Usak is a small city in the Aegean Region of Turkey. It is known for its hand-woven Usak carpets and its Tarhana soup. I must admit, I didn’t only come to Usak to see the city center or to try Tarhana Corbasi, even though it’s pretty good. But what’s really exciting about Usak are the places outside the city!
How lucky I am that I have my good old friend Limon who will, hopefully, bring me to all the breathtaking places in Usak. I made the perfect road trip map for Usak (available for members). I’m gonna cover 200km in the province for the next couple of days. A lot of nature and camping involved. Let’s go!

The Ancient City of Blaundos was established near the border of Phrygia and Lydia by Macedonians, which makes it stand out among the other ancient cities that are scattered throughout Anatolia. Enter the city through the well-preserved city walls, and explore the structures that remain today, such as the aqueducts, the colonnaded street, and temples. The most striking and well-known structure, however, is the ruins of the state building. Due to the distinct shape of the ruins, it’s known as the Stonehenge of Anatolia. A must-see in the region!

Uzun yollar demiştik... Isparta Eğirdir Gölü kenarında geçirdiğim güzel gecenin ardından çıktığım yolculuk bir hayli yorucu... Isparta dan sonra bir ara Denizli il sınırına girdim, bir ara Afyon... Uşak ilimize girmeden Denizli'ye bağlı Gümüşsu girişinde muazzam bir akarsu gördüm. Böyle yerlerde genelde durmak yerine sadece anın keyfini sürmeyi tercih etsem de, durdum ve yağan yağmura aldırmadan akan suyu biraz izledim. Sonunda Uşak ilimize ulaştım. Yollar genelde dar ama güzeldi, bu güzel yollarda üstümden yağmur eksik olmadı.
Yağmurla birlikte Uşak il sınırına girdim, neydi adı sanıyorum Sivaslı idi oralara yaklaşmadam Sebaste Antik Kentine uğradım. Büyük bir merakla uğradığım antik kent öylesine bakımsız ve atıl kalmış ki, görünce üzüldüm. Sonrasında biraz daha yol gidip Uşak merkezine vardım. Bir yanda yağmur yağarken, diğer yanda ben şemsiye arıyorum. Kamera çok hassas, o nedenle cep telefonu ile video çekerim diyerek, şemsiye ile birlikte Uşak sokaklarında nihayet yürümeye başladım.
Cimcim çeşmesinden başladım, hemen ilerisinde Karaali camisine baktım lakin bir restorasyon geçirmiş gibi neyse çok yorum yapmıyorum. Ardından Ulu Cami, cami içerisinde bir hareketlilik vardı, sanırım akşam hazırlığı yada başka bir şey bu nedenle cami içine girip inceleme fırsatı bulamadım. Renkli tarihi Uşak evlerinin olduğu küçük sokaklardan geçip halı ve kilim evine gittim fakat kapı duvar... Sordum, muhtar falan dediler... Bu yağmurda muhtar ara, kapı açtır, bunlar uzun işler diyerek Atatürk Ve Etnografya Müzesine doğru ilerledim.
Yoğun yağmur altında bu küçük şehirde bir trafik problemi baş gösterdi... Işıklara uyan yok, dar sokaklarda hızlı sürenler arttı... Ne diyorduk, Atatürk Ve Etnografya Müzesi... Kaç şehir geçtim? Kaç ilçe... 10'dan fazla oldu sanırım lakin bu kadar kibar bir güvenlik görevlisine denk gelmedim. Özellikle Burdur müzesinde ki memurun üzerine bu beyefendi bizi buyur edip, müzeyi kısaca anlattı ve çıkarken de hoşçakalın dedi. İşini severek yapanlar da var demek.
Müze ardından yağmurun diner diye bir kaç dakika bekledim, baktım ki dinecek gibi değil Burmalı camiye doğru yürüdüm, oldukça merkezi konumda olan caminin içine girme şansı da buldum. Şehrin sokaklarında yürürken Uşak kent tarihi müzesine de gitmek istedim ve orayı da ziyaret ettim. Oldukça güzel bir müze yapılmış ve ücretsiz.
Cami ve müzeler gezildi, yağmura rağmen bu küçük şehir ne güzeldi. Atatürk heykelinin önünden geçerken aklımda bir soru Manisa Kula'ya gitmeli miyim? Manisa'daki gezinin ardından komşu olması nedeniyle Kula'yı buraya bıraktım ama hava yağmurlu... Ben yorgunum ve hatta boğazlarım şiş... Arabaya gidene kadar düşündüm, giderken Uşak ta bulunan alışveriş merkezine uğrayıp bir kahve aldım ve kararımı verdim. Kula'ya doğru gidecektim.
Gitmesi çok güzeldi, yol sürekli olarak aşağıya doğru gittiği için çok mutlu oldum ama her inişin bir çıkışı vardır... Kula'ya sonunda ulaştım. Manisa tarafımca çokça sevilmişti, hatta Akhisar daha da güzeldi şimdi Kula'ya varmıştım.
Kula... Büyülü bir şehir gibi, en son böylesine gülümseme içinde olduğum şehir hangisiydi hatırlamıyorum. Sanki 90 lar yaşanmakta... Renkli güzel evler, dar sokaklar, eski esnaflar... Kula çok güzel ve görülmesi gereken bir yer.

Kuladokya... Öylesine muazzam ve tarifsiz ki, görülmesi gereken bir yer daha... Yolunuz düşüyor ise muhakkak gidin, düşmüyor ise düşürün. Günü Kuladokya da bitirdim.
Isparta Eğirdir den çıktığım yolculukta, Uşak ve Kula üzerinden Kütahya ya geçtim.
