Alpena, Michigan - The Perfect Mix of City and Nature
Located along the shores of Thunder Bay (Lake Huron) in northern Lower Michigan, Alpena is a great travel destination. Alpena has a beautiful downtown area with many shops and restaurants along with many parks along the Thunder Bay River including Bay View Park which looks out at Thunder Bay which is home to many shipwrecks in the area as well as the Alpena Lighthouse. About a couple miles north of the city is Island Park where you can get out into nature and feel like you are in the middle of the northern woods despite only being a very short distance from civilization.
