Pictured Rocks National Park Celebrates 50 Years
Pictured Rocks, a National Lakeshore Park, celebrates its 50th year. This natural treasure is located in the Upper Peninsula roughly 50 miles east of Marquette, Michigan. Pictured Rocks boast 100 miles of hiking trails, pristine beaches, boating, and camping. The dunes rise 200 feet above Lake Superior. During the winter months, visitors can experience ice fishing, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing.

Here are some top spots for food & drinks in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 2024. Known as Beer City USA, Grand Rapids, Michigan is home to numerous breweries as well as many restaurants. I head out to a few restaurants as well as a couple of breweries in the Grand Rapids area.
1. Bistro Bella Vita - Bistro Bella Vita offers great Italian and French cuisine in downtown Grand Rapids. I head inside to enjoy one of their great pasta dishes.
2. Founders Brewing Co. - One of the most famous breweries in Grand Rapids, the Founders Brewing Co. is an icon in the city for getting some beer (including ones made in house) as well as some food. I get one of their beers as well as a hot pretzel.
3. Two Beards Deli - Two Beards Deli is a great deli located in downtown Grand Rapids where they make some of the freshest sandwiches around. I head inside to try their ZZ Top sandwich.
4. Grand Rapids Brewing Company - The Grand Rapids Brewing Company is a brewery/restaurant which not only has some great beer but also some great food. I grab a beer while also trying some of their tacos.
5. The Electric Cheetah - Located east of downtown Grand Rapids, the Electric Cheetah is a great restaurant serving a lot of great food. I try one of their burgers which was available as a special for the day.

The BEST ATTRACTIONS in MICHIGAN is in the small town called South Haven We loved our time exploring all the top attractions in South Haven.

We left Kal-Haven RV Park in South Haven and stopped at Van Buren State Park to check out Lake Michigan, We used our Michigan Recreational Passport to get into the state park for free. We bought the year pass for $34 as a non-resident of Michigan. It was worth it to buy the year pass because we were going to a lot of the Michigan State Parks. Van Buren is a place to enjoy hiking trails, picnic tables, and a mile of beaches. They had plenty of parking for RV's and Michigan seems to be very RV friendly. We rode our scooters around and then hiked to Lake Michigan. It was very nice and it is amazing how the lake looks like an ocean. You can also camp at this state park but we chose the other campground because of the proximity to the town of South Haven,
After exploring Van Buren State Park in South Haven, we drove our RV to Casco Township Nature Preserve in South Haven. They had plenty of parking for the RV. There is steep stairs from the bluff down to the beach but it was closed when we were there. . It has acres of woodlands and extraordinary views of Lake Michigan. It wasn't far to walk through the beautiful greenery to the view of Lake Michigan!! It is a must stop attraction in South Haven!!
Once Scott heard about this Hotdog & Root Beer Roadside Restaurant, we had to stop. On our way to Holland, we stopped at Douglas Root Beer Barrel in Douglas, Michigan which was the coolest and best roadside attraction. There wasn't any room to park an RV but luckily we made space near the entrance to the place. The place is shaped like a gigantic root beer barrel and is really cool. It has been open since 1952 and is still going strong after being renovated in 2011. We both had hotdogs and root beer floats and both were delicious!! They have plenty of chairs and tables on the beautiful grounds!! I would add this to your stop if in the area.

We are in Cadillac for a day of Adventure Dining, where we pair an outdoor adventure with food and beverage. We are biking a portion of the White Pine Trail , which is a 92 mile trail that spans between Cadillac and the Grand Rapids area. We are starting at the northern most trailhead, which is Cadillac Commons.
