Klagenfurt am Wörthersee ???????? Austria | Carinthia | 4K

Klagenfurt am Wörthersee. On our way to Italy, we stayed at a lovely city called Klagenfurt. We come back to this place after 27 years. Back then we stopped at the “Camping Klagenfurt am Wörthersee” campsite With every further visit in Austria, we started falling in love with this country even more. Smiling and sympathetic people, clean streets, precisely restored architectural monuments. Beautiful, turquoise Wörthersee lake. The city is called a pearl of renaissance, Italian architects designed it over 800 years ago. The largest city of Carinthia is at the same time it’s capitol. This is the place where different cultures and impacts meet.

The Wörthersee lake can be seen from the A2 highway in the direction to Italy. On the east edge of the lake there is located a city called “Klagenfurt am Wörthersee”, on the northern end of the lake we can find cities called “Pörtschach am Wörther See” and “Krumpendorf am Wörthersee”, on the southern end there are “Maria Wörth” and “Reifnitz”, and lastly on the west side “Velden am Wörther See”. Lake’s water table looks like blue lagoon. We managed to get our legs into the water for a moment. The lake is exceptionally clean and is located 440m above See level. This time we couldn’t visit Minimundus, which is a park of miniatures. There are around 150 minatures of widely known architectural structures from all around the world, created in 1 - 25 scale. The Park itself got opened in 1958, 27 years ago we got lucky and managed to visit this place. Minimundus is 26 thousand square meters big. Beside miniatures there is also a planetarium located in the park.

Was kostet ein Urlaub in Kärnten? Was kann man hier erleben? Wo und wie lässt sich sparen? Das will Reporter Sven Kroll herausfinden.

LUXEMBOURG TRAVEL | Highlights of Luxembourg Country + Travel Itinerary

The country of Luxembourg is situated in western Europe and borders Belgium, France, and Germany. With an area of 2,586 square kilometers (998 sq mi), Luxembourg is one of the smallest countries in all of Europe. But in spite of its size, this country has deep historical roots and offers a lot of diversity. From the rocky gorges in the east to the river valleys in the north and medieval towns with castles perched in between. We’ll now dive into our top 7 interesting places to visit and things to do in the country of Luxembourg.

7. Echternach
Echternach is located in the east of Luxembourg, right next to the German border. It is known as the oldest town in the country, dating back to the end of the 7th century when the Abbey of Echternach was established. Today, you can find a lovely open square, beautiful historical buildings (including the Abbey of Echternach, the adjoined Basilica of Saint Willibrord, the Roman Villa and the Orangery), and cute restaurants. This town makes for a great stop while exploring the countryside, or as a base to explore the unspoilt Mullerthal Region.

6. Mullerthal
The Mullerthal Region itself is probably the most unique area in all of Luxembourg. With an abundance of mysterious caves, small waterfalls, dense forests, and sandstone rock formations, this region is best explored on foot. Experienced hikers can tackle the challenging 112 km (70mi) Mullerthal Trail. But if you just have a few hours or a day, we recommend hiking shorter trails (i.e. Schiessentümpel waterfalls, Huel Lee Cave, Kallektuffquell).

5. Esch-sur-Sûre
Situated in a river valley in north-western Luxembourg, Esch-sur-Sûre is one of the tiniest villages in the country. Here, it seems as if time has stood still. You can see the remains of an old castle on the hill, with narrow streets surrounding it.

4. Clervaux
Located in northern Luxembourg, Clervaux is another countryside town that is worth a visit. Not only is it home to the beautiful Clervaux castle, but you can also walk here in the surrounding forests and hills or explore the small town center and nearby Abbey.

3. Bourscheid
Bourscheid is a small town in north-eastern Luxembourg, known for the country’s largest and most dramatic castle. But besides that, this village is located right next to the river and surrounded by rolling, green hills. Thus, it’s a great place for camping, swimming, and hiking. The long-distance Escapardenne Lee Trail runs through this area, and offers breathtaking views of the river valley (Gringlay View Point).

2. Vianden
Vianden is our favorite town in all of Luxembourg. Located in a valley along the Our River, this village enjoys an idyllic setting. But its main attraction is undoubtedly the Vianden Castle, which has been beautifully restored since 1977 when it passed into state ownership. You can easily combine a visit to the castle with a stroll through the town or a scenic ride on the chairlift.

1. Luxembourg City
Luxembourg City is the vibrant, cultural capital city of the country with an interesting layout. The city is divided into two sections: the High City (Ville Haute), which is the medieval town center situated on a cliff face, and the Low City (Ville Basse), which is located in the ravine that runs through the city.

KLAGENFURT - Austria Travel Guide | Around The World

Klagenfurt (Slovenian: Celovec) is the capital of Carinthia in Austria. It was one of the eight host cities in the 2008 European Football Championships.

Klagenfurt has about 90.000 inhabitants and is located close to Wörthersee. It is the native town of well-known writer Robert Musil (especially known for his book The Man Without Qualities) and is host for the The Ingeborg Bachmann Competition, a famous German literature competition. Gustav Mahler, musician and composer also worked and lived in Klagenfurt. Every year the Beach Volleyball Grand Slam Tournament takes place at Wörthersee lake at the beginning of August.

Most sights of interest can be easily reached by foot. Klagenfurt offers an extensive bus network. Tickets can be bought directly at the bus and cost around € 4,00 (24h ticket) or €0,90 for a single ride. The main bus hub is located at Heiligengeistplatz in the centre of the city.

Hiring a bicycle is recommended if you wish to travel to Klagenfurt's beach, on the shore of the Wörthersee in the Western outskirts of the city. There is a cycle path along the Lendkanal, taking you from Heiligengeistplatz (take the underpass) to the beach and continuing along the northern shore of the Wörthersee all the way to Velden. Bikes can be hired at Neuer Platz.

Lindwurm - Neuer Platz, in the centre of the city. The lindworm is the town's landmark. According to a legend, an evil dragon infested the region where Klagenfurt is located today. The duke of Karnburg promised land to those who would catch and kill the dragon. Eventually a group of menials achieved to kill the dragon by a trick. They got the promised land and set up a village at the place where the dragon was killed. The monument was built in the 16th century. The head of the lindworm was shaped after the head of an glacial rhinoceros found in the same century in this region.

Carinthia, Austria | City of Wolfsberg, Klagenfurt, Villach, lake Wörthersee | Drone 4k video

Carinthia, Austria. There are a lot of places in the world hidden from the wide tourist flows, which only a small number of people know about. As a rule, such places are not crowded, but they have a high level of service, hospitality, and the sights simply cannot be reviewed. Such a place just in Austria is Carinthia, called the Austrian Riviera. After watching a video review of this place, seeing beautiful shots of blue and turquoise lakes, taken from a bird's eye view in 4K quality from a drone, you immediately want to buy a ticket and be in this area.

Velden am Wörthersee - Austria HD Travel Channel

Velden am Wörthersee is one of the most famous and popular tourist resorts of Carinthia.
The place became well-known by the television series Ein Schloss am Wörthersee with Roy Black. The setting for the Austrian-German TV production, the Schloss Velden had lost its purpose after the opening of new casinos in 1989. In the nineties, Gunter Sachs bought the Schloss Velden and started to renovate, then he sold again; Today it is the center of an exclusive Capella Hotel.
The annual sports car festival matches the cliche of the place. The central meeting point is the casino.
In the summer months the light and water show, the so-called cloud of sound takes place 3 times a week on the lakeshore of Velden.
