11. Santiago de Compostela. Hotel Pazo de Altamira is a lovely, modern hotel within a gorgeous old Galician stone building. And it’s right opposite the fabulous market!
10. Jerez de la Frontera. Definitely try and stay at the famous Hotel Casa Grande - a big old mansion with a gorgeous rooftop terrace for drinks -
9. Vera Valley. I would suggest staying in the village Valverde de la Vera and my pick is the cosy and rustic La Picota:
8. Cadaqués. I love Tramantua Hotel, a white-washed gem run by a husband and wife team… service is fantastic, and it’s right in the old city, plus near the beach:
7. Cáceres. We stayed at the budget but good Hotel Iberia Plaza Mayor with views of the square): If you want to stay IN the old city though, the Parador here is a 14th century palace - the full Caceres medieval dream!
6. Oviedo. Prices in Northern Spain are often cheaper, so you can happily get a great hotel here without spending a lot. Check out the excellent Barceló Oviedo Cervantes:
5. Zahara de los Atunes. Either go with Hotel Avenida Playa (simple, clean, and right off the beach - or the slightly more chic Hotel Doña Lola -
4. Las Alpujarras. Casa Rural la Fragua is a gorgeous little tucked away whitewashed apartment in Capileira (either stay here or in Pampaneira). This place is perfect for exploring the villages around the area.
3. El Rocío. I love Hotel La Malvasía with its old-world luxury, the fact it’s only a 5-minutes walk from the famous Santa María del Rocío church and they also have a terrace which is perfect for sunsets.
2. Mejorada del Campo.
Bus info: (take the bus from Conde de Casal). Don’t spend the night there. It’s a day trip. But my favourite Madrid hotels are below (in descending price order):

A walk from the town of Vera Playa to the port of Garrucha in southern Spain.
Vera playa is about a fifteen minute drive from the better known resort of Mojacar and is a popular destination for tourists from France, Germany and the Uk.
It is about an hours drive from Almeria airport, an hour and a half from Murcia airport and just over two hours from Alicante airport.
The area has excellent weather and had beautiful beaches and fantastic Mountain View’s. @flaminpieinSpain
Almeria Province : Hidden Secrets
Almería is the easternmost province of Andalucia. It is also the driest area in Europe and the province with the most hours of sunshine. Here you will find the desert towns around Tabernas, where many famous ‘spaghetti westerns’ were filmed and the arid, volcanic area of the Cabo de Gata. The landscape is often described as lunar, belying the fact that Almería has some of the best beaches in Spain often with magnificent rock formations, and secluded coves with fine sand. Almería is only just being realised as a holiday destination. The main activity of economic importance is greenhouse farming, inland from the coastal resorts of Roquetas de Mar, Aguadulce, Mojacar and Vera.

10. Sagres
Sitting at the westernmost tip of the Algarve, Sagres is the wildest and most untamed destination. Windswept, barren landscapes, towering cliffs, and rough waters are what set this place apart.
9. Portimão
Visit the Portimão museum if you want to learn more about its fishing and canning tradition, or go to the medieval Fort of Santa Catarina de Ribamar for panoramic views. But the biggest draw is undoubtedly Portimão’s nearby Praia da Rocha.
8. Faro & Ria Formosa
From cobblestone streets and cozy squares to a wide range of lagoons and wetlands, Faro boasts a blend of city and nature activities. We really enjoyed a boat tour in the Ria Formosa Natural Park, which is home to canals, marshland and small islands.

With its white houses reaching down to the river, walking around this authentic fishing town is an experience in itself. But Praia Grande is also a great place to relax and enjoy watersports.
5. Lagos & Ponta da Piedade
Lagos has a wide range of cafés and restaurants to choose from, but also some historical sights, such as castle walls, churches, and a fort. Combine this with its spectacular coastline, filled with steep cliffs, caves, and grottoes, and you’ve got one of the most scenic destinations in the Algarve.

4. Serra de Monchique
Apart from beautiful beaches, the Algarve is also home to a rolling mountain range. The town of Monchique lies in pristine nature, surrounded by lush green forests. It’s an idyllic and authentic mountain town with sweeping vistas and a network of nature trails.

3. Silves
This historic town cascades down the hill, flowing out from beneath the beautiful Silves Castle (Castelo de Silves). Enjoy your time learning about the town’s history inside the castle walls as well as on the cobbled streets surrounding it.
2. The 7 Hanging Valleys
This 12km out-and-back hike takes between 4 to 6 hours to complete if you do the full route, and includes views of the Atlantic ocean as well as limestone rock formations. There is some elevation gain and loss as you climb up and down each of the valleys, but overall the hike is easy to moderate.
1. Benagil Cave
The Benagil Cave is a world-class natural attraction in the Algarve. Although it’s only a short distance from Benagil Beach, you still need a kayak, stand up paddle board, or guided boat tour to reach the caves safely.

As always with our travel guides we seek to find the best places for discovering art, entertainment and architecture. In Barcelona you'll find numerous museums with many of them dedicated to the unique Catalunya culture.

This week we are exploring another Spanish city. We are in Barcelona and this video is going to highlight 25 things to do here.
It is kind of hard to believe our time in Barcelona has expired. So final thoughts.
Well, it was a really fun city to visit. Great architecture, really nice beaches. It is very lively especially at night. The only downfall is that we were here in the middle of summer so it was super hot and super crowded and sometimes that made it a little bit difficult to enjoy. Especially at midday or in the mid-afternoon. So keep that in mind. Maybe consider visiting in the springtime, fall, winter.
Well, so what did you think of the city?
It is definitely a fun city. We had a lot of fun going to the beaches. One thing that is really different about this city compared to some other European cities though is that it is really spread out. In order for us to visit all of these different attractions we had to chunk them together into groups to visit them day by day. Overall, it was a decent city. It didn't quite click with me the same way that Madrid did. But that is just personal preference I suppose.
And that is a wrap for Barcelona! Our 5 days in the city flew by, and while this guide didn't cover everything, we hope we were able to give you a feel of what this fun seaside city has to offer. A little time in, VillaRicos, a charming fishing village near Vera playa and Mojácar.
If you're looking for a charming and authentic Spanish experience, then a visit to Villaricos near Vera playa is a must. This quaint fishing village is located on the southeastern coast of Spain and offers stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea. Visitors can wander the narrow streets and soak up the local atmosphere, or relax on the village's small beach. Villaricos is also known for its lively weekly market, where visitors can purchase fresh produce, artisanal crafts, and souvenirs. In addition, the village is a great base for exploring the surrounding area, including the Sierra de Almeria mountains and the nearby Cabo de Gata-Nijar Natural Park. The north of Vera Playa is known for its naturist area, one of the largest in Europe, with accommodation and nightlife. Since 1990, Vera Playa has developed into an important centre for naturism (nudism).

Vera Playa is located to the north of the main tourist resorts of Garrucha and Mojacar on the Costa Almería (Andalusia).
Vera Playa is the beach area which stretches from Puerto Rey to Villaricos.
Vera Playa is unique in Spain in that it is not quite your normal beach resort because of a designated section which is one of Europe’s leading naturist and nudist beach destinations.
Vera Naturista is actually a tiny area in ‘El Playazo – the beach of Vera Playa that is designated to naturists. The rest of El Playazo, Playa Quitapellejos, Playa Puerto Rey and Las Marinas Playa are conventional beaches.

Vera Playa - Strolling February 2022
A gentle stroll along Vera Playa, from El Chumbo on Playa Quitapellejos where the naturist part starts, along to the lifeguards tower, just past Chiringuito Naturista. Lovely sunny February day in 2022, although a bit of a chill wind coming off the sea. One brave soul came out of the chiringuito and waded straight into the sea; wasn't in for long though, definitely would have been on the cool side.
