Sitges is a lovely Mediterranean coastal city, a seaside resort some 35km southwest of Barcelona in Catalunya, Spain. Sitges is a seaside town with great beaches and excellent tourist facilities.
Recognized as one of the most charming cities and prestige of the northeast shore, enjoys a temperate and mild micro climate, which means that visitors may enjoy enviable temperatures every month of the year Sitges has one of most vibrant and hippest homosexual scenes on the coast.
The beaches are extremely vibrant and fun! The city, which overlooks the Mediterranean has big paths, narrow roads, four museums and the stunning shores of Costa Dorada/Golden Coast.
Sitges offers a large range of restaurants. You will find that best suits your taste. The Mediterranean cuisine is provided in high quality level in the majority of institutions. Highly recommended to attempt establishments.
Sitges has a wide selection of shops, town center roads are filled with little stores that enable customers to satisfy their consumption needs. The Main Street, The Parellades road, The Cap de la Vila, Jesus Street, the Sant Francesc road,... are some of the most commercial streets of the town centre.
There are assorted craftworks goods Sitges, are famous miniature reproductions of the most characteristic elements of the Local Festa Major.
In Sitges (unlike local Barcelona) all the stores are permitted to open on Sundays. You will find a wide range of fashion stores across the city. Several of them take top brands.
Pedestrian streets on town centre get quite crowded on Sunday afternoons with tourists and people from Barcelona purchasing. Be mindful that several stores on the day open only after 17:30 and keep open until 21:00.

El Patronato de Turismo de la Diputación de Lleida ha creado el proyecto Oleoturismo de Lleida. El Sabor de la Tierra en cinco comarcas de la demarcación. En este vídeo visitamos algunos lugares y realizamos experiencias oleoturísticas en tres comarcas de esta iniciativa: Les Garrigues, El Segrià y L’Urgell.
Les Borges Blanques, capital del aceite y de la comarca de Les Garrigues, cuenta con atractivos como su plaza porticada, el parque del Terrall y el Espai Macià, dedicado al político republicano Francesc Macià, que fue presidente de la Generalitat de Catalunya en los años 30 del siglo pasado. También merece la pena descubrir en Cal Gineret, un antiguo molino de aceite reconvertido en centro de interpretación de la memoria democrática de la Guerra Civil.
La localidad de Arbeca es la cuna de la oliva arbequina. Aquí está el Hostal La Placeta, que tiene un restaurante con el distintivo “Verge Extra” (Virgen Extra) que se ha creado en la comarca de Les Garrigues para dar visibilidad a aquellos establecimientos que apuesten por el aceite virgen extra y los productos locales.
En La Granadella se encuentran el Museo del Aceite de Catalunya, donde se ve maquinaria antigua y se conoce cuál era el proceso de elaboración del acite antes de la modernización. Muy cerca, en el Centro de Cultura de Aceite de Catalunya, ubicado en el antiguo convento de la Granadella, degustaremos dos tipos de aceite: este refinado y este otro de la cooperativa de la Granadella. Por su parte, en la localidad de Els Torms conocemos las fincas de Olicatessen que trabajan con aceite ecológico procedente de árboles centenarios de variedad de olivas recuperadas. En Olicatessen organizan varias actividades para los visitantes como, por un ejemplo la poda de olivos en familia.
Por último, en esta ruta se visita el yacimiento rupestre la Roca de los Moros o Cuevas del Cogul que constituyen un gran referente del arte rupestre del arco mediterráneo. En el año 1998 sus pinturas fueron declaradas Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la Unesco.
En la comarca de El Segrià conocemos Torrebesses y su su centro histórico. Destaca el Centro de Interpretación de la Piedra Seca además de algunas edificaciones como el aljibe o las cabañas construidos mediante esta técnica de origen tradicional en la que no se usa ningún tipo de mortero o argamasa. También se descubren otros elementos de su patrimonio como el Castell Palau, la iglesia de Sant Salvador con su retablo, la iglesia nueva o el molino del Bep de Canut, del siglo XIX. Una recomendación gastronómica es el restaurante Café 7 que ofrece un menú degustación Tierra del Aceite.
Nuestra primera experiencia en la comarca del Urgell nos lleva al Monasterio de Santa Maria de Vallbona de les Monges, en el municipio del mismo nombre. Se trata del único monasterio femenino de la Ruta del Císter y el único que se ha conservado ininterrumpidamente la comunidad durante más de 850 años.
Continuamos nuestro recorrido por El Urgell para conocer la Olivera, una cooperativa de integración social que incorpora personas con dificultades. En L’Olivera se elaboran vinos y aceites desde el año 1974 y es una bodega que pertenece a la DO Costers del Segre y a la Ruta del Vino de Lleida. A unos diez minutos en coche está Cal Menut, en la localidad de Belianes, una casa rural que cuenta con excelentes propuestas gastronómicas en su restaurante.
Finalizamos esta ruta oleoturística por las comarcas de Lleida es Mas de Colom Casa Borges ubicado en Tàrrega, la capital del Urgell. Mas Colom es un centro experiencial con recursos audiovisuales inmersivos, emocionales y didácticos. Aquí se realizan catas de aceite y de frutos secos.
