Green Point, KwaZulu-Natal - South Africa''s 10 Best Surf Spots.
Located just north of Scottburgh on KwaZulu-Natal's South Coast, Green Point is one of the province's best-known surf spots. It needs a medium, southerly swell to get it going, but when it does, it's a classic right-hand point-break that rivals several of its more famous counterparts down south. It can get busy on weekends, but for most of the year, it's a relatively off-the-beaten track option for those that don't like to compete too much for space. .

We CELEBRATED our 1K SUBSCRIBER milestone, by swimming with sharks. We promised to do this activity as soon as we reached 1K...and we did it :) So ALL thanks goes to YOU, our amazing subscribers and community.
It was a nerve-racking experience, but we are so proud of ourselves for 'getting out the cage', facing our fears and and looking the sharks right in the eye.
We went with who then took us to It cost us R1100 each and we also paid R350 to rent a GoPro Hero 4.
We met at the Aliwal Dive Centre in Umkomaas at 7am where we met our instructor/tour guide, Danie. He arranged our wetsuits and snorkel gear for us, while we paid at reception. We got very lucky, as there was only one other couple with us on the tour (we always enjoy smaller groups). Disclaimer: the wetsuits were a little worn and torn and so was the snorkel gear, but it still served its purpose.
Our instructor, Danie, gave us a quick safety brief. He told us that we can start in the cage, when we feel comfortable we can get out and hold onto the pole and then we can freely snorkel with the sharks.
We all got in the back of the bakkie and went off to the beach. The boat got ready to launch, we got on and off we went. Danie threw some sardines in the water and slapped the water to get the attention of the sharks. As soon as there were 2 or 3 sharks, they lowered the cage in the water. I (Chantz) opted to start in the cage, and Craig went straight in the water and immediately got a fright as one of the sharks bumped his legs :) We had about 5 blacktip sharks around us. They aren't aggressive and their main meal is sardines. They were actually quite playful and loved brushing against our legs. We spent about 45 minutes in the water before we went back.
It was an amazing experience and one that we never thought we would do.

OKTOBERFEST IN SOUTH AFRICA // Umkomaas // South Africa // Episode 19
In this video we took a trip down the South Coast of South Africa to a little town called Umkomaas. The main reason for our trip was to attend Oktoberfest at the East Coast Brewing Company. We stayed in a beautiful Airbnb with a pool, ocean view and two gorgeous dogs. We checked in and then minutes later we found ourselves waiting in line at the East Coast Brewing Company for an afternoon of good beer, food and live music. We had so much fun eating, drinking and enjoying the live music!
The next morning we toured Umkomaas and found some awesome spots to visit. From the Surf Shack to breakfast at Waves and then a walk on the beach at the Umkomaas River mouth. We had such an amazing 24 hours in Umkomaas!!

Stumbled upon this bucket list moment this morning on the way back from Pennington. Couldn't see much from the shore so I sent up my drone to see why the crowd was gathering on the beach.
I assume no netting due to rocky shores.

A quick stroll through Kwazulu Natal, featuring several areas around Durban, such as: the Nelson Mandela Capture Site, Piggly Wiggly, the Howick Falls, Natal Zoological Garden, Natal Lion Park and Beach Bums in Ballito.
I am publishing this a bit late. Initially I was there for christmas. I hope you dont mind that I mention that inn the video, even though christmas by now is long ago.

This is a drone video of the Dolphin Coast - KwaZulu Natal North Coast in South Africa.
The beach is located 40 km north of Durban close to the town Ballito in KwaZulu - Natal. Dolphins are coming to this coast therefore it's also called the Dolphin Coast. Its an ideal place to relax and enjoy the sea.
A recommended place to stay at the coast is CANELANDS BEACH CLUB & SPA. The place is shown in the video and is directly located at the beach.
