🇸🇾 Street Food in Damascus:

ALEPPO, SYRIA - It’s been said that Aleppo is one of the original food capitals of the world - people came from all over to learn about new recipes and ingredients that passed through this ancient city. Today we’re going on an ultimate Syrian food tour in Aleppo!

► Thank you to Rami from Syrian Guides:

Aleppo Bab Al Ahmar - Located on the outside of Aleppo Citadel you’ll find this traditional Syrian restaurant that specializes in breakfast dishes. Rami and I had a breakfast feast to begin our day with some of the Levantine food classics like hummus and foul, and a special dish called Maamounieh. Total price - 250,000 SYP ($16.66) for everything

After breakfast we continued to visit the Aleppo Citadel and Al-Madina Souq. Although so much was destroyed, it’s amazing to see that Aleppo is coming back to life, and people are rebuilding. Within the winding alleys of the market we tried a simple falafel, which was fantastic, but just a start to the next falafel we’d be trying later in the afternoon. We also visited an 800 year old soup factory at Jebeili Soap Factory and ate local Aleppo Syrian kebabs at Abu Dibo Kebab.

Cordoba Restaurant ( - One of the greatest restaurants in Aleppo, Syria is Cordoba, famous for their Aleppo cuisine, and especially for serving of the best versions of Kebab karaz - Aleppo sour cherry kebab. Total price - 470,000 SYP ($31.33) for everything
Amo Hamido Falafel ( - Next up we went to what is probably the most famous and popular Syrian street food spot in Aleppo, known for their giant falafel sandwiches! Price - 15,000 SYP ($1) per sandwich

Sujuk Sandwich ( - We continued on this Syrian street food tour in Aleppo to eat an Armenian sujuk sandwich, which was extremely tasty. Price - 17,000 SYP ($1.13) per sandwich

Abu Hagob Restaurant - Finally we had a dinner at a legendary Armenian Syrian restaurant where they made a meal of many small plates to eat with arak. The kibbeh nayyeh, raw minced lamb and bulgur, was especially delicious. Total price - 250,000 SYP ($16.66) for everything

Aleppo, Syria is and always has been a food capital of the world!

Tartous & Latakia - The Syrian Coast Travel Tour 2022 [4K/60fps]

#latakia #tartous #travel #polyglot #traveling #vlogging #syria

N.B: Set the definition to 4K for the full experience.

-------------------------------------------

The trip from Beirut to Tartous takes around 4 hours (By car), add to it 1 hour at the Lebanese-Syrian border for passport/identity checks. You will need an additional 2 hours to get to Latakia from Tartous.

Latakia and Tartous are cities located on the coastline of Syria, in the western part of the country.

Latakia (Arabic: ٱللَّاذْقِيَّة ٱللَّاذِقِيَّة, al-Lāḏqīyah / al-Lāḏiqīyah; Syrian pronunciation: [el.laːdˈʔɪjje, -laːðˈqɪjja]) is the principal port city of Syria and capital city of the Latakia Governorate. Historically, it has also been known as Laodicea in Syria or Laodicea ad Mare. In addition to serving as a port, the city is a manufacturing center for surrounding agricultural towns and villages.

Although the site of the city has been inhabited since the 2nd millennium BC, the city was founded in the 4th century BC under the rule of the Seleucid Empire. Latakia was subsequently ruled by the Romans, followed by the Ummayads and Abbasids during the 8th–10th centuries AD. Byzantines ruling groups frequently attacked the city, periodically recapturing it before losing it again to Arab powers, particularly the Fatimids. Afterward, Latakia was ruled successively by the Seljuk Turks, Crusaders, Ayyubids, Mamluks, and the Ottomans. Following World War I, Latakia was assigned to the French mandate of Syria, in which it served as the capital of the autonomous territory of the Alawites. This autonomous territory became the Alawite State in 1922, proclaiming its independence a number of times until reintegrating into Syria in 1944.

Tartus (Arabic: طَرْطُوس / ALA-LC: Ṭarṭūs; known in the County of Tripoli as Tortosa and also transliterated Tartous) is a city on the Mediterranean coast of Syria. It is the second largest port city in Syria (after Latakia), and the largest city in Tartus Governorate. Until the 1970s, Tartus was under the governance of 'Latakia' governor, then it became a separate governorate. The population is 115,769 (2004 census). In the summer it is a vacation spot for many Syrians. Many vacation compounds and resorts are located in the region. The port holds a small Russian naval facility.

Damascus Vacation Travel Video Guide

Travel video about destination Damascus in Syria.
Damascus is the capital of Syria and is a symbol of culture in the Near East. A hundred kilometres from the Mediterranean coast, the strategically located city was once the capital of the Umayyad.Cannons, the busts of various presidents and military vehicles are displayed in the large courtyard of the Takiyeh Mosque, an ancient Dervish monastery complex. Built in 1554 and designed by Ottoman master architect, Sinan, it also includes an adjoining inn for the numerous pilgrims who travelled to Mecca. Damascus has always been much prized: by the pharaohs and the Babylonian monarch, Nebukadnezar, and later, Alexander The Great. Then came Persian, Roman and Islamic emperors followed by the Crusaders and Mongols. The Kalaa Citadel is situated on the periphery of the old town that was once surrounded by huge walls. It was from here that Saladin fended off the attacks of the Crusaders. The Romans built a fort here that was constantly extended with impressive walls and towers and located directly outside the city wall, the River Barada was also of strategic importance. Although the Mongols destroyed the inner buildings, the fortress walls survived. The Suq is an important part of every Islamic city, a market that originated in ancient times. Thousands of shops in numerous interconnected lanes form the commercial heart of Damascus. In the Gold Suq everything glitters, bracelets, rings and even a large variety of kitchen utensils. Damascus has for thousands of years been a place desired by the powerful. Yet it has managed to survive and is still the most beautiful capital city in the Near East.

The Ancient City of Damascus in Syria is the oldest inhabited capital in the world. The Ancient City of Damascus is on the UNESCO World Heritage List: Founded in the 3rd millennium B.C., Damascus is one of the oldest cities in the Middle East. citadel of Aleppo Syria, अलेप्पो सीरिया का गढ़ | Trending Places to see in 2022

Aleppo, one of the world's oldest continuously inhabited cities, contains relics from more than four millennia of Near Eastern history. Aleppo's Citadel is a highly interwoven microcosm of the city's long and complicated history. The Ayyubids built the majority of the structures on the citadel in the twelfth and thirteenth centuries, but there are also significant structures during the Ottoman period. The citadel was constructed on a natural limestone outcropping that rose 100 feet above the plain below.

Its lofty walls, majestic entry bridge, and massive gateway are all still standing and dominate the city's skyline. A series of invasions, earthquakes, and natural corrosion caused by exposure to the elements have harmed the fabric of the citadel's inner areas within its walls. Significant remnants of a Bronze Age neo-Hittite temple, in use for the majority of the third and second millennia B.C., were recently discovered during excavations. The temple is embellished with a complex system of reliefs that represent deities and exotic creatures and are an important addition to Syria's historical record.
