????Parc de la Trinitat????

The park Trinidad (in Catalan , Parc de la Trinitat ) is located in the district of Sant Andreu in Barcelona , within the space formed by the Nudo de la Trinidad, a major axis road connecting the Ronda de Dalt with El Litoral , bordering the municipality of Santa Coloma de Gramanet . It was created by Enric Batlle and Joan Roig in 1993.

The park is circular in shape, due to the space formed by the Trinity Knot. With 14,000 trees, the creation of the park placed the Sant Andreu district in fifth place in number of trees by city district. In the center of the park stands a hill covered with trees, designed to muffle the noise of traffic. At its feet, there is a 245 m long lake, semicircular in shape, which was navigable at the beginning, although nowadays it no longer has boats. From the lake stands out the sculpture Woman Bathing , by Rafael Bartolozzi , while in the wooded area there is the sculptural frieze Runaway Horses , by Joaquim Ros i Sabaté . There is also an amphitheaterfor 500 people, an urban garden, a picnic area with barbecues , a bar, sports areas, a children's area, a car-modeling track and bathrooms.

????Via Sepulcral Romana????

The sepulchral way of the Plaza de la Villa de Madrid is a Roman necropolis from the 1st to 3rd centuries located in the Plaza de la Villa de Madrid and its surroundings, in Barcelona. The site is at a lower level than the square, although the urbanization allows it to be seen from the street. It is one of the various heritage spaces managed by the Barcelona History Museum.

Between the 1st and 3rd centuries, Roman law prohibited burials within the city and for this reason the funerary areas of Barcino were located outside, along the paths that led out, beginning to touch the walls themselves. In this context , the necropolis of the Plaza de la Villa in Madrid is considered a secondary sepulchral route, away from the wall and with burials of middle or lower class people (slaves and freedmen). On the contrary, it is the Barcelona necropolis of this time found in a better state of conservation and better studied, since of the rest only punctual remains have been located and, above all, remains of funerary monuments used in the extension of the Roman wall in the fourth century.

The axis of the necropolis is the road, about five meters wide, of which remains have been found between Portaferrissa Street and Santa Ana Street and which left the city through the south-western gate (towards the current Calle de la Boqueria) and headed towards the Corts or Sarrià. On both sides are the tombs in rows but without a regular arrangement, and with the necropolis delimited by a wall on the outer side. 85 tombs of different types have been identified: six monolithic cupae, six altars, one stela, two slabs with inscription, thirty-three burial mounds (two of them conical and the rest quadrangular or masonry cupae), seventeen burials protected with tiles and amphorae and twenty burials without remains of protection of any kind. Currently, three more monolithic cupae can be seen in the sepulchral way than there were originally, since these three cupae from the excavations of the wall were placed at the end of the 1950s in the locations where the highly damaged remains of three cupae of work.

Shortly after the necropolis ceased to be used, it was covered with alluvial deposits from the torrents that flow down from Collserola. This kept the stones hidden and prevented them from being reused as building material. In 1956 it was discovered during earthworks for the construction of the building that currently occupies the southeast side of the square, and a first excavation campaign was carried out, followed by another in 1959. Between 2000 and 2003 excavations were carried out again , coinciding with the last urbanization of the square, and in 2008 the current museum was inaugurated.

The exceptionality of the site consists in the fact that the tombs have been found in their original context, since of the vast majority of Roman tombs that we know of, we only have stone elements reused in other works or isolated tombs. As an example, numerous examples of monolithic cupae have been found in Barcelona (28 in total), but of these only the six of this sepulchral pathway have been found in the original place.

Places to see in ( Girona - Spain ) Castillo de Tossa de Mar

Places to see in ( Girona - Spain ) Castillo de Tossa de Mar

Originally constructed to spot marauders at sea, the walled medieval Castillo de Tossa de Mar now looks out over the much less menacing scene of locals and vacationers lazing on the wide beach below.

This castle-cum-lighthouse on the top of Mt. Guardí dates back to the 12th century, and you can reach it via a walk or a short tram ride up the hill. Once at the Castillo de Tossa de Mar , stand by the cannons pointing out over the cliff to imagine yourself defending the city against medieval pirates.

A handful of restaurants built within old houses in the castle walls provide ideal spots for lunch. Add Castillo de Tossa de Mar and other attractions to your Tossa de Mar trip

Tossa de Mar is architecturally a medieval masterpiece, Tossa de Mar sits majestically on Catalonia’s Girona coast – basking in its beautiful Mediterranean climate. The walled old town offers stunning views of the surrounding coast, and is the perfect location to soak up some of the history of the region, as well as the sun. Did you know that Marc Chagall, the French painter, loved the quality of their life.

( Girona - Spain ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting Girona . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Girona - Spain

????Parc de Josep Maria Serra Martí????

The Josep Maria Serra Martí Park is located in the Nou Barris District of Barcelona . It was created in 1994 by Cinto Hom and Carles Casamor .

The park is dedicated to Josep Maria Serra Martí (Barcelona, 1927-1991), an industrial engineer and socialist politician , who was Deputy Mayor for Urban Planning and Municipal Services of Barcelona and one of the promoters of the 1992 Olympic Games.

The park is located in the Canyelles neighborhood , touching the Ronda de Dalt . It is a neighborhood area, where one day a week an open-air market is organized. Being on a terrain with a certain unevenness, it is structured in platforms separated by green slopes, with a multipurpose esplanade in the center. The nerve center of the park is the Manuel de Falla Magic Fountain, the work of Pedro Barragán , made up of a pond that houses a metal platform from which the water cascades down, and two large rocks next to some water jets; It also has games of light and sound, hence the name magic fountain. Also on site is a sculpture of a bailaora flamenco entitled Joys, by Ignasi Farreras . The park also has a children's area and ping-pong tables .

La Sagrada Familia - Ugly Duckling or Beautiful Swan? (Vlog 2)

I ask if La Sagrada Familia is an ugly duckling or a beautiful swan for two reasons. When we were first researching Barcelona and I discovered La Sagrada Familia, I thought it was the ugliest thing I had ever seen. But then I saw photos and videos of the interior and thought it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say.

So when we decided to do our Wonder of the Seas transatlantic cruise and spend a few days in Barcelona, we booked a tour of La Sagrada Familia with Get Your Guide (link below) at 12:30 pm the day we arrived in Barcelona since we weren't able to check into our hotel until 3:00. This tour was fantastic and I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a tour of La Sagrada Familia. The tour was 1.5 hours long, but we were allowed to stay as long as we wanted in the church after the tour was finished. The next day we returned to La Sagrada Familia on a different tour with Spain Day Tours as part of their Barcelona & Montserrat all day tour (link below). This time we were simply visiting the exterior of the church and I've added two brief videos at the end of this video where our tour guide was discussing Antoni Gaudi and the building of the church.

You might also note a quick shot of an apartment building towards the end. That apartment complex is due to be destroyed in order to finish the church. The front stairs to the church are supposed to be built where the apartment building is located. The church is due to be completed (after 100 years of construction) in the early 2030s.

Vineyard Baronia de Vilademuls and Restaurant Can Xabanet, Banyoles - Spain 4K Travel Channel

Parets d’Emporda is a village in the municipality of Vilademuls on the right bank of the Fluvià. It belongs to the county of Pla de l’Estany in the province of Girona. The original character of the villages has remained unchanged in this area. In Parets d’Emporda we visit the winery of Joaquim Reig and his wife Montserrat Torrens. Joaquim has been producing wine for 12 years. Initially it all began as a hobby after his retirement. “If I play tennis, I spend only money and have no wine to drink,” he says jokingly.
He cultivates about 2000 vines, of it are 40% Cabernet, 30% Tempranillo, 30% Grenache Noir with a yield of approximately 2200 l / year. In the year 2008, 1.200 bottles were produced, two years of late already 2300.
Parets d’Emporda lies 70 meters above sea level. The dry and cool winds, like the Tramontana from the mountains and the Marinada in summer from the sea, provide a pure air. So there are no problems with insects, mites or fungal attack in the vineyards. The clay soil ensures, that the plants get enough humidity without being watered.
In the wine cellar we learn more about the production of the Baronia de Vilademuls.
In September, the grapes are hand harvested and pressed. After 10 days of fermentation in aluminium tanks, it is put into oak barrels. In mid-March, the wine is drawn off the sediment; this always happens at full moon or new moon (Luna Vella). After at least 10 months in oak barrels, the wine rests for 2 years in the bottle. Also bottling, corking and labeling is done by the family. 4 people can complete about 500 bottles per hour.
At first Joaquim sold only to aquaintance. Today, one will find the wine in local gourmet restaurants, as well as in Belgium and the Netherlands. In 2012 started to commercialize his wines via D.O Catalunya.
In his cellar, Joaquim shows proudly a barrel form his grandfather, dating from 1957. At expansion works they discovered a sealed cellar, a connection to the former castle. The history goes back to the 10th century. At that time the village was an ancient settlement, which was dominated by a castle. The location was convenient, because a ford in the river allowed to collect tolls.
