5 TOP Things to do in Galicia | Travel Guide

Join us on our travel adventures around Spain! We leave the city of Salamanca and drive to the beautiful region of Galicia! Here are the 5 TOP Things to do in Galicia, Spain.

Curious about our Travel Map for this region of Spain? Check it out here ????

Located in Northwestern Spain, Galicia makes up Spain's Atlantic coastline. The region is more green, luscious and rainy compared to other regions of Spain. Our first stop in Galicia was the coastal city of Vigo. A lovely city in its own right, it also acts as the main transport hub to our other major destination in Galicia, the Cíes Islands. The Cíes Islands form part of the Atlantic Islands National Park, and is filled with beautiful beaches and wildlife, notably birdlife.

After our time visiting Vigo and the Cíes Islands, we headed to the capital city of Galicia: Santiago de Compostela. Santiago de Compostela is known for being the final destination of the famous Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route, and the alleged burial site of the Biblical apostle St. James.

From Santiago de Compostela we headed north along the rugged Costa da Morte in the northwestern region of Galicia. We stopped at the Playa de los Cristales as well as the beautiful Playa de las Catedrales.

If you find yourself travelling around Spain, be sure to head over to the beautiful region of Galicia, you won't regret it! Blog:

¡Hola, viajero!

The capital of the state is not the only place that is worth a traveler’s attention. If you come to the country for several days, do not stay in the city through your holidays. Leave a day or even two to visit the suburbs. You’ll open a completely different view to yourself. You’ll feel the taste of freedom and unity with nature. Mountains, plains, and cliffs will leave you speechless. When staying at the foot of a mountain or on the edge of a precipice, admiring landscapes will make you hold your breath.

This is what you can see in the video. Observing the territory from the bird’s eye view is the most memorable pastime. Our drone has shot the most admiring places in the country. If you’re going to visit the state, do not skip an opportunity to visit to the highest point of the state (for example, climb a mountain, go to an observation deck). There is something special about Spain that makes it a popular holiday for tourists time and time again. Its stunning beaches, dynamic metropolises, and cultural offerings are second to none. Spain has one of the longest coastlines in the Mediterranean, and with so many diverse and beautiful destinations, it can be difficult to decide which places are worth visiting.

I will be sharing with you a list of 10 best places and locations to visit in Spain. Let’s begin!

00:00 intro 10 Best Places To Visit In Spain
00:39 Granada
1:27 Alicante
2:06 Barcelona
2:59 Rodas Beach, Vigo
3:39 Mallorca
4:14 Seville
5;14 Toledo
6:16 Madrid
7:21 Zaragoza
8:03 Valencia

10. La Alhambra Palace, Granada
History lovers, as well as those who love beautiful masterpieces, will love Granada. Granada's Arabic influence makes this destination different from the rest of Spain. Thanks to its history as part of the Moorish Empire, Granada is home to tapas bars and flamenco venues that rub elbows with Moroccan tea cafes and Arab bathhouses.

9. Alicante
If you are hoping for beautiful white beaches, Alicante will not disappoint. This coastal town is an extremely popular holiday destination, attracting visitors from all over the world. With a day or two here, you can explore Mount Benacantil, home to Santa Barbara Castle. Here you can spend a morning walking in the footsteps of the ancients while being inspired by the magnificent structure in front of you.

8. Barcelona
Barcelona will most likely remain one of Spain's most popular tourist destinations. It is known for its colorful and exciting environment. You find the modern alongside the old architecture in Barcelona. Montjuic Hill is a phenomenal landmark in Barcelona, just over 600 feet tall. Located in the city's old town, the hill overlooks the port of Barcelona and surrounds the Catalan capital.

7. Rodas Beach, Vigo
Vigo, a town on the northwest coast famous for the beach of Rodas, is a must-visit on your trip to Spain. National Geographic called this beach one of the best in the world because of the crescent-shaped, soft, light sand and deep green ocean water.

6. Mallorca
Mallorca is easily one of Spain's greatest assets. This dreamy island getaway features sun-kissed beaches, picturesque small towns and outdoor pursuits that draw tourists in droves. Revel in the see-through blue waters of Playa de Muro and Cala Llombards, then hop in a car and drive around the striking mountains that make up Serra de Tramuntana, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

5. Seville
Seville is the capital of Andalusia in southern Spain and is a lively and fun city. You can explore its historical monuments to truly appreciate its rich past. A visit to the Real Alcazar, for example, will give you a taste of the cosmopolitan architecture of this city. The Cathedral of Seville is also stunning with 80 chapels.

4. Toledo
One of the best places to visit in Spain is Toledo, which can be reached in a 30-minute train ride from the capital, Madrid. More than 200 years passed from the start of construction to completion. That's why this masterpiece is worth a visit to feel true awe and inspiration. Due to the number of historical monuments found here, UNESCO has recognized Toledo as a World Heritage Site.

3. Madrid
Like most capitals, Madrid is a pleasure to explore at any time of the year in Spain. This city is an art lover's treat, and if you're on the fence, then Madrid's golden art triangle might make you an art lover. If you're strolling around the city, the Royal Palace is a masterpiece to check out.
