Back in the day Western-Super-Mare was the hotspot for tourism in the UK, people from all around the country would come here for a weekend trip or a long holiday. However in recent years Weston has been on a steep decline! Half the town is boarded up and locals are leaving for a new life elsewhere.

Weston Super Mare is located in the South West of England in the county of Somerset. The nearest big city is Bristol. The M5 is a few miles away with plenty of parking available including parking on the beach. Weston also has rail links and the nearest airport is Bristol. There are many hotels in and around the town and if you look closely at the video you will see a few.
The main attractions are the beach and pier. Weston is famous for its tide, beware the tidal flow is one of the biggest in the world due to its location on the Bristol channel. The pier has been rebuilt a few times due to fires. It now houses an array of attractions as shown in the video.
Many people come here for holidays, weekends, events, and days out with plenty to do in Weston and further afield.

This is British food's best kept secret. I know my English food but had never heard of a fish and chips butty with mushy peas but there is no turning back. This is a must try that you won't find in a travel guide and the best thing to get from a fish and chip shop! This travel and food vlog we are in Weston Super Mare in Somerset and Alex wanted to show off some of his favourite places like Sand Point and Uphill.

Weston-super-Mare Walk: Town Centre & Beach【4K】
Located on the coast of Somerset, around 20 miles southwest of Bristol, is the town of Weston-super-Mare.
The name comes from a combination of Anglo-Saxon (Weston just means a settlement in the west) and Latin - with super-Mare translating to 'over the sea'. How it came to have a Latin-derived name in the first place is something of a mystery though.
Like many seaside towns in Britain, Weston-super-Mare was, for several centuries, a small fishing village. The 1801 census records it as having a population of just 108. Then in 1841 the railway arrived in Weston, courtesy of the Bristol and Exeter Railway prior to its merger with Great Western Railway, the current owners of the station. Visitors were now able to reach Weston-super-Mare from many parts of the country, including South Wales via paddle steamer.
It follows then that much of the architecture in Weston-super-Mare is Victorian. The town hall seen at the end of the video, for instance, was completed in 1856. There are, however, some more modern buildings in parts that were damaged during the Second World War despite Weston being an evacuee destination. Side note: if you want to know what a 100% (more-or-less) Victorian town would look like, I'd recommend Llandudno.
Weston-super-Mare's famous Grand Pier dates back to 1904. There is an older pier to its north - namely Birnbeck Pier. Opening in 1867, this pier connected the mainland to Birnbeck Island; all 3 acres of it at least. Birnbeck Pier closed in 1994 and is now derelict. The Grand Pier, however, entertains many visitors to this day.
Famous people from Weston-super-Mare include John Cleese, Jeffrey Archer, and the late Jill Dando, who has a park in the town named after her (Jill's Garden).

Weston Super Mare Seafront evening Drone video 4K Cinematic
Weston Super Mare is one of the most popular tourist destinations in North Somerset. Although it was fully crowded most of the summer, I recently had a brief chance to fly over Weston seafront just after sunset. I used only a single battery to shoot and then decided to wrap up due to too much public interest. Unfortunately, I forgot to take off my ND filter hence why maybe some noise was introduced into the footage. Lesson learned!!
Weston-super-Mare, also known as Weston, is a seaside town in North Somerset, England. It lies by the Bristol Channel 20 miles (32 km) southwest of Bristol between Worlebury Hill and Bleadon Hill. The Grand Pier is one of the most popular tourist attractions in the town. It houses funfair-style attractions, a go-kart track, cafes, a fudge factory, and a host of arcade games, and underwent a £34 million re-development after a fire in 2008 destroyed the main pavilion. Weston is hosting the iconic 40-meter tall Observation Wheel right on the busy seafront. Offering breathtaking views across Weston bay and across the heart of Weston a trip on the wheel is an absolute must for any visitor to the town.
