Zhob is a famous and beautiful city of Balochistan Pakistan, the 2nd oldest city of Balochistan Province after Quetta. Old name of Zhob was Apozai and as per the Chinese Archeologist Hieun Psiang said that this region was inhabited by Afghanis. Qais Abdur Rashid lived in the Sulaiman Mountains - whose grave is present in Shinghar Da Kase Ghar. Shinghar is surrounded by gardens of Chalghozas and the most beautiful site ever to visit in Zhob.
Karez system is still present in Zhob district.
Famous rulers of zhob were Mughals, Nadir Shah, Ahmad Shah Abdali, Jagozai Family, British and then Pakistan.
There were different Kakar Sardars like Shah Jehan, Shahbaz Khan kakar, Dost Muhammad Kakar and Bengol Khan kakar who resisted against british colonization.
Robert Sandeman became the political leader of Zhob in 1890 and he made a Sandeman fort on high site hill station. Now Sandeman fort is being used by Assistan Commissioner of Zhob. There is also a FC mess in Zhob with a unique and marvelous historical museum having different old british times rifles, old radios, fans, Sofas, and different daily use items.
Zhob city is connected with other cities of Pakistan by rail and roads.
In 1976, the ex prime minister of Pakistan Late Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto changed the name of Fort Sandeman to Zhob due to Zhob river starting from Kaan Materzai to Khajuri kach River gomal.
Zhob is surrounded by Afghanistan, Waziristan Agency, Dera Ismail Khan, Musa Khail, Loralai and Qila Saifullah district.
This division is divided into 7 districts like District Barkhan, district Killa Saifullah, District Loralai, District Musa Khail, District Sherani, District Duki and District Zhob.
There are 2 Tehsils of Zhob like Qamar Din Karez and tehsil Zhob.
There are 3 sub tehsils of Zhob like Ashwat, sub tehsil Kashaatoo, and sub tehsil Sambaz.
If we talk about weather of Zhob then weather here is very much pleasant in april, may, october and november.
Snowfall is normal in Zhob during winter season.
Famous tribes of Zhob are Kakar tribe, Sherani Tribe, Nasar Tribe, Khosti Tribe, Babar Tribe, Lawoon tribe, Harifal tribe and Safi tribe.
Pakistan's civil aviation authority built and airport here called Zhob national airport. This zhob airport is very much important due to it's strategical position.
Landhi is the most famous dish of Zhob.

We will take you to Zhob, a city in Balochistan province of Pakistan. This city is also a district in Balochistan. Zhob is the oldest populated area in Balochistan province after Quetta. Located on the banks of the Zhob River, the city was originally named Apozai after a nearby village, but was renamed Fort Sandeman in the British colonial era, but its current name was changed by the late Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, former Prime Minister of Pakistan, on 30 July. It was changed to Zhob in 1976.
The total area of Zhob district is twenty two thousand nine hundred and ninety seven square kilometers. The population of Zhob city is sixty seven thousand seven hundred and thirty seven people. The population is 310,544 and has a population of 15 people per square kilometer. A Chinese tourist, Xuanzong, visited the area in 629 AD and mentioned the Pashtuns living in Zhob. In 1398, the Mongols also invaded the area, but today only the remains of the forts and tombs of the Mughal emperors are found here.
Until 1884, the area was out of sight of the Europeans. In 1899, the area of Zhob Valley Gomal was taken over by the British Raj. The location of the cantonment is also the largest ethnic group in the population of Zhob district is Pashtun. Afghanistan in the north and Loralai in the south, South Agency and Qila Saifullah in the southwest. Zhob railway station was also built during the British rule.
Similarly, during the British rule, small houses were built around the city where soldiers could be on duty 24 hours a day. Starting from Khanozai, this river flows at a distance of 4 km from Zhob and joins Gomal river near Khajuri Kach. The area of Zhob is a work of unparalleled nature. The Ford Sandeman is a masterpiece museum in which the memories of the past are still alive today because the unique antiquities in this museum are decorated in a very cheerful manner.
The artefacts include British-era radios, weapons, utensils, sofas and many decorative specimens. The Ford is also used as an assistant commissioner's office. Here are some great gifts that are well worth the price, but once they reach other cities in the country, they are worth thousands, which are far beyond the reach of the common man. In summer the temperature here is up to 40 degrees Celsius while in winter the temperature goes down to zero due to severe cold and snow.
Zhob is a very important place in terms of tourism. Dera Ismail Khan and Zhob are connected to each other due to C-Pak Road and it is of special importance to enter directly from Balochistan to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab. Zhob Pakistan Railway It is also connected to the network. The Zhob Line separates from the Chaman Line at Bostan, north of Quetta. The Civil Aviation Authority of Pakistan has also built an airport in Zhob with a runway of 6,390 feet.
From here flights to other major cities of Pakistan are also operated. Quetta Bus Terminal and DI Khan Bus Terminal are the major bus stands of Zhob from where bus services to other major cities of the country provide their services in Zhob area. The existing Sibqazai Dam is a natural dam which is also very famous for its tourism. Similarly, the location of Saliyasa located at a distance of 10 km from the city is called a tourist paradise where the water falls down like a staircase. The one that touches the hearts of beauty lovers is the most eaten dish in Zhob.

Zhob is located on the banks of Zhob River 337 km from Quetta, the capital of Balochistan. The city was originally named Appozai after a nearby village. Zhob is famous for its beautiful mountains, treks and archeological sites. It starts from the Muslim Bagh (7500 feet) and ends at the Afghan border at Fort Sandeman (10000 feet). It expands to beautiful, breathtaking views throughout the valley.
