Saudi Arabia Travel - One Day in Riyadh 🇸🇦 المملكة العربية السعودية مدينة الرياض السفر سياحة أجنبي
Saudi Arabia has long been off limits to foreign tourists and travelers. Since a few months, however, it’s possible to visit the country on a tourist visa. I made use of this opportunity and traveled to Saudi Arabia for 2 weeks, including Riyadh, the Edge of the World, Jeddah, Medina, Al Ula, Umluj, and the Red Sea coast.
In this video I travel to Riyadh, the capital city in the center of the country. After visiting a mosque for Friday prayer and eating lunch with the locals, I tour to modern shopping malls, museums, traditional bazaars, a construction site with migrant workers, the famous Sky Bridge Kingdom Tower, and finally the Riyadh Season Festival, designed to promote tourism and culture. While I spent almost 3 days in Riyadh, I comprised the video to make it into one single day.

Saudi Arabia is mostly known in the ‘Western world’ for its petroleum export, the birthplace of Islam, and unfortunately also poor human rights record. But as I discover there is much more to this massive country than first meets the eye. In these series I hope to give a glimpse into what was once an almost ‘forbidden place’ for independent travelers, and is now open for visitors from around the world.

Maqsora Al Swailem l Places to Visit in Qassim l Buraydah l Bukairyah l Things to Do in Qassim
Maqsora Al Swailem is one the best historical places in Bukairyah city neighboring to Qassim's capital Buraydah. It’s an ancient palace which was constructed in the 10th Century of Hijrah and played a major role in establishing Al Bukairyah history. It was headquarter of the principality for quite a long time hosted several kings and princes.
The palace still exists and receives guest until today. However, the beauty of the multi-story palace can be seen by the photographs; the decoration of the rooms, a deep ancient well at the right side of the palace and date farms in the surrounding make it perfect for a short visit.

The place is a personal property of a rich Saudi Man who transformed it to a beauty sanctuary by keeping different species of Deer (the sanctuary is named after these Deer), gazelles, horses, goats and ostriches. The southern and north eastern parts of the sanctuary is converted into beautiful fruits and vegetable farms by planting citrus fruits, dates and other seasonal vegetables. There are many shades and sitting areas where families can enjoy good times with their kids having feel of desert safari. In the middle of the park lies a huge and beautiful building which is used to host the guests.
The owner of the park is so generous that he opened his personal property to all the visitors without any entry fee. Visitors are also allowed to taste the fresh fruits plucked directly from the plants. Interested visitors can also buy deer from there at a reasonable price.

Tuesday to Saturday – 7 am to 7 pm

Pada video kali ini kami mau mengajak teman travelers jalan-jalan virtual ke desa oasis yang berada di Provinsi Al Qasim Saudi Arabia nama desanya Uyun Al Jiwa.
Uyun Al Jiwa berjarak sekitar 396 km dari ibukota Riyadh dan bisa ditempuh dengan waktu kurang lebih 4 jam.
Dahulu kala Uyun Al Jiwa merupakan desa oasis kuno.
Uyun Al Jiwa jika diterjemahkan artinya adalah Kolam Lembah, dan menurut sejarahnya desa ini dahulu dikelilingi sungai.
Dalam sejarahnya, sebagian besar nenek moyang penduduk Uyun Al Jiwa adalah pedagang yang disebut juga dengan kelompok Al Oqilat yang melakukan perjalanan jauh untuk berdagang. Selain berdagang penduduk Uyun Al Jiwa juga bertani dan beternak.
Para petani di Uyun Al Jiwa, menanam dan memanen berbagai jenis sayuran dan buah-buahan, seperti kurma, wortel, okra, dan daun bawang, serta beternak di Al Jiwa. Beberapa membawa hasil panen dan hasil panen mereka ke Souq Al Athnain dan Souq Al Jumaa di wilayah Uyun Al Jiwa.
Uyun Al Jiwa juga terkenal dengan Situs bersejarah,:
1. Antarah Ibn Shaddad Rock, Sakhrat Antarah atau sering disebut sebagai Love Stone, Batu Cinta, sebuah situs yang diyakini sebagai tempat Penyair Arab yang merupakan seorang ksatria bernama Antarah Ibn Shaddad bertemu cintanya Abla.
Namun kisah cinta mereka adalah kisah cinta terlarang.
2. Menara Pengawas, Al-Margab Watchtower yang lokasinya berada diatas bukit. Menara ini dibangun pakai tanah liat. Dahulu menara ini dipakai untuk mengawasi musuh yang datang ke wilayah Uyun Al Jiwa.
