coreca, municipality of Amantea, province of Cosenza.
The cliff is close to the road from which it is possible to admire the size and strength that these rocks continue to show over the years.
It is formed by a total group of 10 rocks to which the local citizens have given a characteristic name:
Capoto (the largest), Formica, Ginario, Longarino, Piccirillo, Tirolé, and the 4 Scuagli da Funtana (rocks of the fountain); the entire area which includes both a predominantly rocky part and a sandy coast, extends from the nearby locality La Tonnara to the borders of the marine area of the village of Coreca, from which it takes its name.
The Capoto represents the largest rock, and is used to perform spectacular acrobatic dives.
The Coreca cliff is one of those marine environments that offers breathtaking emotions, both for the particularity of the place and for the images it offers, especially at sunset, but for the presence of a marine ecosystem rich in biodiversity, which attracts scuba diving enthusiasts from all over southern Italy in one of the most beautiful stretches of coast of the Lower Tyrrhenian Cosentino.

Amantea awaits you - with its beautiful historical centre and more modern marina beachfront & town. This spacious apartment with superb sea and mountain views, is in a central location in the Comune of Amantea (CS), approx 40 mins drive north of Lamezia airport.
It is situated on the 4th floor of a building (without a lift) with a total of 8 apartments and is approx 98 msq with large surrounding balcony. It comprises 2 good sized bedrooms – both with access onto the balcony, a large lounge/diner with access onto the balcony, a separate kitchen with patio doors that open onto the balcony and 1 bathroom with shower. The balcony surrounds the apartment on 2 sides and has both sea and mountain views and views over the town. On the ground level there is a storeroom of approx. 6msq. Within the condominium there is an allocated parking space.
Amantea is a busy town with all the modern amenities: variety of shops and boutiques, café bars, restaurants/pizzeria, gelatarias, pharmacies, post office etc. this blends well with the charming old historical centre where you can meander through the traditional narrow streets and enjoy the true feel of Calabria, enjoy an ice cream in one of the famous gelatieria of the area.

During my stay in Amantea I had done 1 year vanlife. Funny is that during that day (10th January), when I was editing another youtube movie (Gimignano) in a bar/gelateria Sicoli when 2 people from Rai tv came in and also started editing their material. They had done some interview about a building that was declared unlifable bc of a landslide. They talk to some people about the effect that had on them.
Amantea was a nice town, Lidl, castello, old centre/church ruin, corso Umberto are very nice. Amantea has a beach, i saw it but didnt film it.
This castle was occupied by Byzantines, Arabs, Normans, Swabians, Argonese etc. Even Napoleons troops have been here.
