In this video, you'll find out how many things you can do in the south during the summer besides go to the beach, hang by the pool or go on vacation. Now of course the summer in South Carolina is hot and humid, so this video is going to cover activities inside and outside. Let's explore all the activities you can do in the Aiken area during the summer or warmer months of the year.
Now the hot season lasts from about mid-May to September, with an average high temperature around the mid-80s. The hottest months of the year in Aiken is July and August, with an average high of 90. With all of this being said no matter where you are in the south you learn to schedule your day around the hottest time of day. So if you plan on doing outdoor activities and recreation, I suggest doing it in the earlier mornings or early evenings. But no matter if you want to enjoy some sunshine and fresh air or rather stay in the air conditioning, I've got a handful of activities for you to check out.

Things to do in Aiken SC
I have to admit, Aiken surprised me. I expected a pretty Southern town, but this lively community also has a lot going on, including tons of free things to do. In Aiken SC everything is an easy walk or within a five minute drive of downtown. Chef driven restaurants, live music, historic hotels, interesting museums, gardens, hiking trails and lots, and lots of horses. Here are some of the things my husband and I found on our trip to Aiken, as well as a few on my bucket list for next time, because I'm already excited to return.
