Driving in Algiers - From El Madania (ex-Salembier) to Bir Mourad Rais

Join me on this short trip where I'll be driving from El Madania to the nearby neighborhood of Bir Mourad Rais, a neighborhood that's also a crossroads between Hydra, El Madania, and Les Sources. I'll be driving through the southern part of Le Ravin de la Femme Sauvage (Frères Bouadou Street). Algiers Around Algiers.

Driving in Algeria - From Boudouaou (Boumerdes) to Ain Benian - من بودواو إلى عين البنيان

In this video, I'm driving from Boudouaou, that sits on the border between Boumerdes and Algiers (east of the capital) to Ain Benian (one of the westernmost parts of Algiers). Most of my road trip is on National Highway 5 (N5 on the maps) that goes through the suburbs of Reghaia, Rouiba, Dar El Beida (where the Algiers international airport is located), El Harrach, Baraki, Ain Naadja, Kouba, Les Anassers, Birkhadem, Hydra, Ben Aknoun, Dely Brahim, Ouled Fayet, and Cheraga. This is the highway that we commonly call the Ben Aknoun Motorway and that goes all the way to Zeralda (the westernmost town in the wilaya of Algiers).

Driving in Algiers - From Telemly to Bir Mourad Rais

Join me in this video as I'm driving from Telemly to Bir Mourad Rais in the upper parts of Algiers. In fact, Telemly is built on a high hill above the Algiers Port and Bir Mourad Rais is just on the other side of that hill in the river bed of the Hydra River. The route goes through El Mouradia, an old neighborhood located between Sidi M'hamed, Hydra, El Mouradia, and our destination.

Driving in Algiers - From Tripoli Street in Hussein Dey to El Madania

On this trip, filmed on a weekend morning (Saturday), I had the rare pleasure of using a section of Tripoli Street to drive to El Madania. Because of the streetcar line that crosses it, this street, which once was a major boulevard in Algiers, only has one lane for cars where traffic only goes in one direction, from east to west. When I arrived in Brossette, a residential part of Hussein Dey, I took another shortcut to join the major road of Fernane Hanafi.

Driving in Algiers - From Châteauneuf (El Biar) to Hussein Dey

Hi again! Join me on this trip from the neighborhood of Châteauneuf (in the El Biar municipalty) to Hussein Dey. We're going to drive through Ben Aknoun, Val d'Hydra (Hydra Valley), La Colonne (under the bridge), Bir Mourad Rais, Le Ravin (the Ravine), Les Fusillés (Ruisseau), and on to Hussein Dey. Enjoy! Any comments, welcome!

Driving in Algiers - From Bachdjerrah to Bordj El Kiffan via the Fair (la Foire)

In this video, I'm filming a trip from Bachdjerrah (in the eastern part of Algiers) to Bordj El Kiffan (ex-Fort de l'eau - on the eastern seashore) via the area commonly known as La Foire (the Fair) and officially known as Pins Maritimes. This is the old and most popular route to go from the central parts of Algiers to Bordj El Kiffan, however, you should absolutely avoid this route during rush hour or in a period when there's an event at the Fair where the Palace of Exhibitions is located and where some of Algiers' biggest fairs are organized. Traffic would literally be paralyzed during such periods.

Driving in Algiers - From Chevalley to Champ de Manoeuvres (Place 1er Mai)

Buckle up and join me on this trip as I'm driving from Chevalley (between Bouzareah and Ben Aknoun) to Champ de Manoeuvres (Place 1er Mai in Central Algiers). I'll be driving through Châteauneuf, El Biar and the Mohamed Bougara Boulevard, filming many places of the higher parts of Algiers. Algiers around Algiers. Enjoy the ride!

Driving in Algiers - From Jolie Vue to Gue de Constantine

On this trip, I'm driving from Jolie Vue (Kouba) to Gue de Constantine via Ali Benhabiles Street and Wilaya Highway 13. Although Ali Benhabiles Street offers direct access from Kouba to National Highway 11 (Benaknoun Highway), it suffers from a lot of congestion. I filmed this on a rainy day.

Driving In Algiers - From Hussein Dey to Gue de Constantine

On this trip, I'm driving from Hussein Dey to the eastern suburb of Gue de Constantine via a somewhat original route that a co-worker of mine who lives in the area showed me. The route, although not straight at all, consists in driving all the way to National Highway 5 (Ben Aknoun-Dar El Beida Motorway or the Southern Bypass Motorway), then enter the area of Gue de Constantine via an entry that goes by the Ain Naadja gas station located on the motorway. It's such a practical route than I never thought about before and I enjoyed trying it.

Driving in Algiers - From Bachdjerrah to the Algiers Main Bus Station via Hussein Dey

In this video, I'm driving from Bachdjerrah to the Algiers Main Bus Station via Hussein Dey. The purpose of the video is to show an alternative route that goes through the central part of Hussein Dey instead of just driving all the way to El Harrach then access the motorway to go the bus station. Usually, there is traffic in the area of El Harrach in the late afternoon. So, the Hussein Dey route could be a more or less practical alternative.

Driving in Algiers - From the Algiers Main Bus Station to Central Algiers

In this video, I'm driving from the Algiers Main Bus Station in Kharouba (Gare Routière du Caroubier) ton Central Algiers. For thousands of travelers coming from towns and cities from all over Algeria, the Gare Routière of Kharouba is the entrance point to Algiers and it's essential for them to know how to go from that station to other parts of the city. Have a nice trip :-)

Lost In Algiers - How to drive back to National Highway 5 (Ben Aknoun Motorway) from N1

In this video, I'm showing you how to drive back to the Ben Aknoun-Dar El Beida Motorway (National Highway 5) from National Highway 1 (N1 - Blida Road) in case you take the latter by mistake. It's very important to learn how to correct your errors on the road as soon as you make them, but sometimes, that's not really easy, hence this video where we had to enter Birkhadem, drive around its complex network of streets, get back on National Highway 1 before we re-entered National Highway 5.

Driving in Algiers - From El Madania to Ben Aknoun then back to El Madania

On this round trip, I'm driving from El Madania (formerly known as Clos Salembier) to Ben Aknoun then back to my departure point in El Madania. In this video, you'll also have a look at Algiers on a nice Friday afternoon... No traffic jams whatsoever :-)

Driving in Algeria 🇩🇿 - From Lakhdaria to Guerrouma ➡🚗 Bouira

#Bouira #Lakhdaria #Guerrouma #Algeria
#DrivinginAlgeria #RoadtripinAlgeria

On this adventure trip, I'm driving from the town of Lakhdaria (50 km southeast of Algiers, in the province of Bouira) to the little town of Guerrouma, comfortably nestled in the Tell Atlas mountains, in the northwestern end of the province. Believe it or not, I've been planning on visiting Guerrouma for at least twenty years and it's only this time that I've finally managed to convince my mind to undertake this journey. I've always wanted to discover what this beautiful (and very unknown) area looks like and it's in this video that I'm traveling for the first time in my life to go and discover it with my friend and companion Fares Ouzir who enjoys photography and has an Instagram page where he publishes his beautiful works. I shouldn't forget my little son who was traveling with us in the back seat :-) Our departure point was the town of Lakhdaria, the main town in the area, but I never imagined that the road to Guerrouma would be so hilly and the mountains there would be so high!!! When we finally arrived in the town, you can't imagine how relieved I was! We didn't get lost and the phone didn't overheat, ruining the video :-) I also learned from a few errors I made while filming this video: 1- I shouldn't go on long trips without taking a power bank (my phone died shortly after I finished filming and we were still in the middle of those wonderful but remote mountains while it was getting dark!!! How would I have called for help if, God forbid, we got in some trouble :-)) 2- During our ascent of the very hilly road leading to the top of the mountain in the area where Guerrouma is located, we had the sun right in front of us and that ruined somewhat the quality of the image in the video - That was because we were facing the west late in the afternoon while, in fact, when I'm filming on a sunny day, I shouldn't go to a location located in the west late in the afternoon, otherwise, all I would be filming is sunshine :-p Anyways, I think that even if the video isn't as perfect or beautiful as I wanted it to be, it remains at least useful for anyone who wants to explore these very beautiful areas of the Algerian Tell Atlas that are, also, much less known than famous mountain places like Chrea and Tikjda. Enjoy :-)
