Tamale City Tour Part 1

A ride through some principal streets of Northern regional capital Tamale, Subscribe to the channel and watch more videos.
Tamale is located in the Northern Region of Ghana and more precisely in the Kingdom of Dagbon. The local (neighbourhood) chiefs and the district chief of Tamale are subservient to the Dagomba King in Yendi. The language of the people in Tamale is Dagbani.

Tamale has developed and transformed significantly in the last few years. The new dimension of Tamale's development is the rush by various companies to open branches in Tamale.

The hospitality industry has grown significantly, with new hotels and guest houses built around Tamale. Tamale grew from a conglomeration of towns where one could find an architectural blend of traditional mud houses and more modern buildings.

Due to its central location, Tamale serves as a hub for all administrative and commercial activities in the Northern Region, doubling as the political, economic and financial capital of the Northern Region. The centre of Tamale hosts regional branches of financial institutions and a considerable number of international and local nongovernmental organisations.

Tamale | Ghana | Northern Region, Central Mosque, Kingdom of Dagbon, financial institutions

Ghana City Game with Tamale :
Country tournament :
Tamale (Akan: [ˈtamalɛ]),[needs tone markings] officially called Tamale Metropolitan Area, is the capital town of the Northern Region of Ghana. Tamale is Ghana's fourth-largest city. It has a 2013 projected population of 360,579 according to the 2010 census[2] and is the fastest-growing city in West Africa.[3][4] The town is located 600 km (370 mi) north of Accra.[5] Most residents of Tamale are Muslims, as reflected by the multitude of mosques in Tamale, most notably the Central Mosque. The Sunnis and the Ahmadiyyans also have their own central mosques, north of the town centre along Bolgatanga Road.
Tamale is located in the Northern region and more precisely in the Kingdom of Dagbon. The local (neighbourhood) chiefs and the district chief of Tamale are subservient to the Dagomba Paramount Chief (King) in Yendi.
Due to its central location, Tamale serves as a hub for all administrative and commercial activities in the Northern region, doubling as the political, economic and financial capital of the Northern region. The centre of Tamale hosts regional branches of financial institutions and a considerable number of international nongovernmental organisations.[6]
Tamale has developed and transformed significantly in the last few years.[7] The new dimension of Tamale's development is the rush by various companies to open branches in Tamale. The hospitality industry has grown significantly, with new hotels and guest houses built around Tamale.[8] Tamale grew from a conglomeration of towns where one could find an architectural blend of traditional mud houses and more modern buildings. Tamale's new and modern facilities include the newly constructed Tamale Stadium, replacing the town's former principal football pitch, Kaladan Park, with a world-class venue. Indeed, many improvements to Tamale's infrastructure occurred in the period leading up to the 2008 African Cup of Nations tournament. Further improvements were made, particularly to Tamale's road system.[8] Upon arriving in the city, one will be quick to notice that the roads of the city are occupied with motorcycles with mapukas being the most patronised. This, however, does not interfere with the steady smooth flow of traffic on the major roads of the city.

yendi | story

In 2018, a team of doctors and surgeons travelled to a small remote city in Ghana called Yendi to help support the hospital that serves over 130,000 people from villages near and far.

This hospital in Yendi employs one surgeon who is overrun by the cases of disease, injuries, and many needs of this large area he is there to support. The hospital lacks basic equipment and training to help meet these needs. Currently, they are being supported by this same team that travelled and operated for two weeks through technological advances. iPads were left behind, and using these tablets they can contact skilled, trained doctors and nurses in the U.S. when a need arises. Additionally, hospitals and medical supply companies in the U.S. are becoming involved to help supply medical equipment and training to further support the large needs.

Hope is being brought back into this community and impacting countless lives through medicine and people like Mustapha who are committed to Yendi.

We walked from the independence square right to the Makola market and experienced great places like the ministeries and many more
We tried some Ghanaian street foods like roasted plantain, tiger but and coconut .
A lot of things can be found at Makola market in Accra
Makola market is the biggest market in Ghana and Africa

Makola market is also known as the Central Business District, it comprises a series of interconnected compartments, south of Jamestown, one of the original settlements in Accra. These quarters, like Kantamanto (the largest second clothing market in Ghana), Okaishie, Rawlings Park and Cowlane, segregate the market into distinct sections, where specialised goods and services can be found.

Makola Market is a renowned market place and shopping district in the centre of the city of Accra, the capital of Ghana.A wide array of products is sold in the markets and its surrounding streets, from car parts to land snails. Dominated by women traders, the market sells fresh produce, manufactured and imported foods, clothes, shoes, tools, medicines, and pots and pans.

Jewellery made from locally handcrafted beads can also be found for sale in the market. About 25% of the 70% market women are employed in Makola market.
Makola Market was featured in the Travel Channel show Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations with Anthony Bourdain in the Ghana episode. During the episode, Bourdain walked through the market, where he sampled local wares and enjoyed a condensed milk-toffee drink made with local herbs.

The major sections remain open all week round, from 6am to 8pm.
The busiest days or market days at Makola market are Wednesdays and Saturdays, when most of the shops restock their inventories.
