Places to see in ( Prestatyn - UK )
Places to see in ( Prestatyn - UK )
Prestatyn is a seaside resort, town and community in Denbighshire, Wales. Historically a part of Flintshire, Prestatyn is located on the Irish Sea coast, to the east of Rhuddlan. Prestatyn railway station is on the North Wales Coast Line which connects the town with Holyhead to the west and Chester to the east. Bus services are provided by Arriva Buses Wales.
The town's population remained at less than 1,000 until the arrival of the railways and the holidaymakers in the 19th and 20th centuries. Sunny Prestatyn became famous for its beach, clean seas and promenade entertainers, and visiting for a bathe was considered very healthy by city-dwelling Victorians. During the Second World War the holiday camps were used as billets for British soldiers, many of whom were also sent to live with locals.
Prestatyn was the home of the first UK Kwik Save supermarket in 1965; Prestatyn was also the home of the firm's business headquarters. The Kwik Save store was renamed Somerfield following a takeover in 2007, and was finally demolished in 2008 when surrounding land was bought by Tesco.
Although Prestatyn remains a tourist destination and resort town, the town is diversifying in response to the decline of the British seaside holiday. The NHS is planning to open an elderly care facility in the town to serve north Denbighshire, and the opening of big name shops and supermarkets looks set to increase the town's status as a shopping centre. Merlin Cinemas have taken over the Scala cinema, a digital cinema with films, exhibition and theatre venues.
( Prestatyn - UK ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting the city of Prestatyn . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Prestatyn - UK

12 Most Hated Places to Live in Wales
What are the most hated places in Wales? There are surely two sides to every coin. When you see the passion with which some people admire and love their homes in Wales and name nice seaside towns, dockyards, communities, villages, and hamlets in Wales, you will be left to wonder if there can ever be anywhere hated in Wales. Yet, there are places in Wales that are also passionately derided, mocked, and treated with utmost disdain. While doing our due diligence, we discover that some hated towns in Wales are not hated absolutely, not by all. In this video, we have compiled the list of the 12 most hated places to live in Wales. Please note that many of them are also among the worst towns in Wales.
12. Cwmbran
We’re kick-starting this in Cwmbran, a town in the county borough of Torfaen. A lot of terrible things have been said about the residents and the by fellow residents and outsiders. However, the main reason we are mentioning this town is the safety concern. While it might not top in the overall crime rates, you have to look more closely to find up to three towns of its status with a higher crime rate in Wales. Thus, this town is hated, not for environmental factors, but for human factors, occasioned by the residents.
11. Colwyn Bay
Colwyn Bay, a town, community, and seaside resort in Conwy County Borough on the northern coast has expanded to the point of becoming the second-largest community and business center in the north of Wales and the 14th largest in the whole of Wales. Yet, it has little or nothing to show for that economically. It’s a drab and miserable place to live. Compounding its woes are its high crime rates. Its beach is dirty and hasn’t shown anything for the efforts to make it better; the horrendous concrete building appears as if the last time it was maintained was 1970.
10. Aberdare
We once argued against the notion that this is a town loved by criminals. Yet, we can’t turn a blind high to the high crime rate of this town in the Cynon Valley area of Rhondda Cynon Taf. As of the last check, it’s the third most dangerous small town in Mid-Glamorgan. You just need to see what we’ve discovered about this town in our video about the 12 worst places to live. If it is conveniently and justifiably listed in that ranking, we all know that no one will love to live in one of the worst places.
9. Fairbourne
Fairbourne, a tiny village nestled between Snowdonia National Park and the Irish Sea has been begging for a slot on this ranking. The place is currently facing an existential crisis, no thanks to the high risk of future flooding as a result of climate change. A while ago, Natural Resources Wales (NRW), the organization in charge of flood management in Wales, spent £6.8m on strengthening 2.9 kilometers of concrete tidal defenses so that over 400 properties in the town can be protected from storm surges and flooding, and to complete other constructions. But we’re not happy to let you know that the Gwynedd Council, in charge of this village has said since 2014 that it couldn’t maintain flood defenses of the village indefinitely. By 2054 latest, the village will no longer be livable. Who would ever love to live in such a place?
8. Denbighshire
You might want to argue against the inclusion of Denbighshire on this list if you consider some of its towns like Llangollen, a community situated on the River Dee. However, when it comes to how good and convenient a place is for living, the entire county is generally hated, except for a pocket of towns there like Llangollen and Ruthin. Reviewers have not been generally kind to this county in the northeast of Wales.

Places to see in ( Towyn - UK )
Towyn, is a seaside resort in the County Borough of Conwy, Wales. It is located between Rhyl, in Denbighshire, and Abergele in Conwy. A combination of gale-force winds, a high tide and rough seas caused Towyn's flood defences to be breached at about 11.00am on 26 February 1990. 4 square miles (10 km2) of land was flooded, affecting 2,800 properties and causing areas of the resort to be evacuated. The coastal defences have since been reconstructed and significantly enhanced.
Towyn has a notable church. St. Mary's Church was designed by the renowned architect George Edmund Street, and was consecrated on 17 June 1873. It is known for the distinctive tiling on the roof. The same architect also designed the building which now houses the youth club in nearby Abergele.
The principal economic activity in Towyn is tourism, concentrated in the summer season. A mix of static caravans and touring caravan pitches provides accommodation.

Abergele Walk: Town Centre & Beach【4K】
Located on the north coast of Wales, in Conwy County Borough, and around 30 miles west of the England-Wales border, is the town of Abergele.
The town's name comes from Welsh for 'mouth of the River Gele'. The river's name in turn derives from Welsh 'gelau', meaning spear or blade. It originally fed into the sea, but following the Rhuddlan Marsh embankment act of 1794, it was diverted eastwards, becoming a tributary of the River Clwyd.
A settlement pre-dating the Roman era is believed to have existed here. The Romans constructed a road between Chester and Holyhead passing through this area, and likely had a significant presence here. Since the 8th century, a church has existed here. It was also the site of a Celtic monastery at one point. In 1294 Edward I is said to have stayed here during his suppression of the revolt of Madog ap Llywelyn.
At the heart of the town is the Church of St Michael. This dates back to the 13th century, with additions up to the 15th century and some 19th century restoration.
Abergele thrived during the Industrial Revolution due to the demand for raw materials, such as lead and limestone which were mined and quarried here. Interest in the area grew around the same time due to the rise in popularity of sea bathing, coupled with the restrictions that came with the Napoleonic wars in terms of travelling to continental Europe. The coming of the railway in the mid 19th century brought further growth still.
Between 1812 and 1822 Gwrych Castle was built. Located a mile west of Abergele town centre, its construction was ordered by Lloyd Hesketh Bamford-Hesketh as a memorial to his mother’s ancestors, the Lloyds of Gwrych. This Grade I listed country house is situated in around 250 acres of gardens and grounds. In its heyday it had over 100 rooms. During the Second World War, it housed around 200 Jewish refugee children as part of the Kindertransport programme. But by the 1980s, it had become a ruin. In 2018 the castle was sold to the Gwrych Castle Preservation Trust, and is in the process of being restored. It gained publicity after becoming the location for the 2020 and 2021 series of 'I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!'.
In 1848 the railway arrived in Abergele courtesy of the Chester and Holyhead Railway. Initially the station was known as, simply, 'Abergele', but was later renamed to 'Abergele and Pensarn', with the latter referencing the northern suburb of Pensarn, which is essentially the seaside area of the town in which the station itself is situated. Today, it is located on the North Wales Coast Line which links Crewe in England to Holyhead on the Welsh island of Anglesey.

Gwrych Castle Abergele Conwy North Wales I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here
Gwrych Castle is a Grade I listed 19th-century country house near Abergele in Conwy county borough, Wales.
It was erected between 1819 and 1825 at the behest of Lloyd Hesketh Bamford-Hesketh, grandfather of Winifred Cochrane, Countess of Dundonald. From 1894 until 1924, when the Countess died, it was the residence of the Dundonald family (family name of Cochrane). The Countess left the castle in her will to King George V and the then Prince of Wales (who later became King Edward VIII). However, the gift was refused and the castle passed to the Venerable Order of Saint John. In 1928, Douglas Cochrane, 12th Earl of Dundonald, purchased the castle for £78,000, selling the contents to meet the cost.
During World War II, the Government used the castle to house 200 Jewish refugees run by the Jewish Zionist youth movement Bnei Akiva. Following the war, the castle left the Dundonald family and was open to the public for twenty years. It was called The Showpiece of Wales at this time, and attracted many visitors. It was also used as a training venue for the English World Middleweight boxing champion Randolph Turpin in the early 1950s.
Gwrych Castle
The castle was last open to the public in 1985. Thereafter, it started to decline. It was bought in 1989 by Nick Tavaglione, an American businessman, for £750,000. However, his plans to renovate the building were not carried out. As a result, the castle was extensively looted and vandalised, becoming little more than a derelict shell, although it was used in 1996 as the backdrop for Prince Valiant, a film starring Edward Fox, Joanna Lumley and Katherine Heigl. It is currently open for guided and self-guided tours but part of the site is closed due to some dangerous parts of the castle.
On 13 June 2018, Gwrych Castle and its estate was sold to Gwrych Castle Preservation Trust, enabled by a grant from the National Heritage Memorial Fund.

Places to see in ( Rhos on Sea - UK )
Rhos-on-Sea, also known as Rhos or Llandrillo, is a seaside resort, community and electoral ward in Conwy County Borough, Wales. It adjoins Colwyn Bay. It is named after the Welsh kingdom of Rhos established there in late Roman times as a sub-kingdom of Gwynedd, and later became a cantref .
Bryn Euryn is a hill overlooking Rhos-on-Sea on which there are the remains of a hillfort called Dinerth, the 'fort of the bear', and a limestone quarry. Ednyfed Fychan, 13th century seneschal to Llywelyn the Great and ancestor to the House of Tudor was granted the land and built a castle on the hill, of which all traces have disappeared, and a manor, Llys Euryn of which the ruins of its 15th-century reconstruction can be seen today.
The 6th century St Trillo's Chapel (Capel Sant Trillo), which was the mother church of a large parish which included places as far apart as Eglwysbach and Eglwys Rhos (Llan Rhos). The chapel by the sea is on the site of a pre-Christian, sacred holy well; the altar is built directly over the pure water of the well. Saint Trillo, the son of Ithel Hael from Llydaw (Snowdonia) also founded a church at Llandrillo in Denbighshire. Trillo's brother Tygai (Llandygai) founded a church near Penrhyn, Bangor; their sister Llechid founded a church (Llanllechid) in the uplands above Penrhyn.
The poet and visual artist David Jones visited Rhos-on-Sea in 1904 when he was 9. It was his first ever trip to Wales and it made an enormous impression on him. His father's family lived in Rhos, and the young Jones played with his cousins at St. Trillo's Chapel, and on Bryn Euryn. He also particularly loved the fishing weir just a few yards from St. Trillos. These were formative influences both on his writing and visual art. He wrote that this visit left 'an indelible mark on my soul'. In 1937, after the death of his mother, Jones revisited Rhos. He found it a 'wilderness of villas and bungalows'. The fishing weir had gone (there remain a few stumps), and the chapel was now 'cleared and cared for', but it had 'lost half its numinous feeling'.
Llandrillo yn Rhos Church was built on the site of Ednyfed Fychan's private chapel and incorporates what was his tombstone, the history of this church goes back to the 13th century, but having been rebuilt over the centuries, the oldest parts of the present church are 15th century. A major restoration was carried out in 1857 and was criticised by some for amounting to 'vandalism', in particular the destruction of an ancient stained glass window. Nevertheless, it remains one of the most important historic buildings in North Wales. The stone lych-gate was built in 1677 and is one of the oldest in the district, the sundial is from the early 18th century.
In 1186 Llywelyn the Great permitted the establishment of the Cistercian Aberconwy Abbey, and the monks built a fishing weir on the sea shore below Bryn Euryn. The place became known as Rhos Fynach, heath of the monks. In a charter of 1230, Llywelyn sanctioned the purchase by Ednyfed Fychan of land at Rhos Fynach and in 1289, the abbey moved to Maenan (becoming Maenan Abbey), and the weir was ceded to Ednyfed's estate. Eventually Rhos Fynach and the weir came into the hands of Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester, who in 1575 granted it to a Captain Morgan ap John ap David, a privateer, for services rendered against the enemies of Queen Elizabeth I at sea. (This is not the famous pirate of the Caribbean Captain Henry Morgan who lived in the century following).
Perhaps Rhos-on-Sea's greatest claim to fame is that, according to legend, Madog ap Owain Gwynedd, a Welsh prince of Gwynedd, sailed from here in 1170 and discovered America, over three hundred years before Christopher Columbus's famous voyage in 1492. This event is recorded by a plaque on one of the properties on the sea-front. This property is called Odstone at no. 179, Marine Drive which, as of June 2012, has become neglected.
