Ride the Via Verde de la Sierra in Andalucia, Spain. With Hike and Bike the Sierras of Ronda.
After a short drive from Ronda you could be riding the Via Verde de la Sierra. This is a great way to enjoy the Spanish country side on a bike. Traffic free, almost flat and cafe's at both ends and in the middle.
Day Trip Details:
This is a very popular ride along the wide, unsurfaced track of a disused railway line. It is an easy trail, heading gently downhill for most of the way, so is suitable for families and leisure cyclists.
The route meanders through valleys, olive groves, forests and along flowing rivers. You will pass through 30 tunnels, with the longest nearly 1km in length (automatic lighting in the longer tunnels or you can bring a headtorch if you prefer). You will also ride over 4 viaducts and past a griffon vulture colony, where they nest high up on the cliffs above the track. Watch these huge birds soar effortlessly through the air and maybe pop into the visitor centre to watch the “vulture-cam”.
Note: This route is self-guided; we drive you to the start point at the old station building in Olvera (approx 45 minutes from Ronda) and the minibus meets you in Puerto Serrano to bring you back to Ronda. We allow 3.5 hours for the ride itself along the Via Verde.

La Plaza de la Virgen Blanca / Andre Maria Zuriaren Plaza
Es la plaza más emblemática de la ciudad y el principal punto de encuentro para ciudadanía y visitantes. Está coronada por la iglesia de San Miguel (siglos XIV-XVI) y en el centro se ubica el monumento a la Batalla de Vitoria, que conmemora un acontecimiento internacional, la derrota de las tropas de Napoleón en 1813. La escultura vegetal con el nombre de la ciudad fue colocada en 2012 para celebrar otro hito: Vitoria-Gasteiz fue Capital Verde Europea aquel año.

San Inazio Festival Boise Idaho Basque (Hegoak with lyrics) | Backpacking Diplomacy
The annual Basque festival in Boise Idaho, known as San Inazio, takes place in July. Basque people from the old country and Basque Americans join together to celebrate traditional music, typical dances and dishes, and time with family and friends. Read more here:
The festival takes place in the Basque Block found in the heart of downtown Boise.
This highlight video has clips from various moments in the 2018 festival. There are scenes from the Txantxangorriak musical group, performances by Oinkari Basque Dancers, and other live performances. The food and dishes shown all come from local Basque restaurants near the Basque block.
