Germany: The Hanseatic city of Anklam
Anklam is a town in the Western Pomerania region of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany. It is situated on the banks of the Peene river, just 8 km from its mouth in the Kleines Haff, the western part of the Stettin Lagoon. Anklam was the capital of the former Ostvorpommern district. Since September 2011, it has been part of the district of Vorpommern-Greifswald.
The town is home to various historic buildings.
You can visit the Otto Lilienthal Museum and the Anklamer Steintor, which is a 13th century city gate. This only surviving city gate of the Hanseatic city of Anklam is a landmark of the city. After extensive restoration, since 1989 it has housed the regional history museum in the Steintor. It is the highest city gate of Pomerania and has a stepped gable.

Rügen - The beautiful island in the Eastsea. Or rather Baltic Sea (Germany)
For Germans this Island is very well known for its beaches and spa like atmosphere. Especially the chalk cliffs are famous. I did a roadtrip and visited a friend on Ruegen and had to realize again, that my home country has also really nice places to visit...if the weather is good:) See places like Sassnitz, Binz, Sellin, Proras. But the east coast has even more interesting places like Strahlsund, Lübeck, Fehmarn or Timmendorfer Beach. Enjoy the film.

Cycle Tour Day 30 Świnoujście to Wolgast
Connal Tours European Cycling Adventure. The ABC Tour - Adriatic to the Baltic Cycling Tour.
Cycle Day 30: Świnoujście (Poland) to Wolgast (Germany). 44.36km. (169vm). Only a short day to get us back into Germany. Heading west along the Baltic Coast. The first 10km were very slow with large numbers of cyclists and walkers. Very touristy strip with tourist shops, bars, restaurants. Plus, some kind of event at one place. Strip of bush separating the promenade from the beach with lots of sand tracks going from cycle path to beach. Endless villas along this strip. Max of 4 storey & all very elegant. Germany & Poland appear to be working together to create a network of cycle paths along the North Pomerania coastline. The cycling infrastructure is great and can be seen to be constantly improving & upgrading. Interesting bridge as we entered - lifts up for large ships. The Peene Bridge in Wolgast is the largest balance beam bascule bridge (in Northern Germany) from the Island of Usedom to Wolgast. Our accommodation is on a small island as you enter the town of Wolgast. Possibly the old original fishing part. Arrived bit early for check-in so into old town for lunch. Very quiet as it is Saturday afternoon - everybody must be out cycling & going to the beach. Very peaceful, wandering the cobbled streets and waterways.
Day 30 of 7 weeks cycling the 2400km from south coast to north coast in Europe and a little bit extra.
