Wonderful Village in Southern Germany - Villingen-Schwenningen 4K Ultra HD Footage
Villingen-Schwenningen is a city located in Germany in the southwest of the Land of Baden-Württemberg. With around 81,000 inhabitants, the municipality is the largest in the Black Forest-Baar district.
The particularity of the city lies in the fact that it consists of two entities corresponding to two formerly independent towns, namely Villingen and Schwenningen. The two former municipalities merged in 1972 to become Villingen-Schwenningen. Another particularity is geographical: between the two old towns less than 5 kilometers apart, runs along a north-south axis the watershed between the North Sea (to the north) and the Black Sea (to the east).

Welcome to the Dorotheenhütte in Wolfach, the last glassworks in the Black Forest that still manufactures mouth blown glass. You can watch the glassblowers and glass grinders at work, have a look in our engraving studio and take a stroll through the large glass country presenting a great selection of decorative articles and gift ideas for a perfectly laid table. In the Christmas village adorned accordingly all year round you will enjoy the festive season‘s atmosphere – even in the midst of summer.

It was indeed a memorable and enjoyable experience to witness the blowing of glass although there was only one worker and we didn’t experience to do it ourselves. It was nice to see the beautiful and incredible pieces they made. We also loved the Christmas village/ shop.

The Northern Black Forest, Germany
The Schwarzwald Hochstrasse is the road going from Baden Baden into the Black Forest. The first of the road is surrounded by forest. One of the main attractions is the Wildsee, a mountain lake. Taking a detour at Bad Petersal one reaches the town of Wolfach, with several half-timbered houses.

Das Wolftal im oberen Kinzigtal im mittleren Schwarzwald gilt als eines der schönsten Täler des Schwarzwaldes. Unbedingt sehenswert ist die kleine Schwarzwaldstadt Wolfach mit seinem mittelalterlichen Stadtkern. Hier ist die Geschichte noch lebendig. Das Stadtbild wird vom 600 Jahre alten, ehemaligen Fürstlich Fürstenbergischen Schloss mit einer stattlichen Länge von 110 Metern und den hochaufragenden und mit Fresken reich bemalten Rathaus geprägt. Das Untere Tor ist eines der letzten Relikte der einst mächtigen Stadtbefestigung.
